Then when you go to print labels, DX4WIN should ask if you want to use the current filter -- answer yes. At least theoretically this should work, as it similar to the way DX4WIN works in other areas, i.e. using an F8 filter. -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] QSL labels
I have some notes for printing with DX4win here http://users.otenet.gr/~sv1dpi/en/dx4win/printqsos.html If you have not enough space in your label for more than 1 qso, dx4win will not print more than one. So try different labels just to see if it works. If yes the problem is with your label. If not then the problem is with the qsl method, groups, tnx or pse, or your settings. I don't think there is anything more. 73 Kostas SV1DPI __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels
First make sure every QSL you want to print has the Print flag set to Y. Then make sure you select every QSO that contains any QSL you want to print. That sounds awkward, but just quickly do an F8 search with blank criteria which will effectively select the entire log file. Then select QSL Print. If you still don't print multiple QSOs on your labels, check that your Group selections are the same and that your QSL methods are the same. Like Art says, be sure that you aren't printing both Tnx and Pse labels or that some QSOs list a Manager and some don't. Usually when I see I'm only printing one of many labels it is because I only have one QSO selected. When I select the entire log as above my problems are usually solved. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels
Thanks Art for the info. I have been checking the help files, my print setup etc. and found nothing. Thenby dumb luck ;-) I found that I need to open the QSO listing window first and then be sure all the "label" window is set to "Y". Which I did before but did not have all the QSO listing window open. Now when I open the "Print QSL labels" window, it lists the correct number of QSO's selected to be printed. Why I did not catch this before puzzles me because I have printed many, many labels using DX4WIN? Anyway, I still love the program. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Hello all... I manage several callsigns used by the Grupo DX Teide and here is my and solution: I make an .ini file for each new callsign I manage: I setup Preferences for the callsign, including label wording, save it and "write ini file" to a file (e.g. callsign.ini). Next time I want to print labels for that callsign, I "merge" the "callsign.ini" into Preferences. It is easier than rewriting everything, but I have to remember to "merge" each time I change callsign. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Not sure if this is the answer you are looking for but you can use the GROUPS selection. For example I entered the 2011 CQWW CQ Contest. When I imported my contest log into DX4WIN I assigned it its own GROUP number and used EDIT GROUP NAME to name the group, in this example: 2011 CQWW CW. Then when I print labels 2011 CQWW CW will print on the label. I assign a new GROUP number and GROUP name for each contest log I import or other different than regular QSO's (example Museum ships weekend or Armed Forces Day QSO's) In your case you could assign a different GROUP number and name for each call you have in the log and make the GROUP name something like QSO WITH N7CW on IOTA NA-999 which would be printed on the label. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Hi all, and Kostas Fair enough, this is an option. Thank you for the suggestion. Still, the only "customizable" info is PSE or TNX QSL and a phrase that will be on every label, but will be the same on every callsign. But I see no solution if I want something else. _/For example/_, no comment at all on PJ7X label, and "PSE QSL via REF" on TO5FJ label. In other words, a fully customizable label text for each callsign. Instead of customizing the label one time for the whole program, how about a customizable label text per callsign ? 73 Paul F6EXV Le 05/01/2012 22:17, Kostas Stamatis a écrit : > Hello Paul > Group name is log specific. > So you have printing preferences something like > @@...73 de %% > > so dx4win will print pse or tnx ... 73 de groupname in every case > > So let's suppose you have your personal log. > All qsos should be at group 1 named F6EXV. > This will print Pse/Tnx... 73 de F6EXV > > The log with the multiple logs > in group1 we have TO5FJ, in group2 PJ7X etc. > the same command will print, depending on the group... > Pse/Tnc... 73 de TO5FJ or PJ7X etc. > I think this is the better way to handle this. > > Kostas sv1dpi > > - Original Message - From: "Paul F6EXV" > To: > Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 10:44 PM > Subject: Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls > > >> Hi all >> My situation is slightly different. >> I have my main log F6EXV as a stand-alone log, so that statistics and so >> on are appropriate. >> I manage several operations like TO5FJ, PJ7X to just name 2, so I do not >> want to mix these calls with any other. >> When I have to print a label for TO5FJ, I have to go to >> Files/Preferences/Rep-Label and change the2 lines of comments. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Hello Paul Group name is log specific. So you have printing preferences something like @@...73 de %% so dx4win will print pse or tnx ... 73 de groupname in every case So let's suppose you have your personal log. All qsos should be at group 1 named F6EXV. This will print Pse/Tnx... 73 de F6EXV The log with the multiple logs in group1 we have TO5FJ, in group2 PJ7X etc. the same command will print, depending on the group... Pse/Tnc... 73 de TO5FJ or PJ7X etc. I think this is the better way to handle this. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Yes, but I am already using the group numbers to divide up my log in other ways - by contest, for example. Another option would be to start the group numbers over with each Selection, so they could have different names. The other problem I have is that award tracking is based on Selections, with a subset of Groups. This is very nice for tracking awards if you have changed locations - for example, I moved from California to Arizona a few years ago. My DXCC totals move with me, but my VUCC totals do not. So by making a Selection for Arizona (and the default is All QSOs - which combines both California and Arizona), I can easily separate those awards. But if I make my other logs as different Selections (or Groups), they will affect my award totals. I still think I need the Greeting to be changeable with the log 73, Bud N7CW On Thu, Jan 5, 2012 at 12:47 PM, Kostas Stamatis wrote: > Even you have not all your calls under same database you can name every > group in your log with the name you want to print into your qsl labels... > and print it... > for example group 1 like KM08HR SV1DPI/8 > so when i print (my way) i will have this printed. > Don't forget also that there are commands (qso>multiple operations>chnage > group number) to change the group number to something different than zero > (0) or to make default insertion group number something different than zero > (file>preferences>qso) > > Kostas > > - Original Message - > From: "Bud Semon N7CW" > To: > Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 9:41 PM > Subject: Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls > > > > Kostas, > > > > This is a good idea. Erkki I would like a separate text for every qso. I have qsos where i would like to add a text when will be printed and i will forget to do it. But in your case i would have this: in group 1 oh2bf qsos group 2 oh2bf/1 qsos name of group 1 OH2BF-KO19pv-Lappohja and name of group2 OH2BF/1 KP11AA This is good alternative to print what you want in your qsl label HNY Kostas - Original Message - From: "Erkki Heikkinen" To: "'Kostas Stamatis'" ; "'REFLECTOR dx4win'" Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 10:01 PM Subject: RE: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls > Kostas, > > I have OH2BF and OH2BF/1 in different groups. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Kostas, I have OH2BF and OH2BF/1 in different groups. The callsign used prints fine, but I want to print the QTH also on the label (I use the same cards for both calls). As it is now, I need to mark a different QSL method for the /1 QSOs and then remember to edit the text for the labels before I print those. It works OK this way, but several times I have forgotten to change the label text and printed erraneous labels. Well, not a big deal, but would appreciate choise of different label texts for each group. Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls
Even you have not all your calls under same database you can name every group in your log with the name you want to print into your qsl labels... and print it... for example group 1 like KM08HR SV1DPI/8 so when i print (my way) i will have this printed. Don't forget also that there are commands (qso>multiple operations>chnage group number) to change the group number to something different than zero (0) or to make default insertion group number something different than zero (file>preferences>qso) Kostas - Original Message - From: "Bud Semon N7CW" To: Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 9:41 PM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] QSL Labels for Multiple Calls > Kostas, > > This is a good idea. Kostas, This is a good idea. I use it to specify the grid squares in my 6 M logs (QSOs from grid squares different than my home square). Now that I managing QSLs for multiple calls, I find myself printing labels with the wrong greeting more and more often. I wonder if it would be possible to specify greetings by log? [Dx4win] QSL Labels Gone Wild
This has happened to me before and I do not know the fix. By some unintended keystrokes, the formatting of my QSL labels has been destroyed. The labels print out in large font and the Label Editor no longer controls the characteristics of the labels. Short of reinstalling the entire program, is there a quick fix? Lee, KY7M
[Dx4win] QSL Labels
When i receive a direct request and i want to print the answer i am doing this... I change the qsl method to $ i mark the Label to Yes Go to print: Labels>Print qsl labels in the print qsl labels window i choose qsl method instead of all to $. Don't forget to uncheck the print method labels and go to print. If you use a paper with a lot of labels, after the 1st card maybe you need another one tip. Notice that in Print qsl labels window, there is a small window says missing labels. So if you have unstick the 1st labels you will put 1 instead of 0, if you have used 2 labels in past, you 'll put 2 and the printing will start in nr 3 label, etc good luck Kostas sv1dpi PS By the way i also prefer to use my old cards to reply. These have boxes. But my new cards have not boxes because i print the cards, so the above method is needed - Original Message - From: "Scott Millick" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2007 9:34 PM Subject: [Dx4win] QSL Labels > If you want to print only one label (you got a card and want to send one > back) instead of the ones that you already have marked for printing how do > you do it or can it be done as I do not see this in the manual > > Scotty K9SM > ___ > Dx4win mailing list > Dx4win@mailman.qth.net > http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win > >

What I've generally done is that for a single card, I find it easier to just write it out by hand and update the QSO record manually. (Here's a tip: In the QSL date field, if you press the up-arrow key, it will insert the current date). I then adjust the fields for confirmed and for marking that a label needs to be printed. It's a pretty low-tech solution, but it does work. Hellooo... I think I know the answer to this one. Finally I can help some one back. Avery 8160 is same as 5160. So choose 5160 as your label size, and try printing. See it that works for you. Should be EZ fix. Also look at the Inkjet label box in small print it references (same as Avery 5160). Happy Printing! [Dx4win] QSL Labels and Avery 8160 Labels
After getting all my recent PJ2/K8ND 160m QSOs imported to DX4WIN, I'm printing QSL info labels for the first time. I am using DX4WIN with a HP Deskjet 990Cse printer and Avery 8160 labels. I'm having a problem that doesn't seem specifically related to DX4WIN, but to something else in setting up for these labels. Perhaps someone can share similar experiences and solutions? >From Word (Office 2000) or DX4WIN, the labels do not align with the labels on the sheet. The first is off (too far down by 1/4-inch or so), but they *all* seem spaced incorrectly relative to each other, as if the 8160 template were wrong in both Word 2000 *and* DX4WIN (I know - unlikely). Even if the first label were aligned correctly, each subsequent rows would "walk" down, with each label starting lower in the label space. There could be some misconfiguration of the printer, but I would think that this should be handled by the printer driver based on the template rather than requiring any kind of manual setup? [Dx4win] QSL Labels and Avery 8160 Labels
Jeff, I also use Avery 8160 and found that I had to modify the settings. Under the custom label setting I set the "spacing left" to 0.2, "spacing top" to 0.65, "horizontal shift" to 0.1 and the "vertical shift" to 0.1. I am using Arial font. Without the shifting I was getting the printing cut off on the left side and top of the labels in the third row. I am also new to using the program and there may be other ways to adjust the printing but this seems to work for me. I only use two QSO's per label and I would think you could probably adjust the offsets to get three QSO's per label. Hope this helps. 73, Roger, W7VV / ZK1VVV -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Jeff Maass Sent: Saturday, January 04, 2003 5:27 PM To: DX4WIN Mailing List Subject: [Dx4win] QSL Labels and Avery 8160 Labels After getting all my recent PJ2/K8ND 160m QSOs imported to DX4WIN, I'm printing QSL info labels for the first time. Any ideas? [Dx4win] qsl labels
Has anyone used the BV program with Dx4WIN to print out qsl labels? I would be most interested in your results and methods. I am getting ready to print out about 5K labels and while the DX4WIN program works fine; I would like to get a little more creative. I downloaded the BV program and could not figure out how to tell it to look for checked qso's in DX4WIN to print out.
