Anyways: I thought that I'd make it easier for ya by reinstalling Reinstalling everything should imho be done on a clean disk. Otherwise you'll end up with an odd mixture of different installations. EVERYTHING. After installing SS I obtained a short log file. What does that tell you? If you posted it here, I could probably tell. I took my chances and did a fresh systeminstall since the system has behaved somewhat erratic (and I REALLY wants this to work). What puzzled me, among others, was that I was presented with no admin pw on installing SS (neither SC 7.0a for that matter). It didn't happen this time either thou now i was prompted for an admin pw when changing Start server options - NB. this last time after a total system install I have only tried to install SS 6.4.1. These measures didn't move me further much; still a dim Web Access button :-( Before this I did plenty of attempts to install, trashing whatever files in Libraries and in Preferencepanes. Apart from the 23 MB large Log file remaining since installing SS under Tiger (when btw SS worked) ONLY one file w/o exception has been installed, namely SS or SC pref panels. No log files!!! Not to forget some of os have put down substantial investments in hardware which will not function because of erratic software. Who is responsible? hey michael, i think i only tried sc quickly and when it did the same thing, i went back to 655 and tossed all the sc stuff. to make sure, where is the sc folder? i remember having this issue a while ago, like a year, but i can't remember how i solved it. i do remember there was something specific i figured out and that fixed it, but... can't remember what.. lol. any ideas? i have 3 squeezeboxes and they are all lying sadly dormant this week... it's really a household tragedy. YES! I read your Qs and have laid out the facts EXACTLY as it looks on my harddrive. I have done 2 more fresh installs after searching for squeezecenter and slimserver to possibly trash whatever I can find. Repair has been performed on disk permissions and restart too. After all these measures the ONLY file to be found is SC in pref panels. No logs, no folders (and the problem still there) No SS 6.5 running on this computer. I DIDN'T say there was a log file named Squeezecenter created feb -06 but a SLIMSERVER log file created that month. Are you sure you don't have a 6.5.x still running somewhere? slimserver.log isn't used any more in SC7, and in February the name SqueezeCenter didn't exist yet. Thus a file slimserver.log would never have been created in a folder called SqueezeCenter. As you've found a log file, would you mind posting the last week's part as an attachment? Please make sure you verify /Library... (the system's Library folder) as well as ~/Library (your user's Library folder). I also have an issue with the latest version of SqueezeCenter not working on Leopard (10.5.1). I have the latest version of the iMac. The software installs, but in the pref pane the web access is greyed out. I previously had 6.5.5 installed, but was having issues getting it to recognize updates to my itunes library. I'm having trouble with Leopard too.. Mario, Did you install SC system wide (for all users) or for you only? It looks as if couldn't find it's configuration file. Please try installing it for all users Could you please uninstall it, remove anything SC/SS related and try again? I updated to the latest nightly on Leopard without any issue. Did you have a previous version of Slim that worked ok? Are you hooked up via wi-fi? If you think it's a software issue, I would simply uninstall slim and reinstall a fresh 7.0. Be sure to go to your userpref folder and also delete the Squeezecenter preferance pane. I installed yesterdays nightly and it worked ok. Hmmm, you could try repairing permissions and see what happens. If that doesn't work I would try installing 6.X over the top of 7.0 and if that works, you could install 7.0 again. Mabye unplug your Squeezebox for a minute?
