Slimdevices and Logitech could never justify the vast amounts of storage space needed to actually host peoples music collections, but with Amazon and Google doing that part of it, it opens up a lot more scope for Squeezenetwork or LMS to hook into these services as well as having local content and radio streams manages in the same interface. Interesting times ahead I hope. I hope they are headed in this direction. I am keeping my fingers crossed that one day cloud storage will be inexpensive enough for me to store my music and access it from anywhere. Thanks to Audioglaxy, I already have a taste for it, but it will be great if Logitech can make mobile access to my collection easier, and I have a feeling the Cloud may be the long term solution. Even though the Touch is a great addition to the range, lately (at least to me, as an 'outsider') it kinda felt they didn't take the SB-platform really serious anymore. Discontinuing the Receiver without replacement, the Radio is becoming of age too... At the same time, the competition with the white boxy design is grabbing market share amongst a wider audience. Let's hope Logitech can turn this into a success once more, like they did with the Harmony remotes. :D hvb83's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39615 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95285 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Schindler wrote: On his homepage, andy is not working for logitech some other firm Don't jump to conclusions based on limited info. Andy's linkedin profile still has Logitech as current employer and a homepage (there may be more than one) of andy's seems not to have been updated and shows an employer previous to Slimdevices. Andy's last logged into this forum on 17th May so he could be just busy on moving repository to git, on vacation or perhaps helping interview/induct new employees which were advertised a few weeks ago. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95285 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

There have been no beta releases available for 2 weeks or so now and Michael and Andy who both used to post regularly have been absent. I hope that it's because they're busy final testing the new range of Squeezeboxes that they are about to announce (pure speculation) HeadBanger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38024 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95285 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

So they are evolving the project to be easier to maintain and in one conversation it was mentioned that some development in making it easier for new app providers to maintain they own app was discussed . (there seems to be a new radio or music service avaible every week and logitech can't possible keep up ) The speculation that something is going on is probably not completely unfounded :) Hopefully there is new squeezeboxes ,but it could be a more anticlimactic resolve when they finished moving thier project . If you wan't to fuel more speculation where are certain forum members have they got some beta hardware and talking in a hidden beta forum ! , or just got bored and moved on in life ? I have a vague impression that mysb.com is relocating on the internet. Now some addresses resolve to Amazon AWS and I think this is new. Plus I see a few souls complain about DNS issues accessing to mysb.com these days. If this speculation has some truth in it, I expect the guys to be totally absorbed by that task.
