A simple standalone app with no need for tweaking anything. Great work. Switching back and forth between Squeezeplay and a synced Touch they're indistinguishable. Kind of makes the Touch redundant now, since my Mac is always on and runs my LMS. I guess the only possible inconvenience is the fact that the Mac runs headless, and I need to fire up a VNC viewer to go in and restart Squeezeplay each time the DAC is powered up. Any chance you could make Squeezeplay poll for the current default output device and follow it, rather than just latching on to it at startup? [slim] Deezer - limitation of albums displayed
Hi I've encountered very strange behaviour of Deezer app. I've added via www and Deezer iOS app 231 albums to favourites. But Squeezebox displays only 200. Anyone else encountered that problem? Is there any workaround to avoid this 200 limitation? Something in config files? Update - unfortunately the 3rd party plug-in does not work as well as I first assumed. Having used it for a couple of days, it can on average play approx 5 minutes before it stops playback... Conclusion - If your intention is to play music from a USB hard drive - the touch works alright. Also the touch as well as the radio works fine for internet radio if you can live with the occasional re-boot of the players. [slim] Streaming from other media servers to Squeezebox
I bought a new Philips TV and when trying the android app I realized that I can start a Philips media server (SimplyShare) and it is now possible to stream music to my Squeezebox (Duet) directly from any source that the app can access. All normal information and pictures are visible on the squeezebox controller when streaming this way. As a matter a fact my squeezbox is now also visible to other Apps, but until now it has not been possible to actually stream from those apps to my Squeezebox (Server is not working). I have not seen this kind of features before when using other Media Servers, but I like the possibility of streaming from other sources than those available to LMS/MySqueezebox. Hi, I recently accuired a new (and very nice) Samsung UE46ES8005 TV that has tons of features and connectivity. I just can't seem to find a way to stream the sound from the TV to the Squeezebox Duet attached to my stereo. Probably the TV need some SW to act as media server - has anyone heard of such a setup? Can't do that, nor would you want to for video. Your Samsung TV cannot act as the server for anything, including SqueezeBox players. If your TV is close enough to the PC you have running LMS, you might try running an audio cable between them and using the 'WaveInput plugin' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?35718-Announce-Wave-Input-plugin-v1-00highlight=waveinput+plugin). Whatever audio is on the TV will now be available to all connected SB devices though it may be a bit delayed. If you want to hear the TV audio through your stereo, just run a cable from the TV audio out to an AUX input on your stereo. [slim] iPeng falling out of synch with server
Seemed solid over the last few weeks, now it becomes unresponsive, and I have to flush the cache to regain functionality. Has happened at least 10 times over the last 24 hours. I'll admit that I'm a complete newbie when it comes to iPeng iPhones in general. Any suggestions with the limited info I have provided as far as things to check that might to make sure stuff is working correctly. All squeezebox devices in the apartment functioning correctly with their own remotes, and through LMS. Thanks for any assistance. Hm, what do you mean with out of synch with server? Could you explain exactly what happens, I don't really understand the problem from your description. Could you send me a diagnostics mail from within iPeng? Just tap the mail link under Help. I just mean that trying to play a song or album no longer works all the time...sometimes I have to tap the play button three or four times to get the song to play. Sometimes I can't get it to play no matter what I do without clearing the cache and trying again. After a few commands are sent through the iPhone to change the playlist, the unresponsive keystrokes will start again. Seems that is most prevalent when trying to switch albums, or change tracks using the play button...the iphone registers that the button is being pressed, but the player doesn't respond...sometimes hitting the key repeatedly will eventually change the album, and sometimes not. When I keep my finger pressed over a title in the music folder, I then get the prompt that gives me the option to play the album now in it's entirety, play next, or add to the end of the playlist. When I click the play choice, nothing happens...whereas before the album started playing immediately. If I tap a few times, then sometimes the album will start, and sometimes not. mhh. I think there are 2 versions of netcat in existence and they behave slightly differently when it comes to end of lines. Perhaps something like this would work better for you: echo -e serverstatus\nexit\n | netcat localhost 9090 . I am not sure. But anyway, it looks like the server is fine, that's a good start. (BTW, all the %3A, %20 and so on you get on return are normal, the server url-encodes characters. %3A is :, %20 is and so on (The ASCII code for : is 3A in hexadecimal notation. Grab an ASCII table and you can work your way around. Or use an escaping/unescaping lib. I'm unsure on exactly how this works. I don't have logitechs spotify app installed at all it is not necessary when you have triodes app/plugin (unless you wan't to turn of the server ). But if you have both I suggest using the orange spotify icon . I don't have sync problems , in general if one player in a sync group has network problems it could get unstable.
