[Bug 1751175] [NEW] Rhythmbox does not save metadata for FLAC files
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Ubuntu 17.10, Rhythmbox does not record the metadata entered in the "Extract" interface when converting CDs to FLAC files. (I have not checked to see if the same is true with mp3.) Expected behaviour: I load a CD, and Rhythmbox loads the metadata for the album from MusicBrainz (or I enter it manually if the album is not found). If I click Extract, the CD is converted to my preferred file format (in this case, FLAC), and the metadata is added to the resulting files. This was the case on Ubuntu 17.04 and earlier. Current behaviour: metadata is loaded from MusicBrainz as usual, but when I extract, most of it is not added to the files. If the metadata provided is Track Number, Artist, Album, Title, Genre, Disc number, and Year, I see the following: The title that results is the file name, for example: James Ehnes - 02 - Ravel: Berceuse sur le nom de Gabriel Fauré.flac The Artist, Album, Track Number, and Genre tags are not written. Curiously, the Disc number and year tags *are* written. More curiously, as a file is being converted, all the tags display in Rhythmbox as expected. But the moment the extraction reaches the end of the file, and the file is saved, the tags disappear. I'm talking about changing the driver in the guest, on the assumption this bug was reported from the guest (which is what we need). [Bug 1245473] Re: Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program
I am running 17.10 with MATE, and this bug is still happening, I report it was working in 16.04 with Mate and after upgrading I have a working layout switcher between 2 languages but all Shift+Alt derived shortcuts specially the ones in IDEA are not working anymore User rant Well I will add my complain, This is one of those "I fell like switching back to windows" kind of bug, the kind that make you stop before recommending ubuntu to your friends and family, the one when people point it out to you, you simply lower your head and nod. This is super old and terrible for any shortcut user in a multi language setup, which are most of developers I know of. In 17.10 not even the Xorg recompile is working anymore, for some magical reason in 16.04 this was fixed maybe by Dell(I have a dell ubuntu machine) or someone else, as soon as I updated to 17.10 it appeared again. It's really infuriating to start my IDE everyday with this on. In my case, layout switcher for keyboards is working ( probably because of some of config from 16.04) but all Shift+Alt derived shortcuts specially the ones in IDEA are not. So no more fancy multi caret edit for me, or fast renaming, or line switching I am basically missing some of the the good stuff IDEA provides and was payed for because of a 10 year old bug.
