Re: [OSM-dev] multipolygon relation and non-closed ways

2012-10-16 Thread Willi
Well, I care about the mapper who is interested in an agreed final result
and doesn't want to spend his time reading the opinion of individual
persons. Just for this there's a talk page for each wiki page. When
interested you can subscribe to the talk page separately. If the talk page
isn't enough additional pages can be easily created.

Hi Willi.

Sorry to read your negative opinion. I think a better and more detailed wiki
page helps osm, irrespectively of edit history. I don't see why editing and
refining a page is bad. Sure things can always be done better, but the
beauty of wikis is that you can update them fast without going through a
comitee.

All changes except minor should be discussed on the Talk page first. Even if
you are the expert and are 200% sure that what you are writing is correct it

I'm afraid more mapper will turn away from Wiki pages when they neither can

Maybe we should just rename stuff in the interface then: red = first
version created by non-agreeing user, orange = first version created
by undecided user, yellow = later version created by non-agreeing or
 undecided user ?

Imho the plugin should only report simply the facts as long as there's no
definitive decision from the licence working group, e.g.:

Green: all versions by users who agreed already.
Red: all versions by disagreeing users and users who didn't vote yet.
Yellow: all other cases.

It's up to the individual mapper to look at further details and act.

[josm-dev] mappaint.nameOrder=name:en name doesn't work anymore

2011-04-08 Thread Willi
I used the JOSM setting mappaint.nameOrder=name:en name to get the English
name if available otherwise the local Thai name e.g. for this area

http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=16.36062
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=16.36062lon=102.80124zoom=14
lon=102.80124zoom=14

Unfortunately this seems not to work anymore. With the above settings no names
are painted. Without this setting I get the local Thai name first.

How can I achieve the old behavior: English name first?

I’ve attached a JOSM status report.

Willi

[OSM-dev] JOSM GPX export doesn't export the names of nodes

2011-03-11 Thread Willi
JOSM GPX export converts the name of the way to name of the track but not the
names of the nodes to names of the trackpoints.

Is there a variable in the settings to change this or should I write a ticket

Thanks for the immediate help. I didn't think that it's that simple. Adding
tms:file:///D:/OSM/osm_then in the URL field and 19 in the Zoom field
did the job.

I would like to add this to the Wiki. Please let me know to which page it
should go.

 the urls must look like.

If you get it to work probably add a short chapter at the Maps page, so
other users also know how to do.

[josm-dev] Imagery problem with zoom 19

2011-01-22 Thread Willi
Thanks for your immediate help. Problem solved. And also thanks a lot for
this great tool.

In the Settings tab max zoom is set to 25.
In the Providers tab the field zoom was empty for all providers. I entered
20 for osm-then, closed settings with OK and restarted JOSM to be sure, it
works now.
I'm wondering a little bit because with Bing Sat I can increase the zoom
level over 18 despite the zoom field for provider Bing Sat is empty.
