[Bug 11334] Re: Copy-Paste doesn't work if the source is closed before the paste
** Description changed: + + This bug is an Epic Fail, because it's 2009 and still we do not *fully* support trivial things like copy/paste. + + Fortunately this works well in KDE. + + This -could- be the underlying cause of bug #7986. This is a general issue that seems to be independant of any individual program. Pick any text field that supports copying, copy some text. Paste into any other text field. It works. Close the source window or program. Paste now does nothing. The example I just verified this with is gedit to gedit. Also occurs with openoffice to gedit. In some cases, like OpenOffice and Firefox, simply closing the source window won't cause the problem. It only happens if the entire program is closed down. ** Tags added: epicfail -- Copy-Paste doesn't work if the source is closed before the paste https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/11334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a subscriber of a duplicate bug. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 382626] Re: Nautilus location bar toggle icon implies unrelated function
Reported in upstream Nautilus module. I'm not sure if it needs reporting in gnome-icon-theme as well; probably not, since the issue is not with the icon per se, but with the fact that Nautilus makes use of it. -- Nautilus location bar toggle icon implies unrelated function https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382626 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 356972] Re: Different logout dialog as for power off button
@lool: Thanks for the info regarding UNR upstream reporting! I agree that this should be set triaged as a netbook-launcher bug. I've been trying to get GPM bugs organized and under control, so I'll mark as invalid in GPM since ubuntu netbook remix launcher shouldn't let GPM even open its dialogue box. ** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- Different logout dialog as for power off button https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/356972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I've now been running for a while without the Clock applet, but have experienced further hangs. I managed to provoke a hang by starting both Gimp and the PDF document viewer. [Bug 373851] Re: for FOLDER, open with gnome-terminal DOES NOT do a cd to the FOLDER
You shouldn't use open with with terminal, it won't work like you want. If you have already Installed nautilus-open-terminal and restart nautilus, right click on a folder you'll see Open in Terminal or something like that, and it'll do what you want. PS; no need to use uppercase, I'm not blind and I can read lower case without problem, and uppercase is really to avoid, because following RFC 1855 [http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1855] UPPER CASE LOOKS AS IF YOU'RE SHOUTING.. [Bug 26930] Re: Usability Issue: Create A PDF Document: Save as
The title and description of this bug may need to be updated to reflect changes that have been made to PDF workflow since the bug was filed. In Jaunty, GNOME print dialogs have a Print to File printer available in the Print dialog. When you select this printer, the output file's suggested name is output.pdf and the suggested locations is the user's home directory. output is jargon, has the potential to collide with another file of the same name in the destination directory, and is difficult to remember as it has no relation to the name of the file being saved as PDF. Incorporating the source file's name in the output filename as the reporter suggests seems like a great improvement. Saving to the user's home directory is reasonable, but the Desktop is a more accessible location. We may also want to consider saving the PDF to the same directory as the source file. -- Suggested output when printing a file to PDF is technical and generic ~/output.pdf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/26930 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
