Thanks - but considering I've had problems with 7.6.0 (it would only
scan a small proportion of my library) and 7.7.0 (I got the hugely
useful message There appears to be a software conflict - which genius
wrote that error message?) I'll stick with what I have for the time

I have the Touch, which may be ahead of my PC as I tried to install

7.5.5

When you get the message to update on the Touch, it should state the
version. Check it's approriate.

But, you do realise that server is now up to 7.7.1 ? I can't guarantee
you won't have problems upgrading ... but maybe worth considering.

Once the Touch and server are in sync then switch off the updating in
the server gui settings.

I thought so too, but as long as you have an update pending, i.e.
downloaded on your local server, you will continue to get that message.
I beleive and could be wrong, what that setting does is stop the LMS
from downloading any new updates. Once I changed the setting and
installed the upadte the message as gone away. Hope that helps, Bob

I too am being continually pestered by the update available message

The reason I don't want to upgrade is that my experience of upgrading
to 7.6.0 was a total disaster. Hours spent getting anything like a
reasonably working system. Eventually went back to 7.5.5

Later I re-installed XP on my server PC, so decided to give 7.7.0 a go.
I got a message saying There is a software conflict. How useful is
that message?!

Again, went back to 7.5.5

Now, I have a system that plays my music, shows me album art, plays
Spotify, internet radio, and even works with the Android app on my
phone.

I'm a reasonably happy bunny.

What is close to driving me to Sonos is:

I have attempted to disabled the update in the
Settings/Advanced/Software Updates. It doesn't work.

Me and all the other users in my family are plagued by the pop-up.
Fortunately none of us runs as an administrator, so hopefully the
upgrade would not be installed even if someone clicked on it.

However, I get the occasional message on the player itself, asking me
to upgrade. I know how to get rid of it, but I have had my wife call me
at work asking what to do when she wants to listen to the radio. For
software to do this when it has been set not to is (to me) totally
unacceptable.

Sort these issues out Logitech please!

1. If you are going to let an upgrade out into the wild, test it
properly first.
2. If, for very good reasons, users don't want to accept an upgrade,
don't keep forcing it down our throats.

End of rant!

What's the name of the application that owns the popup windows.

I'm not sure of the source for the Windows application is available to

I am also a bit annoyed by this as I am trialling SBS on my PC and
switching regularly between SBS on my NAS and SBS on my PC for one of
my players (I am trying out Triode's Spotify plugin). As the NAS
currently only supports 7.5.1 that is the version I want on the PC as
well.

Unfortunately that means that I, and anyone else using the PC, gets
these continuous messages informing me that there is an upgrade
available.

I find myself internally screaming at the PC
-I *know* there is an upgrade available, you have nagged me a hundred
times already, and I will upgrade as soon as I can but not right
now!-

Every other program with an update bubble that I have come across gives
you the option to:
- upgrade now
- postpone the upgrade for a set period of time
- stop any further reminders for this particular upgrade

Logitech need to implement this very sensible protocol for the PC
installation. On the NAS you can turn off reminders in the settings.
