They both have the appropriate names in Album Artist tag in all the files. I just double checked that. When you say list albums by band, do you mean the check box Band/Orchestra on the Library tab? If so then no I didn't have that on. I'm just rebuilding now, I have 25000 songs so it takes a bit. What's weird is that Bob Seager's greatest hits is fine. I wonder if it's first artist A and last artist Z related. Though that would be a wild bug. Re: [slim] Flac On Ipod in Cars
I have to disagree that you can't tell the difference between 320vbr and lossless in Cars. It really depends on the car and the amount of road noise transferred to the cabin. My current cars factory head unit play wma lossles native off a USB key. I did a back to back comparison between lossless and 320kbps vbr and was actually surprised that I could hear a difference. My last car had DVD-A support and it was night day different than regular CDs. That said I couldn't tell the difference on my Zune or computer speakers. Goodsounds;410552 Wrote: Not to state the obvious, but one solution that many people use would be to have two folders, one with your flacs and a duplicate folder with the music in a lossy format (using high quality setting) for your car and portable players. Lossy files produce sound from such hardware that most people, even picky ones, find to be quite acceptable. Keeping lossless files to play in a car seems like overkill to me. Some software will rip both lossless and lossy to different folders in one pass. Converting folders from one format to another is easily done in batch jobs. Set it and forget it, as the guy on the infomercial says. I use the two folder approach, and I find it to be quite useful with minimal effort required. Drive storage is cheap, so that is no issue. With your squeeze system, keeping your lossless files in a format with disadvantages and no significant advantages is a shame. I can't tell the difference on my Zune but I can in my car as crazy as that sounds. Not much road noise in my car. My collection is approaching 2TB of lossless. So a second lame -c0 collection does actually make the disc situation more complicated than it needs to be. It's liveable over 3G but it would be nice if it was already cached. I have a need for speed. My server definately isn't an issue, I'm runnin a Core 2 Quad @ 3.25 GHZ/4GB Ram/4 1 TB Blacks in a Raid 10, 64 bit Windows Server 2008 R2. Actual FLAC files are on an external Raid 0 enclosure. All the server does is host a couple very low traffic websites and squeeze center. -- Jeff Flowerday Jeff Flowerday's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15883 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80940 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Of course, you're free to do want you want with your money. If pippin makes too much on the iphone app he may not bother finishing the ipad version ;) That's a little below the belt ain't it? I wouldn't dare to make statements in regard to how many iPengs have been sold world-wide, but I'd guess it's closer to 1000 than to 1. If you look at the way the app has been designed and how it's been perfected, you just know there is a lot of development in this app. Even if he did earn 20.000 by selling this app, in my opinion, that ain't too much. There are plenty of guys in the appstore developing useless apps, that are poorly designed and shameless copies of concepts designed by others in years gone by, who earn a whole lot more by selling their apps. And iPad is even more scarce, so I'm guessing iPeng HD will deliver even less revenues to the developer. Although ofcourse, most of the knowledge that has been gathered while building iPeng for iPhone can be reused, so development time is probably less too. At the same time, knowing the way Pippin seems to work, he is working hard on finding a smart way for the UI that utilizes the iPad's larger screen. I'm guessing it will be a totally different experience from Squeezepad too, which works fine, but I still find myself using my iPeng everytime because SP doesn't use the large screen in a smart way. Almost demanding an upgrade from iPhone to iPad seems a bit odd in that sense: it will be a totally different app. Anyhow, the point is, ofcourse it's ok for you to decide what you will and will not buy. But they will be 2 totally different apps and therefor it is ok for the developer to offer it as a separate package and have you pay for them. At 7.99 it's not that steep, not if you can afford to buy an iPad anyway.. ;) 1. Don't be silly, there's nothing below the belt in my post. 2. I'm not demanding a free upgrade, I'm just considering getting the iphone version while I eagerly wait for the real thing. Regards, Peter I'd get the iPhone version, until you wait for iPeng HD. It's feature set is more complete than squeezepad and you then would have it for a touch or phone if you ever went that way down the road. -- Jeff Flowerday Jeff Flowerday's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15883 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74581 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

First bug for you. If you go into current playlist, click edit, select all tracks and delete them. You then close the current playlist popout and add a new track to the current playlist. When you go back into the playlist it doesn't show that track you just added. If you click the save button but then cancel out it seems to cause a refresh on the playlist and the tracks then properly show up. -- Jeff Flowerday Jeff Flowerday's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15883 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82681 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

My first request: Not stretch the art on the now playing screen if the art isn't high enough resolution. All my art is 500x500 but starts looking a little fuzzy if stretched.
