[slim] OT: Bluesound as a Slimdevice replacement?
Hi all Please excuse me if this is off topic, if so then please delete this thread. I just picked up at Bluesound Node (see http://www.bluesound.com/products/node) as a replacement for my SB3. It's made by NAD and I must say that the Node is very promising. It's works just like a Sonos where the music is placed on a NAS which in my case is a Raspberry PI and a USB harddisk. At the moment I'm using the buildin DAC which sounds more or less like the one in SB3. Sound quality is better than the Sonos Connect which I had on trial prior to getting the Bluesound. [slim] Can't get radio to work on SB3 + Mac Mini
Hi all I have a Mac Mini that host all my music. The setup is as follows: SB3 - ethernet - Mac - wifi - router - modem - isp Normal file playback is fine, it's only internet radio that fails. Opening the radio channels in a normal browser works fine. The Mac has internet access, I'm writing this post from it. I can browse the available radio channels on the SB3 but when I press play nothing happens. The GUI says connecting for a few seconds then the status goes back to stopped. Selecting mysqueezebox.com as music source on the SB3 fails too (Yes, I am signed in). Does anyone have a similar setup that can help me debug? Re: [slim] Can't get radio to work on SB3 + Mac Mini
Yes, it's a wired connection between the SB3 and the Mac. I really don't want to switch to wireless since I'll loose the WOL feature. Also I seem to remember that it's not recommend to have both the server and the SB3 on wireless. Is that still the case? I have shared my internet connection between wifi and ethernet. At least I think I have. But something is keeping the SB3 from connecting. I guessing that radio streaming is working for others and I was hoping to find someone with a similar setup. -- Husted Husted's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5248 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73419 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Currently I'm not so impressed by iPeng. 1) It didn't find my server automatically as other has reported. Entering the IP address of my server (192.168.1.120:9000) helped. 2) A minute or two after it found my server it crashed and I was returned to springboard. 3) Restarting iPeng and it seemed to work, switching to Album view and the album arts starts to download. But the artwork is in odd sizes and is overlapped each other. iPeng froze and I had to a hard reset. 4) Couldn't restart iPeng again, it would not find my server no matter what I did. Removed and reinstalled iPeng to get it somewhat working again. 5) iPeng just caused my iPhone to restart, it was not just quitting to Springboard but crashed Springboard so I had to enter my passcode again. [slim] Can't get SB3 to connect to server anymore (OS X)
Hi all, I've run into a problem where I can't get my SB3 to connect to the server anymore. I have tried to reset the SB3. My setup is as follows. A SB3 is connected directly to a Mac Mini via an Ethernet cable, no wireless. The Mini is running Leopard 10.5.1. On the Mini the Ethernet is set to Manually configuration and the IP is 192.168.1.30, subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 Starting up a webbrowser I can go to 192.168.1.30:9000 and see SqueezeCenter. The SB3 does boot and allow me to choose networking to static address. I've giving the SB3 the address 192.168.1.40, subnet is set to 255.255.255.0. gateway and dns is set to 0. Music source is set to 192.168.1.30. Is there anything wrong with the above setup? I'm not using a crossover cable, it hasn't been a problem before. But just for fun I've found an old switch to put in between but it didn't help. I think my problems began when I tried to enable DHCP on the Mini. Thats a normal one, don't have a crossover at hand. It has been working for a couple of month. I did find a switch which I hooked up but that didn't help. -- Husted Husted's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5248 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42169 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I've switched to Mac's just recently and I'm not as comfortable in this environment as I was in XP. [slim] SB3, active speakers and subwoofer issue
Hi all, I have a setup with a DB3 connected directly to a pair of active speakers (they have a RCA input and automatically powers on). Now I want to add a subwoofer but have run into a issue, how to I connect the subwoofer? The subwoofer I want to use is the BW PV1 which has a high WAF :-) Problem is that is that it only has a single input and no output. So how would you connect the PV1 to my setup? The PV1 retailer suggested that I connect a Y-splitter to one of the audio channel and have one channel that feeds both the subwoofer and the active speaker. Will this work, can the SB3 drive both the PV1 and the active speaker on one channel? [slim] New adding song to playlist feature?
Hi all, I have a request for another way of adding songs to the playlist. Please let me know if such plugin is already available of if Slimserver already can be configured this way, thanks. Let's say that the user is selecting song 1 from album A. When song 1 is finished (and nothing was added) the remaining songs in album A should play. Now while song 1 from album A is playing the user adds song 3 from album B and song 4 from album C. The playlist should now look like this: Song 1 album A - Song 3 album B - Song 4 album C - remaining songs from album C. Can this be done? There's an option in Slimserver that automatically will play all songs in the current album (forgot the exact name of the feature) but adding new songs will push them to the end of the playlist (which includes all songs from the current album), not after the song that was initial selected by the user. Slimserver will have to keep track of which files are in the playlist because they where added and which is added indirectly. Did this make sense? -- Husted Husted's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5248 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25584 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Re: New adding song to playlist feature?
Thanks, I didn't know that. I hope that it only adds the selected song and not the entire album, I'll give it a try once I get home. -- Husted Husted's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5248 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25584 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
