Issue with Fixutre loading with multiple test cases on Postgres - duplicate key value violates unique constraint

2020-02-24 Thread Lokesh

class Test1(TestCase):
fixtures = ['fixture.json']

@classmethod
def tearDownClass(cls):
super(TestCase, cls).tearDownClass()

def test_demo(self):
u = User.objects.get(username='testuser1')
#some testing - removed actual tests as we can replicate the issue with
even this code

class Test2(TestCase):
fixtures = ['fixture.json']

def test_demo2(self):
u = User.objects.get(username='testuser1')
#Some testing

I have these two test cases and my fixture has 2 rows in total, one for the
User table with pk=1, and the other for profile table (one-to-one relation
with User table)

If I run the test cases independently, both of the work perfect;y. But if I
run them both at the same time, I get this error

Could not load app1.Profile(pk=1): duplicate key value violates unique
> constraint "app1_profile_user_id_key"

>From my understanding of the documentation, Django will rollback all
fixtures after the TestCase is done so that the DB is back to the point
where only migrations are done and no fixture data is present.

 Few StackOverflow answers suggested that we need to make an explicit call
to teardown after the test case is done. So I added this code

@classmethod
def tearDownClass(cls):
super(TestCase, cls).tearDownClass()

This helps in running both the test cases together. But this leads to a new
issue of DB not being flushed between test cases. Filed a bug report in
detail on Bug tracker .

Is there something I'm missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you look at django rest framework docs, the topics are fixed on the left
side as you scroll through.

For example take this page :

Re: Javascript in external file not working

2012-11-27 Thread lokesh

Hi,

Please check the DEBUG is True or False in settings. If the DEBUG is True
it will not serve the static files in development server, So you need to
serve the static files from some other server or you need to change the
DEBUG level as False if you are in development mode.

Thanks,

Re: How to come to #anchor After Form Submit with message rendering..

hi,

  You should use .ajax() to submit your form.That way your page does
not load and you need not worry about where the page is pointing.

To do this use serializers or you need to make it a plain text iterate
over objects and make it a string and return httpresponse as a text.

Re: How to use django-tables with Paginator

2011-08-08 Thread lokesh
hi,
just use the following.
In views.py import paginator,

from django.core.paginator import Paginator, InvalidPage, EmptyPage
then in your function

bobj = Batch_Criteria_Batch_Instance.objects.all()  # get the objects
or query ur table.
SHOW_CONTENT_LIMIT = 5  # set your per
page content limit
paginate_list = Paginator(bobj, SHOW_CONTENT_LIMIT)  # pass your
list of objects to paginator
page_no = int(request.GET.get('page', 1))   #get
the page request
try:
contents = paginate_list.page(page_no)   #Gets the contents
according to pages.
except (EmptyPage, InvalidPage):
contents = paginate_list.page(paginate_list.num_pages)
total_pages_list = range(1,  paginate_list.num_pages + 1)   # total
pages list depending on ur contents in query table.

# then pass the contents and page list to template
return render_to_response('ui/report1.html',
{'bobj':bobj,'contents':contents,'total_pages_list':total_pages_list})

In your template, use to display objects of ur table.

{% for obj in contents.object_list %}
{% endfor %}

To diplay the number of pages u can use,

{% if contents.has_previous %}
   Previous
 {% endif %}
 {% for page_number in total_pages_list %}
{% ifequal page_number contents.number %}
{{contents.number}}
{% else %}
{{page_number}}
{% endifequal %}
 {% endfor %}

  {% if contents.has_next %}
Next
  {% endif %}

Re: Django can't see my static files

Try this way which works well.
create folder static_media in project.
In urls.py give below  url
(r'^static_media/(?P.*)','django.views.static.serve',
{'document_root':'static_media'}),
in settings give,
MEDIA_URL = '/static_media/'
it should work.

You can use below in setttings.py, create a folder called static
inside project and u can use it for static files.

STATIC_URL = '/static/'

STATICFILES_DIRS = (
# Put strings here, like "/home/html/static" or "C:/www/django/
static".
# Always use forward slashes, even on Windows.
# Don't forget to use absolute paths, not relative paths.
'C:/uidemo/static/',
)

# List of finder classes that know how to find static files in
# various locations.
STATICFILES_FINDERS = (
'django.contrib.staticfiles.finders.FileSystemFinder',
'django.contrib.staticfiles.finders.AppDirectoriesFinder',

)

Re: Unknown command: 'startproject'

2011-08-01 Thread lokesh
hi,
   check django-admin.py help you can see list of commands
available.
DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE might be set u can check whether it is set or
not in commandline using echo $DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE.

You can try using python django-admin.py startproject proj_name. or
python C:\Python26\Scripts\django-admin.py startproject projectname

Re: Is there a way to insert data from a csv file into my database?

2011-07-21 Thread lokesh
hi,
you can use python script to upload from csv file to database.
if u r using mysql u can http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysql-python/
download and install this package and use csv reader to read from file
and write it on to tables. Guide(http://www.kitebird.com/articles/
pydbapi.html).
if u r using sqlite3 u can find in (http://docs.python.org/release/

customize the radio button diplay order in templates

2009-08-30 Thread Lokesh

Hi,

Need help in understanding the template rendering for radio/check
buttons

1. Is it possible to display the radio/check buttons in horizontal or
customized(as per user interest) order.
2. How do I get the control on the radio button attribute/variable in
templates. (Instead of just printing the {{ FAMILY.family_value }} I
would like to loop the attribute/variable)
3. Is it possible to get rid of tags while getting the
values of a variable or attribute of a form.

Code is given below

forms.py:
class FamilyForm(forms.Form):
   family_value = forms.IntegerField(widget=forms.RadioSelect
(choices=family_value_filler(family_value_list)))

views.py:
def family_view(request, template_name="family.html"):
   family_form = FamilyForm()
   return render_to_response(template_name, {'FAMILY': family_form})

family.html:

family_value:
{{ FAMILY.family_value }}

output: Radio buttons displayed in vertical order.

 Doesnt
Matter
 Liberal
 Moderate
 Traditional

It seems that we have to mention both the calls (commit & rollback) for
every @transaction.commit_manually decorator. One single function call won't
be sufficient to perform the operation.

problem with the delete()

2009-08-12 Thread Lokesh

Hi,

Need help in understanding the relation between models and delete
operations.
Here is my model

class UserBasicDetails(models.Model):
user_id = models.OneToOneField(User, primary_key=True,
to_field='username', parent_link=True)
place = models.CharField(null=False, blank=False, max_length=30)

Step1:
user = User.objects.get(username='lokesh')
bas = UserBasicDetails.objects.create(user_id = user, month='feb')
Step2:
After successful creation of the record i am trying to delete all the
records from UserBasicDetails
UserBasicDetails.objects.all().delete()
Step3:
Ended up with the error and pasted below
ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'lokesh'

My Analysis:
I have tried with the 2 scenarios
1. Primary key - Integer, Delete successful
2. Primary key - Non-Integer - Delete fails

So, I felt the primary key field should be an integer.

Please correct me if i am in wrong direction.

Regards,
Lokesh

generate sql query from ORM

2009-08-08 Thread Lokesh

Hi,

Need help in generating the sql query i.e generated by django at
runtime from ORM

from django.contrib.auth.models import User
class UserBasicDetails(models.Model):
user_id = models.OneToOneField(User, primary_key=True,
to_field='username')
name = models.CharField(null=False, blank=False, max_length=30)

qs = UserBasicDetails.objects.get
(user_id__email__exact='exam...@djano.com')

I got the below search result qs.query.as_sql()
but, this will generate sql for only for result sets (filter) and not
for a single record/value (get) (UserBasicDetails.objects.filter
(user_id__email__exact='exam...@djano.com'))

Thanks for your time

how to alter (add/del cols) the tables from the existing models

2009-07-17 Thread Lokesh

Hi,

Initially the table created with the following code
Class user_privileges(models.Model):
user_id = models.ForeignKey(User)
is_deleted= models.CharField(null=False, blank=False,
max_length=1)
is_email_active = models.CharField(null=False, blank=False,
max_length=1)

Now I would like to add the one more column to the "user_privileges"
model
is_phone_active = models.CharField(null=False, blank=False,
max_length=1)

The changes are not taken place when I do the "manage.py syncdb" after
adding the new column into the model.

Please guide me how do I modify the models after the initial creation.

I am not supposed to drop the "user_privileges" table because this is
linked to other tables as foreign key.

Thanks in advance.

How to limit the maximum selection from MultipleChoiceField from forms?

2009-07-12 Thread Lokesh

Hi,

forms.py
education = forms.MultipleChoiceField(choices=education_filler
(education_list))

In one of my forms I have the field to select multiple options for
education. I am able to populate all the choices and also multi
selection. But from the above code I would like to restrict the user
to select upto 3 choices and not more than that.

Could some one guide me on how to restrict the user to select the max
limit of choices or set the maximum limit while defining the field.

Thanks in advance.

Re: how can I reset the form object variable (errors)?

2009-05-20 Thread Lokesh

Hi Karen,

In one of my HTML page I have included 2 forms, where both the forms
have required=True fields and have submit buttons respectively.
The problem is when a user submits one form (by clicking one of submit
button form the page) and if at all it has some errors (as validated
in clean method of forms)
I want to populate errors only from the submitted form.

I am rendering the page in the following way in my views.py

def login(request, redirect_field_name=REDIRECT_FIELD_NAME):
   if request.method == "POST":
form1 = loginForm(request.POST)
form2 = SearchForm(request.POST)
form1_hidden = request.POST.get('hiddenForm1')
form2_hidden = request.POST.get('hiddenForm2')

if form1.is_valid() and form1_hidden == 'True':
return render_to_response("homepage.html")
if form2.is_valid() and form2_hidden == 'True':
return render_to_response("searchresults.html")
else:
form1 = loginForm()
form2 = SearchForm()
return render_to_response("login.html", {
"form1": form1,
"form2": form2,
})

Now in a case where form1 has errors, I want to render the both the
forms with the errors of form1 only.

Request you to let me know a solution for the above problem.

Thanks for your patience.

Lokesh

how can I reset the form object variable (errors)?

2009-05-20 Thread Lokesh

Hi,

Is it possible to clear the variable 'errors' of a form object? If so,
could some one please help me in clearing the errors variable.

I have tried by below scenarios but, of no use.
form1.errors = {}
form1.errors = ''

Here is the code and output details:

class SearchForm(forms.Form):
looking_for = forms.CharField(label="looking_for", required=True,
max_length=30)
ageFrom = forms.IntegerField(label="ageFrom", required=False,
max_length=30)

My form1 object holds SearchForm class.

def searchView(request, redirect_field_name=REDIRECT_FIELD_NAME):
redirect_to = request.REQUEST.get(redirect_field_name, '')
if request.method == "POST":
   form1 = SearchForm(request.POST)
   print 'form1 error -', form1.errors

   for field in form1.errors:
  print 'field is ', field
   form1.errors = {} --> here I would like to clear the error
messages set by django

else:
   form1 = SearchForm(request.POST)

return render_to_response("search.html", {"form1":form1})

output for the above loop:
form2 error -  looking_forThis field is required.
field is - looking_for
