this should be fixed in SVN. As soon as I've verified that MNG-2124 is
fixed as well (should be *very* shortly now), I'll put together a new RC
and call a new vote...unless anyone else has any objections? BTW, I've
moved MNG-1797 off of the 2.0.3 radar, since the general sentiment seems
to be that it needs more thought.

This should go into JIRA as a blocker on 2.0.3 to make sure we keep
track of it properly.

There was another 2.0.1 - 2.0.2 regression filed that I just put in as
a blocker. IT might be dismissed with investigation, but I'd like this
to be the release where all those are cleared up so I slotted it in.

Once open bugs not part of the release = 0, another RC + vote will be
needed.

 Hello everyone,

If you've been tracking the thread calling for the release of Maven
2.0.3, you'll know that several issues came up which have delayed any
decision on the release. The full discussion can be found here:

 http://www.nabble.com/-vote-Release-Maven-2.0.3-t1166489.html#a3063584

At any rate, I wanted to report that the last issue I have the ability

to debug is fixed - MNG-1415. The only outstanding issue from the
previous discussion is MNG-1317, which Kenney has graciously agreed to

debug and (hopefully) fix tomorrow. There are also two other open
issues pending in JIRA, but these are tasks that will be executed
during the release process, so shouldn't hold up the vote.

Regardless of whether MNG-1317 is fixed, I think we've got plenty of
reason to release 2.0.3 now. We've got two critical fixes for the SSH
network transport, improved quoted-argument handling for *nix

Re: [vote] Release Maven 2.0.3 (second attempt)

2006-03-05 Thread Fabrizio Giustina
Still playing with this rc with multiproject builds with a flat
layout: after the DefaultModelInheritanceAssembler fix everything work
as expected but I got my website broken due to a different behaviour
during publishing.

In my root module the website root directory is /x/htdocs. With the
previous m2 releases the root module got published to /x/htdocs and
child modules to /x/htdocs/modulename.

Now what happens is that the root module is still published to
/x/htdocs but child modules are (unsuccessfully) published at
/x/modulename (argh, out of the webserver root).
Is this an intentional change in MNG-2006 ? I would expect that pom
relative urls should not influence the website location (while they do
influence the svn url, since the parent path need to be used to get
the parent pom location... but this has nothing to do with published
website)

WDYT?

I'm +1 to release without MNG-1797. I'm not keen to so many last hour changes.
As I said in that bug I don't think we should fix that until we have
global excludes or it'll be a PITA to create poms and probably break a
lot of projects.

On Fri, 3 Mar 2006, Emmanuel Venisse wrote:

Looking at the source, the only way this can go wrong
is if the 'parent path' has no tokens, i.e. is an empty
string, or has the value http://; or file:///. The parent path
in question here is the site url.

This, in combination with '..' in the child path (which is strange,
since the artifactId is used there, and that should not contain '..')

Maybe if the url was not specified in the parent (or ancestor),
it now defaults to an empty string?

What would be needed hereis a check for too many '..'
(i.e. parent = /tmp/, child=../../test - /../test/, or
parent = /, child = ../test in the current case).

Either we ignore the '..' in this case, or thow an exception
(but that would require changes to the method signature).

Proposed fix: ignore for now, instead of an NPE?

(btw, the code is rather complex. A simple 'new File( parent, child
).getAbsolutePath().replace('\\','/') seems simpler to me.. :)

I'm on it.

It'll be fixed in a few minutes, and I'll republish the next CI binary
that comes out as a new RC.

Thanks for catching this.

This is the newest RC binary, including Kenney's fixes for MNG-1317 and

At any rate, I wanted to report that the last issue I have the ability
to debug is fixed - MNG-1415. The only outstanding issue from the
previous discussion is MNG-1317, which Kenney has graciously agreed to
debug and (hopefully) fix tomorrow. There are also two other open issues
pending in JIRA, but these are tasks that will be executed during the
release process, so shouldn't hold up the vote.

Regardless of whether MNG-1317 is fixed, I think we've got plenty of
reason to release 2.0.3 now. We've got two critical fixes for the SSH
network transport, improved quoted-argument handling for *nix
environments, plus all of the fixes mentioned in the previous vote
message. All in all, 24-25 issues will be fixed for this release.

I'm calling this re-vote to ensure that everyone has had a chance to
look over the work we've done in the past week or so. This release
shouldn't come out of the blue sky for anyone at this point. :-)

Here's a binary we can use as the most current RC (RC2?). I'll send
another message with a new link if/when Kenney gets MNG-1317 fixed.

Are people testing this release candidate before voting +1? There have
been previous point releases with major bugs that would have come to
light before the release if people had actually tested the binary first
and I hope others aside from myself learned from that mistake. I plan
on holding off on my vote until there is a final binary with Kenney's
fix which I can test with our product build. If that's successful, it
gets my +1. John, I appreciate your links to release candidates - I

Subject: [vote] Release Maven 2.0.3 (second attempt)

I'll send
another message with a new link if/when Kenney gets MNG-1317 fixed.

http://maven.zones.apache.org/~maven/builds/branches/maven-2.0.x/m2-2006
0302.181503.tar.gz

Let's do the customary 72h vote, +1/0/-1.

Here's my +1.

Thanks,

John

I was pleasently surprised to find 2 issues that where bumped to 2.0.4 are
actually fixed in 2.0.3: mng-2054 and mng-2068. There are test cases attached
to these issues that I'd like to see end up as IT core tests to prevent future
regression. Given the late hour and my non experience with IT tests, perhaps
someone could convert them and add them?

Thanks,

2006-02-23 Thread Michael Böckling
Don't want to be annoying, but I'd be really happy if anyone could
upgrade WAGONSSH-36 to blocker.
This is the last big remaining issue for us (and our customers). Nightly
site deployments with Continuum are made impossible by this one!

+1

I tested it with our full product build and it appears to work well. I
would like to see WAGONSSH-36 fixed if possible - the fix is so trivial
I don't know why it hasn't been integrated already.

I'm also looking forward to the upcoming site and cobertura releases!

I tested it with our full product build and it appears to work well. I
would like to see WAGONSSH-36 fixed if possible - the fix is so trivial
I don't know why it hasn't been integrated already.

I'm also looking forward to the upcoming site and cobertura releases!
