[Dev] [IS] Foreign key references from Identity tables to User Manager tables
Hi IS team, We have encountered the following issue when running the identity mysql script before the user manager tables. ERROR 1005 (HY000): Can't create table 'WSO2CARBON_DB.IDN_ASSOCIATED_ID' (errno: 150) ERROR 1005 (HY000): Can't create table 'WSO2CARBON_DB.UM_USER_ACCOUNT_ASSOCIATIONS' (errno: 150) This is because there is a foreign key dependency to UM_DOMAIN table in user manager tables from the above tables. Therefore both the identity tables and user manager tables should be in a single database. With that how can we setup a cluster with the database seperation? Appreciate your help. Re: [Dev] [DEV] Problem regarding Transaction Handling in MySQL
Hi all, The problem was solved by changing the database engine type to innoDB. Previously it was set to MyISAM which does not provide transactional support. Thank you On Wed, May 27, 2015 at 10:20 AM, Sasikala Kottegoda sasik...@wso2.com wrote: Hi all, MB stores message metadata and content in two separate tables. Currently, message metadata is being deleted once the messages are delivered, but the content is not (deleted later by a scheduled task). What I'm trying to do is to delete (transactional delete) both message metadata and content once they get delivered. For this, I have created two prepared statements. I add messages to these two statements and execute the batches as shown below. for (AndesRemovableMetadata md : messagesToRemove) { //add parameters to delete metadata metadataRemovalPreparedStatement.setInt(1, queueID); metadataRemovalPreparedStatement.setLong(2, md.getMessageID()); metadataRemovalPreparedStatement.addBatch(); //add parameters to delete content contentRemovalPreparedStatment.setLong(1, md.getMessageID()); contentRemovalPreparedStatment.addBatch(); } metadataRemovalPreparedStatement.executeBatch(); contentRemovalPreparedStatment.executeBatch(); connection.commit(); This works fine in a normal scenario. But when I kill the MB node (which acts as the SQL client) suddenly, it seems like the execution of the second prepared statement is not completed. Meaning that, even though the metadata is removed from the respective table, the content is not. When I interchange the statement executions, metadata gets left in the metadata table and content gets deleted. Could I please know what I'm doing wrong? Also, another solution to this would be to add a foreign key constraint to the content table to enable cascade delete. Would that be a better approach? Re: [Dev] [MB] Revamping MB Test Framework to cut down time.
Hi Ramith, Yes TestNg provides the facility of running tests in parallel. Considering carbon servers the only possible level is in methods level you can achieve this by defining parallel property in testNg.xml as follows suite name=Test-method Suite parallel=methods thread-count=2 Since we are performing configuration level changes such as server startup and user deployment in listener level , parallel level test execution on Test and Suite level will not be possible. But you may be able to execute test methods parallel. But we have to test what will happen is depend on and priorities are used in method level. As per our experience your test suite must be matured and 100% confident before peeping out to this. When it come to test failure it is really hard to debug. So what i recommend at the moment is make the tests stable and confident before moving in to this. Thank you, Dharshana. Re: [Dev] [CEP] what are the data types supported by siddhi?
Hi Lasantha, there is no issue using int instead of byte and short for calculation purposes. but my concern is also the size of the event. In DAS, if we choose to persist the streams, then using 32 bits for 8 bits will be inefficient IMO. so, +1 for introducing 8 16 bit data types as a future improvement. cheers On Mon, Jun 8, 2015 at 11:55 AM, Lasantha Fernando lasan...@wso2.com wrote: Hi Niranda, On 8 June 2015 at 10:50, Mohanadarshan Vivekanandalingam mo...@wso2.com wrote: On Mon, Jun 8, 2015 at 9:21 AM, Niranda Perera nira...@wso2.com wrote: Hi suho, I'm thinking about byte (8 bit) and short (16 bit) data types. Sorry about the confusion. If you simply need to transfer data as a number, but concerned about using an int or long because of the additional capacity, then as Mohan said, an int should suffice for most use cases. But IMHO, still having at least byte type might be useful if we want to conserve the size of events being transferred. i.e. it might be useful in specific use cases where a large no of attributes are being sent in an event which only need 8-bits to represent that number. Some other event processing systems do support byte as a possible data type [1]. @Suho, Mohan wdyt? Won't we have some event size reduction for specific use cases if byte type was introduced, maybe as a future improvement? [Dev] CipherTool - Use of true/false flag in cipher-tool.properties
Hi Asela, Currently I am refracting the CipherTool code and noticed that in cipher-tool.properties [1], it is mentioned to set the value after the xpath as *false* if xml element starts with capital letter else *true*. In the code [2], we check for this value, but it is not used. Shall I remove this parameter? [Dev] [MDM] Modifying invite-user functionality of MDM
Guys, I'm planning to do the $Subject. Right now we ourselves have implemented a functionality where an email is triggered upon creating users. However, this particular functionality appears to be already there with a much better implementation as part of IS components. What it does is, adminstrators can opt to create a user in the user management system with ask user for password option, which would automatically trigger an email with a preconfigured template when the user creation is all done. Then the user can log into the MDM console and set himself a password for further use. We can even enforce captcha validation using the existing functionality in IS. Once this step is done, we can then go on to invite users for enrolling their devices. Please shout if there's any issue with the above suggested approach. [Dev] [IS] Retrieving the status of a user created with ask user for password option
IS Team, Let's assume that I'm going to create a user in the user management system with ask user for password option. Once this is done, what status is the created user assigned with up to the point where he sets himself an appropriate password? Do we assign some value like inactive till the user sets an appropriate password? To further elaborate my requirement, I have a page in MDM which lists down the users created within the user management system. At a given point, I (some administrator) should be able to invite an active user in the system to get their devices enrolled. There, I'd enable the invite button only if the user is indicated active. To determine whether I should enable the aforesaid UI option to a given user or not, I first need to retrieve their status. Do we have any mechanism that could effectively be used for this purpose already in any identity component? Any direction/pointer on getting this implemented is much appreciated. [Dev] WSO2 Identity Server OAuth configuration issues
I'm having a not so pleasant, to say the least, experience configuring WSO2 Identify Server, in particular with OAuth2. Currently I'm following https://docs.wso2.com/display/IS500/Adding+a+Service+Provider and after step #4 I see only a blank screen, nothing like in the step #5. I'm running the latest WSO2 Identity Server with patch on MacOS 10.10.3, Java 8 (yes, doesn't say it's supported but if it breaks there you are probably doing something bad). Hi All, I tried to write a integration test for the carbon kernel. but we need to have a secured service to reproduce the issue. therefore rampart modules should be in kernel lib folder. as per off-line chat with niranjan sameera, we can't copy those jars into kernel lib folder. therefore I will write integration tests for the DSS git branch. @Niranjan Can you apply the changes to the kernel patch0011, Our ETA to the customer was Monday. Re: [Dev] [MDM] Modifying invite-user functionality of MDM
Hi guys, The usual approach will work fine for normal web application scenarios where the user is invited to the web app. But our scenario is specific where the user mainly uses the account to enroll the device. The problem Harshan mention is critical if we follow the proposed approach. How about we do this - when the admin creates the user, the a default password is generated and email to the user as previously. The account, however - is setup with limited permission whereby the user can only perform device enrollment. When the user logs into the MDM console we prompt the user to change his password since he is using a default generated password. [Dev] [Carbon] Carbon Managed Thread Pool Implementation

Once this step is done, we can then go on to invite users for enrolling their devices. Please shout if there's any issue with the above suggested approach. Re: [Dev] SSLException in cluster
Hi Sajith, It could be due to public key of the elb-km.appm.wso2.com:9443 (nginx) not being available in the publisher side key-store.
