[Dx4win] CTY File
Hi I inadvertently opened the CTY file with notepad on one of my computers. I can not reset it so that DX4WIN will recognize the file. Tried reinstalling the software, that does not work. Keeps changing the file to be read by notepad. Running XP pro on the computer. Any ideas? Suggestions? Re: [Dx4win] creating adif file in 7.05.04
If the upload date is set it indicates that the ADIF file has already been uploaded. If you need to regenerate the ADIF file you must clear the upload date for the QSO's you want to upload. That's the way it works... In order to generate the lotw file the date must be clear AND the upload flag must be set. ver 8 makes the process a little simpler (though not as simple as many programs) but it still checks the date. I assume it was to prevent uploading the same data twice... but it works a little too well. BTW, you're not alone. A lot of people have been confused by this feature! Dean Norris wrote: Hi Mel, If I clear the date, it will then be the same as the rest of the QSOs in the log. The rest have been uploaded. I am confused. Re: [Dx4win] Apparent calendar issues
On Mon, Nov 23, 2009 at 6:08 PM, Karl Oyster k...@cox.net wrote: I've noticed quite a few times that when the Zulu day changes (7:00pm EST now) that the spots which come in after that time wind up at the back or top of the list of spots. For example, a spot timed/dated 23Nov09 @ 2355 is at the bottom of the window with incoming spots. A few minutes later, say 10 minutes, another spot comes in dated/timed 24Nov09 @ 0005, and rather than being at the bottom of spots window (where common sense would indicate as the correct place, it is at the top and consequently is not visible in the normally sized window. Even if the window is maximized, it will still be out of sight. I have my computer set for Eastern Standard Time (rather than zulu time) and I wonder if this is the issue. If so, it's something which should be modified in DX4W as most of the other ham-related software I use works by adding/subtracting hours to/from the local time in the computer and then displays the Zulu time. Is this just me (and my computer) or does this happen routinely with other folks? And, if so, what do you do about it??? What version of DX4WIN are you running? How are your spots sorted, by time or by arrival? I have my computer set to local time (not UTC) and have NOT seen this problem, either in 1-land or 0-land. I sort spots by time. There are cases where a SH/DX command that does NOT contain the date of the spots, done well after the date change, can cause the spots to be sorted incorrectly. For example, if it's 12z, and a SH/DX command shows spots from late in the previous day, but the spots don't contain a date field, DX4WIN will assume they are for the current day, and will sort by only the TIME field accordingly. Now this doesn't make a lot of sense (to allow spots from the future), but the clock on some cluster nodes is off by a few minutes +/-, so this can happen. But that's an extreme case, and doesn't sound like it's the case with your spots. If you use the VE7CC front-end, you can configure the spots sent to your logging program to always be in the SH/DX format (including the date), such the problem you describe can not occur. But as I said, I don't do this, and my spots are sorted as expected. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

So I did my bi-monthly or there a bouts of a down-load report from LOTW and then import it into my DX4WIN log to receive my confirmed LOTW QSL's. Re: [Dx4win] lotwreport_notfound file
Read the help file! If a QSO is already confirmed, it will be listed in this file. By default, when you download a report file from LoTW, it will only download QSOs since the last download. It sounds like you may have changed the download date to something older, resulting in more overlap/duplicate confirmations. Or you imported the wrong (i.e. older) lotwreport.adi file into DX4WIN. 73 - Jim AD1C On Tue, Nov 24, 2009 at 5:43 PM, george goofy...@rochester.rr.com wrote: So I did my bi-monthly or there a bouts of a down-load report from LOTW and then import it into my DX4WIN log to receive my confirmed LOTW QSL's.
