[Bug 437580] [NEW] [karmic] in videos embedded pictures are no longer used as thumbnails
Public bug reported: I'm not sure whether gstreamer is the right package for this bug report but at least ubuntu-bug thinks so. ** Description changed: What I did: - Nautilus is configured to show listview, and the directory-tree on the left ( just checked, symbolview has the same issue ) - - right-click on a file/folder and clicking on copy + - right-click on a file/folder and clicking on copy - change to the folder where the file/foldershould be copied to - rightclick anywhere in the listview of the contents of that folder What happened: - When rightclicking on a folder, there is the option to insert into that folder ( which is nice ) and cut and copy - no paste - - When rightclicking on a file the only options are cut and copy - no paste + - When rightclicking on a file the only options are cut and copy - no paste - When actually rightclicking on the actual folder from the tree-view, paste into that folder exists, but is inactive (!!!) - so no workaround available What I expected: a past option that pasts the files/folders I've copied before into the folder at whichs contents I'm looking. and a paste into that folder option in the treeview What I found out : when there are very few files/folders in a folder, and the list is shorter than the nautilus window could show - the whitespace below the list has this option. [Bug 397839] Re: Screen randomly goes off in karmic
@Bryce: I am pretty sure the Ubuntu xorg-server is still missing one of the fundamental upstream patches to fix this issue - as Ive said on a number of other bug reports which report this issue still, the following patch is still needed: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=c1d901d723c3bee523736eacc15b44a7dff484fe And until this is applied I am pretty sure screen blanking will still not work properly in karmic - which is why we keep getting bugs filed against gnome-power-manager (such as the one anagor linked to above) but I am pretty sure the problem is just that we still don't have this final patch - I've checked the xorg-server package source at it is definitely not in there. Thanks for commenting on this bug. 1) It is marked for expiration because no one has replied with more information after it was marked incomplete. (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status). It was marked incomplete because there was not enough information for a developer to work on the bug and it was not tested in Karmic (see comment #2). 2) To use apport to add information to an existing bug, type 'apport-collect BUG NUMBER' into the terminal ('apport-collect 385445' for this bug) 3) To debug gnome-power-manager, follow the instructions at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingGNOMEPowerManager. 4) The author of gnome-power-manager has removed the suspend and hibernate actions from clicking on the icon in the tool bar. [Bug 437682] [NEW] Missing Run Application entry in Keyboard Shortcuts customization dialog
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel The ability to customize the shortcut for the Run application dialog (default: Alt-F2) used to exist in Jaunty - this seems to have gone missing as of Karmic of Sep 27, 2009. The listing in the Keyboard Shortcuts customization application does not list the shortcut at all any more. It seems this functionality is not provided by a discreet program, but instead is integrated into gnome-panel (please correct this report if this is not the case). gnome-panel version is 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu3. [Bug 437691] [NEW] Shutdown button and Fitts' law
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm The shutdown button on Karmic's gdm is located in the lower right corner. It is close to the screen corner, which is much easier to reach with the mouse, but cannot be clicked by moving the mouse to the corner because of some padding. Since the button is safe (it only opens a menu), there's no reason not to allow this. Steps to reproduce: On the login screen, move your mouse down and right. It should stop at the corner pixel. Click the mouse. Nothing happens. Expected result: The shutdown menu opens. Fixing this is trivial: 22_shutdown_menu.patch adds a 6px padding around the button in this line: gtk_box_pack_end (GTK_BOX (panel-priv-hbox), GTK_WIDGET (shutdown_menu), FALSE, FALSE, 6); This should be changed to 0.
