[slim] RSS Feed Reader - Squeezebox Alternative?
Well, it finally happened - my SB3 has died. I have a backup Touch which I had purchased a while ago as well as a Raspberry Pi that could be put into service. However, one of the features I enjoy on the SB3 is the RSS news ticker. I often read the feeds on my SB3 as I go to sleep or when I wake up since it is on my bedside table. Is anyone aware of a product (or a fairly easy DIY project) which might fill this requirement? I have done some Googling but not really come up with much. -Chris ChrisNY's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5004 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100493 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Orange Squeeze 1.0 for Android Released
I downloaded this app tonight and from my preliminary use it seems quite nice. 2 items I noticed when using it on my Motorola Droid (Original): I can only select items from the main screen if I tap to the right hand side of the screen. Tapping the icons on the left shows a quick highlight but no action. I find I am constantly changing the order of items on the screen unintentionally when I scroll up and down. Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity? I guess it's more of a catch-all for a station which doesn't keep itself restricted to a particular genre/style. So while you'd get deluged with nonstop bluegrass on the Bluegrass station, the eclectic station would mix one bluegrass song followed by a folk or jazz tune. Since upgrading to 6.5, I have some odd issues with the web interface: When I click on artists, albums, etc. it returns a blank list and it says ARRAY(0x5e5ce0c) next to the Home link. Also, when I try to go to server settings I get a Page Not Found message...I am running on Windows XP Home. Any options besides re-installing? -- ChrisNY ChrisNY's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5004 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27943 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Re: Universal Remote?
I have found one of the best things about the Harmony series of remotes is the ability for the customer support team to update your configuration online and then just ask you to re-synch the remote to get the updates. I have had them do this type of thing to help change the order my components power up etc. -- ChrisNY ChrisNY's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5004 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25803 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Re: Slimserver over Internet?
Thanks to all the previous postings, I've got a SSH connection and can connect softsqueeze to my Slimserver. The problem I have now is that even though I am connected the softsqueeze client is not showing up on my Slimserver player listing. I need to limit the bitrate for the Softsqueeze but can't do this because there's nothing showing up in the server...Any ideas? I am using Slimerver 6.2.2 on Windows XP and using OpenSSH. [slim] Re: squeezeboxes flying off the shelves?
I've got one co-worker who has it at the top of his Chanukah list for next year... Unfortunately, most of the people I've tried to share my Squeezebox excitement with don't really get it. My wife has admitted that she's a convert now that she's been using it for a while. Most folks politely say Oh, that sounds pretty interesting and then change the subject...Even when I tell them its Open Source and constantly evolving! Ah well, at least I have the forums here to converse with like minded folk. -Chris -- ChrisNY ChrisNY's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5004 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23505 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
