[Bug 356191] Re: The title bar of the Nautilus share dialog shows untranslated, and can't be translated

2009-04-13 Thread A. Walton
If the code that causes the problem is inside of nautilus-share, there's
nothing we can do about it in Nautilus. Reassigning to nautilus-share.

[Bug 354447] Re: gnome-terminal zoom-in keybinding referenced in menus is not intuitive in relation to the actual keypresses needed

2009-04-13 Thread spaceboy
This one has annoyed me for quite some time, and it's definitely there
under Hardy, and I'm pretty sure I remember it there in Gutsy and maybe
Feisty.

It's only thanks to this bug thread that I now know how to use the zoom!

Also, I'd like to add a suggestion here. As I always run at high res,
I'm always zooming all of my apps. It would be VERY nice if the
terminal would remember the last zoom setting so I don't have to do it
every time.

[Bug 360356] [NEW] [Jaunty] Useless service active by default in Ubuntu F-Spot

2009-04-13 Thread VangelistX
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

A Beagle service (Notify Beagle on image changes) is active by default in
F-Sot Photo Manager 0.5.0.3-1ubuntu6.
Ubuntu doesn't have Beagle Search Tool in default installation, so there is no
reason for the service to run (despite consuming system resources).

Solution:
Go to: Edit/Manage extensions/Services and disable the Beagle service by
default or uninstall (delete) it in the F-Spot Ubuntu package.

[Bug 117011] Re: Gnome-mount will only mount encrypted partitions and not drives created with cryptsetup/luks

2009-04-13 Thread Alexander Krivács Schrøder
A whole year later, and this is still not fixed. I would just switch
from using the whole drive to a partition that fills the whole drive,
it's just that the drive is 500 GiB, and more or less full, and I don't
have room to move the stuff around to fix this problem that way. Why
does gnome-mount (or hal, or whatever the culprit) have so much trouble
mounting an encrypted drive? The password is asked for, the
/dev/mapper/luks_* block file is created, it's just not being mounted.

[Bug 360383] [NEW] epiphany icon doesn't show up in the application menu

2009-04-13 Thread David Nielsen

The icon for Epiphany does not show up on the menu. To make it appear do
the following

1) install epiphany-browser
2) right click menu bar and select edit menus (alacarte)
3) go to the Internet entry and notice how epiphany has an enabled tick.
4) untick it, then tick it again
5) upon exiting you now have your epiphany icon back.

[Bug 290714] [NEW] weird looking gksu window for password dialogs as normal windows

2009-04-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: gksu

The gksu window looks nice in the default installation, but doesn't work so
well with the option Password dialogs as normal windows. The window frame is
too large and there is a transparent gap around the password entry.
Please have a look at the image.

Steps to reproduce this:
$ gnome-at-properties
   - enable Password dialogs as normal windows
$ gksu synaptic
   - weird transparent frame

This is still an issue in current Jaunty Beta, gksu 2.0.2-1ubuntu2,

between window border and content. In other words, the window is too
large for its content.

[Bug 208181] Re: Optional Information Needed to Connect to Samba Share

2009-04-13 Thread mikedev
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 216104 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216104

I still have the same issue as per my initial message, this time using
Jaunty beta with the latest updates applied. Selecting Places - Connect
to Server... and only entering the service type (windows share) and
server name / ip address, I get the following error message:

'Can't display location smb://192.168.0.4/
No application is registered as handling this file'

As before, if I enter the share name (i.e. it isn't optional) I then get
the dialog box to enter username, domain and password and everything
displays correctly (I think this is the fix described in bug #216104 -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/216104).

However, if I now (before or after connecting to the samba share) select
Places - Network then double click on Windows Network I see the
server and I can then browse to my network shares. Double clicking a
share brings up the login dialog box and everything is working as
expected. I'm really happy to see this finally working in nautilus.

Thanks

[Bug 94056] Re: configure automatic proxy with identification

2009-04-13 Thread ciaran.mooney
Hi,

I've had the same problem. But the following solved my problem.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=717526

I decided to change the values from gconf-editor instead of the
networking app. I did this by removing all strings, and unticking all
boxes in /system/http_proxy and putting in the link to the .pac file in
/system/proxy , and changed the mode setting to auto.

Hope this helps.

This really needs to be fixed!

I've tried getting a backtrace, but the stack seems to be disappearing

same.

[Bug 326323] Re: f-spot: Error when importing JPEG image

2009-04-13 Thread michal przadka
Hello,

I have a similar issue and want to provide information you asked for. Im
attaching 4 files:

1. a screenshot of the error dialog
2. a log of f-spot-import as a txt file
3. listing of the source directory on my camera
4. listing of the destination directory on my pc

The use-case is pretty simple: the problem appears almost every time I
want to import new picture from my camera to my pc. The error dialog
appears only sometimes, while importing certain files (but not all of
them). The files are completely new (new pictures and videos) so they
are not symlinks or anything like this.

Please let me know if you need any more info. I am very happy to help,
since the problem appears on my parents computer and I really want to
convince them that Ubuntu is way better than windows :)

Best,
Michal

[Bug 360452] [NEW] tab completion in jaunty missing

2009-04-13 Thread atlef

  Installed: 2.26.0-0ubuntu2

500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
When I press tab to have tab completion, it does nothing.

To fix this I edited /etc/bash.bashrc and uncommented these lines:

# enable bash completion in interactive shells
if [ -f /etc/bash_completion ]; then
. /etc/bash_completion
fi

Somehow they where commented out in my install.

[Bug 38414] Re: Clicking on sticky note applet when stickies are visible should hide them all

2009-04-13 Thread Kilbasar
In my opinion, the new version sacrifices functionality in order to
achieve this. Now, clicking the icon hides the notes, even if the notes
are behind other windows. What this means is that there is no way to
make your notes visible, besides minimizing the windows in front of
them, or minimizing your notes, waiting a second, then un-minmizing them
(you must wait to avoid the double-click, which creates a new note).
This frustrates me to no end, and has forced me to stop using this
applet. I answer the phone a lot, and need to quickly get my notes to
the front and jot things down. There is currently no way to do this.

I suggest adding a preference for what to do on single-clicks (or
double-clicks). Or really, anything that restores the ability to quickly
bring all the notes to the front.

Steps to recreate bug ==

1) start system
2) launch rhythmbox music player
3) add songs in the playlist from songs folder (this step is optional if
songs are already added in the playlist)
4) click on any of the song from the playlist

expected = song selected and clicked should be played by rhythmbox music
player
actual = song is not played
OS = ubuntu 8.04

i need to restart my laptop to actually play any of the song in
rhythmbox.

Thanks Regards
