Yes. When I paste to the command line. Just the obvious copy and paste
to terminal.

[Bug 2022851] Re: Inappropriate files display

2023-06-05 Thread Raymond van Rooijen
Same problem, just another explanation of the symptoms.

Whenever I delete files, or move files (move files from one nautilus
window to another).

I find that any random file (usually\always the top file in the UI) is
removed from the UI (or users view). The file that is removed from the
users view is not the file meant to be moved or deleted.

Importantly however, the right files seem to still be removed and moved.
As stated above, changing directory before changing back (as a sort of
"refresh"), shows all files were moved or deleted as expected.

[Bug 1796836] Re: gnome-calendar crashed with SIGSEGV in gcal_manager_is_client_writable()

2018-10-09 Thread Raymond Bakker
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1761466 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1761466

There is no bug 1761466, apparently. Some further testing on Ubuntu
18.10 (dev branch) + GNOME 3.30 later:

The situation somewhat normalized after removing several applications like
GNOME Documents, Weather, To-Do and some others.
The tasks in Evolution (and/or GNOME Calendar and the calendar in the
notification area) still disappear, but reappear when entering a new task in
Evolution. Everything seems back to normal from there, until the issue reoccurs
after closing and restarting evolution. Entering a new task makes the other
tasks visible again.

2013-04-22 Thread Raymond
I don't think it is correct to change all IEC958 to SPDIF

e.g. dell inspiron 660s does not have any optical or coaxial jacks and
only have HDMI jack

it is quite confusing that alsamixer show spdif playback switch in
Ubuntu 12.10

[Bug 930944] [NEW] Off-by-one error in count of copied files

2012-02-12 Thread David Raymond Christiansen
Public bug reported:

When copying files, the x of y display at the bottom shows x-1 instead
of x. In other words, when copying three files, it will count from 0
of 3 to 2 of 3 instead of 1 of 3 to 3 of 3.

It is possible that this only happens on copies to SMB-mounted drives -
that is the only situation where I've been able to make it go slow
enough to see.

[Bug 655405] Re: evolution calendar-, task- and notivication-lists crashes by opening

2011-01-22 Thread Raymond Hill
We've had the same problem today after an upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10:

The Evolution calendar has quit unexpectedly. // Your calendars will
not be available until Evolution is restarted

After a bit of trying to figure what was wrong by searching on internet,
on a hunch, I went and opened the calendar text file in
~/.evolution/calendar/local/system/calendar.ics. I checked the
encoding of the file by clicking File / Save As... (which allows to
check the encoding), and I noticed it was ISO-8859-1.

I made a copy of calendar.ics just in case, and saved a copy after
forcing UTF-8 encoding in the Save as... dialog box. That solved the
problem (except that accented letters were mangled -- not a big deal).

Hope this works for other as well.

[Bug 655405] Re: evolution calendar-, task- and notivication-lists crashes by opening

2011-01-22 Thread Raymond Hill
Hi tellapu.

I went to check again the copy I saved prior to applying the change, and
I have to correct myself: Just the same as what you found out on your
side, the file encoding was actually ISO-8859-15 (not ISO-8859-1 as I
reported previously). I didn't pay attention to the line ending
settings, but now I checked and it is Windows, before and after the fix
(IIRC, in Unix/Linux, line ending are \n, in Windows \n\r, and in Mac
\r)

[Bug 550913] Re: Computer freezes while scrolling a PDF file inside Document Viewer

2010-04-17 Thread Raymond Hill
I think this bug can be closed. I have recurrent computer freezes
requiring cold reboot, so I suspect that the fact it happened twice in a
row while scrolling a PDF document is pure coincidence, not unlikely
since I was mainly working with PDF back then.

[Bug 360591] Re: Crash when doing a replace all: gedit crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_text_iter_set_offset()

2010-04-05 Thread Raymond Hill
Just got the same crash. In my case, I was opening two huge (~7MB each)
SQL dumps simultaneously (I wanted to perform a diff). I didn't interact
at all with gedit, as far as I can tell, the SQL dumps where being
opened/parsed by gedit when the crash occurred.

[Bug 175233] Re: Evolution hangs with Formatting Message after several hours

2010-03-29 Thread Raymond Hill
I get this problem a lot, so much that each time I launch Evolution I
get anxious about whether it will hang with the Formatting message
(...) or not. Currently running version 2.28.3. Contrary to what Markus
Birth reported above, mine hang without a message being sent, often
immediately after launching Evolution.

What's an OWA account btw?

On second thought, since the computer completely freezes, I think it is
more likely to be related to a problem in the display driver?

Re: [Bug 514202] Re: Can't listen to station

2010-01-29 Thread Raymond
Hi, Pedro there are several stations.
Like http://64.120.147.53:7521
http://66.55.139.212:7010
http://70.86.74.163:8015
http://64.120.147.53:8738
When I push the PLAY button, after 5 sec. the player tells me service NOT
availlable.
I hope I told you enough, if not feel free to mail me.
Greetings,

In my case the game does not slow down before crashing, it just crashes
after about 45 minutes of play and it does it every time. Ray

[Bug 237101] Re: Evolution locks up when replying to an email or viewing calendar entries

2008-06-04 Thread Raymond Doran
I have been having the same problem. Anything I do in regard to sending
mail through my exchange account ( send, reply, or forward) it hangs
just after the mail entry/edit screen appears. I followed the
instructions and ran strace attaching it to the running evolution
process and then tried to send an email from my exchange account which
is one of the actions that causes it to hang. It did not hang as long
as I had strace attached to the evolution pid. I could send, replay, or
forward and it worked just fine. As soon as I stopped evolution and
then reran without strace, it hangs again. Very interesting.

Regards,
Raymond Doran

2008-06-04 Thread Raymond Doran
I did not add a trace. What I noted in the post above the one you
replied to is that while strace is tracing evolution it does not hang.
That is what is interesting.
