[Bug 306656] Re: Internal/external disk icons are bogus
Alex - here is what I noted from your data: The Storage icon is the same as the Filesystem icon when mounted because the Gnome icon theme does not contain a drive-harddisk-usb icon. If the theme contains one, then it will be used. I have a theme with that icon, and my USB drives have a different icon to the Filesystem icon (the Human theme is also ok). If you don't like it, you should report it to the Gnome bugzilla. When an external drive is connected via USB but unmounted, it will show the drive-removable-media-usb icon. For the Gnome icon theme, that is a picture of a drive with a slot. The Human theme uses a picture of a drive with a USB icon. The theme I use shows a picture of a thumb drive for this icon. If you don't like it, you should report this to the Gnome bugzilla. As for the Filesystem icon, I'm not sure what other type of icon would be suitable. I don't agree with you that this one is wrong. Can you make a better suggestion? Your Macintosh icon uses the drive-removable-media icon when not mounted. This is because it is removable in the sense that it can be mounted/unmounted by a normal user via HAL. What other icon do you suggest when the filesystem has been removed (ie, unmounted) from the system? This icon will use the drive-harddisk icon when mounted, which is correct. I'm going to reassign this to the gnome-icon-theme, as most of your problems really are theme-specific. Please could you forward this upstream to the Gnome bugzilla? If you think that displaying drive-removable-media for unmounted internal volumes is a bug, please also feel free to report that to the bugzilla too. [Bug 306837] Re: gnome terminal crashes when changing the profile
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 306768] Re: Toetm DVD player doesn't work
Err, im using 8.10 with Totem 2.24.3 without the troubles you describe. I changed my gstreamer-properties video output to '... (no Xv)' because the ati drivers aren't completely sorted out yet. Ati didn't want non- microsoft users using their products for some reason but finally relented quite recently. Features?!?!?! lol, did a linux media-player have features? I'm putting up with a lack of features because i find Linux so much easier to work with and such a refreshing break after years of agro using microsoft 'systems'. I'm learning a lot but still a noob really. [Bug 110899] Re: workspace-switcher needs to work with dualhead setup
@zurgutt: Ok, but reading it again, I think the original post here is actually really only about this very feature request, namely, using the Workspace Switcher to display both screens and use it to move applications from one screen to another. @Andruk: The number of workspaces is a general window manager setting. I agree it's confusing (see also http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441658), but I think it's a separate issue for which you should open a separate Launchpad bug report if there is none already. I suggest to reopen one of the duplicates, e.g. bug #139676 or bug #152091, for the issue that the workspace switcher on screen :1 is displaying screen :0 because it's a different issue. I've also created a new upstream bug for this: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=563974 which should be linked with the reopened bug #139676 or bug #152091. As mentioned above, I also think the upstream bug gnome-bugs #552744 linked here is about something else (I haven't seen an upstream bug for the feature request). [Bug 303536] Re: Brasero - wrongly reports insufficient space on media
i think it has something to do with the write permissions in the folder used as temp for the conversion of mp3s. after having copied the album (mp3) i was trying to burn to my home folder, brasero didn't repeat that behaviour. the burning originally failed; at that point the files i was trying to burn belonged to another user and i had no write permission in the folder they were in. the other issue with displaying no space on disk in the main window is another problem, that maybe should be addressed in an extra bug report... what's clear, is that the error messages in these 2 bugs have to become more distinct, if one should ever be able to ascertain what's actually wrong while trying to burn a cd with brasero -- Brasero - wrongly reports insufficient space on media https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/303536 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 306860] Re: evolution crashes upon changes in preferences
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 306922] [NEW] Evolution new label dialog should pre-select an unused color
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution When applying a label to a message in Evolution, there's a menu option to create a new label. Clicking this brings up a dialog that lets you type a label name and select a color. This color selection is always a drab shade of gray by default, meaning that the user must choose a custom color every time. Instead, this dialog should default to a reasonable unused color (like a primary color) so the user doesn't need to choose one from the color wheel every time. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evolution new label dialog should pre-select an unused color https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
