[Bug 256373] Re: rhythmbox tag editing issue (back button in file property menu becomes inactive)

2008-08-12 Thread Aanjhan Ranganathan
I can reproduce this on Hardy. I was trying to reproduce by pressing the
Close button in Property dialog after changing the name. But one must
press Forward button after changing the name and it is easily
reproduced.

[Bug 31102] Re: Can't disable tooltips

2008-08-12 Thread Sebastien Bacher
upstream bug comment

tooltips are now (gtk+ 2.14) enabled globally by the gtk-enable-tooltips
setting.

every gtk+ widget (and hence applets) will automatically have tooltips disabled
if that property is set to FALSE inside a gtkrc file. it might require a
XSettings key in case we want to be able to use GConf to toggle it - but that
is for another bug.

I'd close this bug as OBSOLETE.

[Bug 240388] Re: Not supported calendar message in Outlook

2008-08-12 Thread ThomasNovin
Ok, I will do that.

I also noted now that when I send a invite from Evolution via Exchange
to a person with Evolution and IMAP the invite is OK in that direction.
When that person accepts and sends a reply, that message isn't possible
to receive. I collect my Exchange email via IMAP. I got this message
from the Exchange server in my Inbox:

Exchange 2007 IMAP4 server failed to retrieve the following message:

Subject: Accepted: Meeting Title
From: Some Person ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
Sent Date: 2008-08-07 22:01:43

The message could not be retrieved using the IMAP4 protocol. The message
has not been deleted and may be accessible using either Microsoft
Outlook or Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access. You can also try
contacting the original sender of the message to find out about the
contents of the message.

Retrieval of this message will be retried when the server is updated
with a fix that addresses the problem.

[Bug 155294] [NEW] It is not possible to disable the keychain password entry dialog for accessing a WLAN when auto-login is enabled

2008-08-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Just like the title says. I realise this is probably more a feature
request than a bug, but I feel bugged by it, so...

The reason I enable auto-login for is that I shall not feel restricted
in any way on my own computer. But having to enter a password for
getting WLAN undermines the whole point of enabling auto-login (the
password dialog after standby or suspend as well, but there's ways
around that).

I would really love to see a way to get around that keychain password
dialog in the next version of Ubuntu. If it has to have a big, fat,
warning about the security implications, then that's fine. I would also
link the three settings no password for login / no password for wlan
/ no password after suspend, standby together, UI-wise - like is done
with screensaver and power saving options already.

[Bug 237064] Re: Unable to create archive with OpenOffice document using nautilus integration

2008-08-12 Thread Chris Jones
It's 100% reproducible in Hardy:

 * right click on any OpenOffice document (as in, an actual OOo file like a
.odt, not a .doc)
 * Look for the Create Archive option you'd normally get when right clicking
on a file
 * Notice that the option is not there, instead you have Extract Archive

This is because OOo files are zips of XML and other stuff, so Nautilus
is recognising them as zip files, but it's not useful for a normal user
to be able to extract the XML and other data from a .odt.

Arguably there is no need to put a .odt in a .zip or .tar.gz, however,
they might want to create an archive with one file and then add others
later.

Since File Roller is gone from the Applications menu, there is no way to
start a new .zip/.tar.gz with an OOo document.

[Bug 175031] Re: file-roller right-click extract here (for RAR) does not work

2008-08-12 Thread Gaspard Leon
The main issue here is resolved...

I can right-click and extract successfully from all the multi-file and
single file rar archives I could find laying around on my hard drives.

The secondary issue (with the extract dialog inside of file-roller not
responding to extract unless you pick a folder) is still there.
I should probably open a second bug or find an existing bug for the secondary
issue.

Cheers,

Gaspard

Does that mean that one full year after reporting the problem using the
procedure Ubuntu asks us to use, the answer is we just don't care?.
Does Ubuntu *really* want users to cooperate?
We're waiting in hope to help Ubuntu and ...
One full year after, the bug is still there and it's something serious
because it accustoms users to give bogus answers to bogus messages at
the risk of giving bogus answers to correct messages.

[Bug 257250] [NEW] gnome-session segfault during login

2008-08-12 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

After installing a large batch of updates, gnome-session 2.23.6-0ubuntu1
crashes reproducibly for me on every login, after about 10 seconds or
so. I can see that nautilus has started successfully, and the log
indicates that compiz is running, but it's before the panel starts.

I will attach my .xsession-errors and attempt to get a stack trace
(apport did not trigger for some reason)

[Bug 257260] [NEW] Text changes when marked

2008-08-12 Thread norro
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

In Evince document viewer it sometimes happens, that formular inside
PDFs changes, when marking it with the mouse pointer.

An example is attached. You can reproduce the example with the following file:
http://groups.csail.mit.edu/graphics/pubs/thesis_antone.pdf (page 167)

If I copy and paste the marked text, the result is the correct text as
displayed before marking. If I unmark the text, it returns to the
previous, correct text.

[Bug 257250] Re: gnome-session segfault during login

2008-08-12 Thread Chris Coulson
Matt - I know this might sound like a silly question, but is Apport
enabled? You can check by typing the following in a terminal:

cat /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern

...it should look something like |apport %p %s %c. If it reads core,
then Apport is not catching any crashes.

Thanks

[Bug 191889] Re: [MASTER] [WORKAROUND] Offline Mode feature fails to detect proper online state for networks that are managed outside of network manager.

2008-08-12 Thread Jo-Erlend Schinstad
I'm also using a CDMA connection using PPP and Firefox always starts in
offline mode. This is extremely annoying, but not really a big problem.
However, this also means that no Prism-applications work at all, because
it also starts in offline mode, and doesn't have a way to switch.

[Bug 257278] [NEW] file name includes disc artist instead of track artist

2008-08-12 Thread Werner Müller
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

In Sound Juicer 2.22.0 that came with Ubuntu 8.04 - the Hardy Heron -
released in April 2008: version 2.22.0-1ubuntu2 seams to contain the
following bug (please note that I am using a German version and try to
translate the menue options in English!):

When the Preferences dialog's File name option is set to (Titelinterpret
(sortierbar) - Titel) Track Artist (sortable) - Track Title, the
actual file names created use the Disc Artist instead of the Track
Artist.

E.g. When reading a sampler CD the Disc artist is Various artists and
one of the tracks (Title) is Samba Pa Ti with Track artist
(Interpret) Santana. With the settings above I would expect a file
created named Santana - Samba Pa Ti.mp3 but a file named Various
Artists - Samba Pa Ti.mp3 is created instead.
