[Bug 774827] Re: There seems to be no way to scroll vnc windows which are larger than the viewer screen size

2011-05-01 Thread Kalman Reti
I've discovered that returning to windowed mode from the fullscreen
scaled mode made a 2880x1800 window and that by holding down alt and
clicking, I could drag it around to have different parts of this large
window covering the entire screen. However, when I tried to make it
smaller by grabbing the bottom right corner and dragging something went
haywire with X and/or gnome. Presumably, if I could resize the screen
to something that fits within my display, I'd get the scroll bars that I
need.

[Bug 43066] Re: Window list behaves bad when panel is vertical.

2011-05-01 Thread Moses Moore
Natty 11.04 released -- gnome-panel 1:2.32.1-0ubuntu6.4 is in 'natty-
proposed' and the problem is still present.

I followed Craig's instructions in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
panel/+bug/43066/comments/39 , replaced the gnome-panel package (and
only the gnome-panel package), and the window-list applet doesn't have
the strobing effect when oriented vertically anymore. No need to change
the libwnck22 package, just 'gnome-panel'.

[Bug 775071] [NEW] UI not properly redrawing

2011-05-01 Thread D Rhodes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Ubuntu 11.04, Rhythmbox 0.13.3-0ubuntu5
The attached picture describes what is happening better than I can explain it.
The expected result is that the application realigns its top border with the
menu bar. This occurs after the application has been minimized and then
redisplayed from the launcher. It affects the mouse as well, as the mouse
doesn't know that the application has moved, so as a result selects the object
one line above what was intended to be selected.

[Bug 775131] [NEW] Cannot make external HDMI monitor the default monitor

2011-05-01 Thread Zach Pfeffer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I have a System76 Lemur Ultra Thin laptop with an external HDMI monitor
connection. I'm able to plug in my HP Compaq LA2405wg monitor via a DVI to HDMI
converter and, using gnome-display-properties.

I upgraded to 11.04 from 10.04.

I used to be able to turn off the Laptop screen and the HP screen would
become the default. When I do that now both screens go blank (I have the
power manager set to blank the screen when the lids closed but the
system is on AC power.

When I click on the HP screen in the GUI and click Make Default I get a
pop up that says:

Authentication is required to install multi-monitor settings for all
users. etc...

The details say:
polkit.subject-pid: 1804
polkit.caller-pid: 2396
Action: org.gnome.randr.install-system-wide
Vendor: GNOME Monitor Preferences

I authenticate and it says that those will be the defaults when the next
user logs in.

I log out and log back in and the laptop screen is still the default.

[Bug 775150] [NEW] Recursive symbolic links in Trash crash nautilus

2011-05-01 Thread Soner Tari
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I've created recursive symbolic links, i.e. two symbolic links pointing at each
other:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 soner soner 10 2011-04-21 20:52 soner.lnk - soner.lnk2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 soner soner 9 2011-04-21 20:51 soner.lnk2 - soner.lnk

Then moved them into Trash by deleting them. After that point on
whenever I start Trash window, Nautilus crashes consistently. If I
delete those two files from the Trash/files folder on the command line,
everything becomes alright again.

Following is from kernel logs after Nautilus crashes:
May 1 23:21:47 ubuntu kernel: [26280.184472] nautilus[1830]: segfault at
7fff97d56fd8 ip 7f87851c013e sp 7fff97d56fe0 error 6 in
libglib-2.0.so.0.2600.1[7f8785162000+e]

[Bug 775153] [NEW] gnome-panel segfaults after upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04

2011-05-01 Thread Matthew Lockner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I upgraded to 11.04 recently. I wanted my old gnome-panel interface
back instead of Unity, but gnome-panel wouldn't start. Further
investigation yielded a segfault - output is included below.

Thanks,
Matthew Lockner

[Bug 663309] Re: gedit crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_text_iter_set_offset() when editing a GPX-file

2011-05-01 Thread Sebastian Carneiro
Just a newbie question, looking at the upstream bug, it says that this
issue is caused by a bug in gtksourceview, and not in this application.

Shouldn't the bug report be submitted in the aforementioned library,
instead of gedit ?

Sorry if I am totally wrong, just trying to understand what the right
way to proceed is in this case.

Best regards.

[Bug 775153] Re: gnome-panel segfaults after upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04

2011-05-01 Thread Greg Leaman
I think Talika is the problem. I had Maverick on my laptop and in a
Virtualbox VM on an XP host. I had Talika on the laptop, but DockBarX on
the VM. Updated both to Natty. The VM went smooth, but I had no panels
on the laptop and the mouse cursor constantly went back and forth
between the arrow cursor and the circular hourglass cursor. It wasn't
until I reset the gnome panel settings via terminal before everything
finally went back to normal. (I referenced this site:
http://www.watchingthenet.com/restore-panels-in-ubuntu-back-to-their-
default-settings.html ). After I got my panels back, I tried to
reinstall Talika since the Webupd8 PPA updated Talika for Natty. It
seemed to install fine, but it won't show up in the available list of
applets when I try to add it to the panel. Something is definitely up
with Talika and 11.04, but I haven't had time to explore a solution.

[Bug 250540] Re: gedit cannot save to sftp location

2011-05-01 Thread Sebastian Carneiro
Looking at the upstream bug, it appears that this is really a bug in
package gvfs.

Looking at the change made upstream on that package, and comparing with
the package gvfs that was released with natty, it appears that this
change has already been made.

Beside that, I repeat the steps outlined to reproduce the bug, and gedit
no longer have this problem, it allows me to save files in directories
owned by root, and also when the owner of the file is another user.

But should be done to close this bug? Can anyone confirm if it has been
fixed.

Best regards.

[Bug 257190] Re: Setting status to 'Hidden' changes status to 'Busy' instead

2011-05-01 Thread Matt Giuca
I agree, that's not ideal (one account does not support invisibility,
and invisibility is disabled across all of Empathy). But that is not
this bug -- this bug is already fixed.

Ankur/Rushi, I suggest you file a new bug about this problem, which can
be voted on and fixed independently of this one (and would probably be
considered less critical). Be sure to link to here so it's clear it
isn't a duplicate of this one, and link from here to there so interested
parties can follow the new bug.

[Bug 665467] Re: I cannot send text messages through aim account on empathy

2011-05-01 Thread Dylan Weremeichik
it almost seems like there should be an option to add this to an existing AIM
contact, and this feature is only half broken, as in people don't really know
it exists or how it works in empathy. From what I've seen it needs this format
in order to work: +AZZZXXX
A = Country code
Z = Area Code
X = Phone number

[Bug 624755] Re: to remove a pen drive have to use safely remove drive twice

2011-05-01 Thread Edmund Crouch
I get this behavior consistently also with Kingston USB drives.
However, one wrinkle not reported above is that the USB drive is
initially mounted at USB 2.0 speed as expected, but after the first
Safely Remove Drive it is always remounted at USB 1.1 speed only. My
Kingston drive uses different colored LEDs to report the different
connection speeds (red for USB 1.1, blue for USB 2.0).

[Bug 747796] Re: Turkish issue: gnome-language-selector crashes after a fresh install

2011-05-01 Thread Martin Pitt
Thanks Gunnar for providing a workaround. Disabling locale settings for
pygi calls might be an acceptable workaround for a natty stable update,
but I'll give the real pygobject bug some examination first. It needs to
be fixed either way, and if the fix is nonintrusive, we can SRU it as
well.
