I now see the nightly Windows build there. I have downloaded it and installed. Attempting to launch SlimServer via a command prompt with slim.exe --noupnp still does not launch SlimServer and still gives the same error message: 2006-07-14 10:45:26.4209 AysncHTTP: No DNS servers responded, you may have trouble with network connections. From the command line, and you get no other messages? It just stops? BTW, you do have a DNS problem that you should solve. I am guessing it is because I am running this on my work network. Unfortunetly, things are back the same again today. SlimServer constantly shutting down. I have attempted to start it via command prompt: c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe --noupnp. But that does not start SlimServer. It brings up a list of options of which --noupnp is not one of them. upnp is enabled in the router. If it's an early 6.3.0 something you might give the 6.3.1 a try. I have already read the article you list below but it does not say whether the setting is TCP or UDP Yes, I can ping the squeezebox from my computer I looked in the Event Viewer, it states that Windows Defender was blocking Slim.exe. I couldn't find anyway in Windows Defender to allow Slim.exe so I removed Windows Defender. However, I then added slim.exe to the program exception list and for a brief moment it connected to the squeezebox before the slimserver software shut down (page cannot be displayed). The event viewer shows the following twice. I have rebooted the machine and SlimServer now communicates with the Squeezebox. However, after playing for a short while SlimServer shuts down (page cannot be displayed). Can you temporarily turn off upnp for those? alternatively, try running the server from a command prompt: c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe --noupnp That should avoid the problem and let you at least connect. I'll have to leave a real solution for Andy.
