[Bug 822530] [NEW] Evolution eventually runs out of file handles.
Public bug reported: Evolution seems to have a file handle leak. After running for a day or so (with some time suspended) it raises an error: Cannot open maildir directory path: /home/chris/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/.: Too many open files. This happens consistently given sufficient time, although I've not pinned down the minimum time it takes. After this message occurs, Evolution is ususable. Any attempt to access mail results in a Cannot access database error. [Bug 822619] [NEW] With automatic logon first keypress switches key repetition back on
Public bug reported: Package: gdm 2.30.2.is.2.30.0-0ubuntu5.2+langfixes~lucid1 Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (up to date) We have following situation: - GDM configured with timed automatic login - FVWM session with automatic execution of the 'xset r off' command during startup to switch off keyboard repeat. We have proof that the xset command is executed properly because 'xset q' commands afterwards show that the keyboard repeat really is switched off. Pressing any keyboard key automagically switches the keyboard repetition back on. This phenomenon also happens with the 'xterm' session. In that case switching off and verifying the keyboard repetition has to be done via a console (Shift+Alt+F1). Pressing a key before the automatic logon timer expires avoids the phenomenon. This phenomenon was not present in Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. [Bug 553162] Re: Set $LANGUAGE if the user picks a different locale in gdm, so that language-selector and gdm stop disagreeing
Hi Simon, /etc/default/locale contains system wide settings that basically affect the startup and the login screen. Once logged in, your personal language settings override the system wide ditto. Please select English as your user language, either from the language chooser at the bottom of the login screen or from Language Support. I recommend that you click the Help button on the Language Support window for a description of how things are intended to work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/553162 Title: Set $LANGUAGE if the user picks a different locale in gdm, so that language-selector and gdm stop disagreeing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdm/+bug/553162/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I'm observing exactly the same, except that the workaround of saving the project does NOT work. Even if I _do_ save the project, a 2Mb only image is written. I had added about 6Gb wirth of files. [Bug 822792] Re: Disk Usage Analyzer produce incorrect numbers on home directories
The home directory is encrypted with ecryptfs, but that does not seem to be a problem for baobab. I can choose any other directory under the home directory, and baobab reports correct usage information. I don't know what .gvfs is. It is something that was set up automatically, I don't know which software set it up. It shows up in /proc/mounts like this: gvfs-fuse-daemon /home/kasperd/.gvfs fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,user_id=1000,group_id=1000 0 0 Any attempt to access it just produces the same error, this might be due to a bug in some other component, but I don't know about that. Regardless of what the reason this mount point cannot be accessed is, it is a bug that baobab produce incorrect information when started from the parent directory. It should tell me there are things it cannot access and proceed to give me information about everything that it can access. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/822792 Title: Disk Usage Analyzer produce incorrect numbers on home directories To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/822792/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 822205] Re: Totem crashes instantly after starting - memory overflow
The gconfaudiosink and gconfvideosink appear to be gone, they used to be in /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstgconfelements.so, which is part of gstreamer0.10-plugins-good. However they seem to have been deprecated in favor of gsettingsvideosink and gsettingsaudiosink, which are in a shared library called libgstgsettingselements.so, which is currently part of gstreamer0.10 -plugins-bad. Thus, two things are needed: 1- Installing the gsettings elements somehow, currently by installing gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad. 2- Modifying applications that refer to gconf{video, audio}sink to use gsettings{video, audio}sink instead. I couldn't find any relevant bugs in either of gstreamer0.10-plugins-{good,bad}. But still, point 2 above means that most likely some changes will be needed in totem itself. --- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/822205 Title: Totem crashes instantly after starting - memory overflow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/822205/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

You have been subscribed to a public bug: $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 9.04 Release:9.04 System is up to date. To reproduce: 1. Open a couple of Nautilus windows with source and target folders. 2. Start copying big amount of data, so that it takes a while (I used something like 7GB), from source to target folder. 3. Try to perform you standard routines/tasks. While copying is in process It is really hard to interact with the desktop. Response of the programs/controls becomes really sluggish. Even while typing text in the text-fields I observe pauses up to few seconds before typed in keystrokes appear as text on the screen. On the other hand, if copying is done in the Midnight Commander, then the problem is less severe. The delays are even more harsh if I perform copying from/to external USB hard drive. I experience a slide show on the desktop then. Similar behavior was also reported a number of times on our community support forum. I tried to monitor processor/memory consumption — nothing unusual. [Bug 823021] Re: libre.fm/nowplaying url is contacted and sent the current song being played without my consent
I'm not able to reproduce this on Debian (Last.fm plugin enabled, but not authenticated with Libre.fm). Could you give some more details about your configuration? e.g. Is the Last.fm plugin marked as being enabled? If you click the Configure button for that plugin are both Last.fm and Libre.fm ticked? If you click the Libre.fm tab in the sidebar what does it show? Are you certain that you haven't set up the plugin in the past and just forgotten? The fact that the s parameter is filled in your data dump there would seem to indicate that you have authenticated with Libre.fm, as this is the session key which is retrieved as part of the authentication handshake (you'd have had to click the little Log in button in the Libre.fm tab at some point in the past, after which it would then be displaying some details from your profile.)
