Re: [Elecraft] K3 - MixW interfacing
First depends on the version of FLFIGI. I use v4.0.5 With that I choose K3/KX3 Beta as the radio from the HamLib. 38400 baud, 1 stop. I do not have DTR or DTS checked. With my configuration I end up with COM 5. All works great with these values. 73 Bob, K4TAX On 8/13/2019 8:14 PM, Ray Albers wrote: Thanks, Jim Yes - and after posting my request, I fiddled around a bit more I actually stumbled into getting it work with the plain old serial interface. Re: [Elecraft] K3 - MixW interfacing
Do you have any software on the laptop that communicates with the K3? Download and install the K3 Utility from the Elecraft website to test the connection. You'll want it anyway for firmware updates and calibrations. Re: [Elecraft] KX3 ATU not working
Aaron, Your tests leave a couple questions - I could assume, but I would rather not - unsaid things often reveal problems. Are you powering the KX3 from an external supply having at least a 13.8 volt output? After you connected the dummy load, did you do an ATU TUNE? Is there any chance you could have had a static surge on the antenna coax that could have zapped the wattmeter diodes? Email supp...@elecraft.com to see if they can give you some points to measure. 73, Don W3FPR On 8/13/2019 6:42 PM, Aaron wrote: For some reason, I could not reply to the mail list. Re: [Elecraft] KX3 ATU not working
The only time I have seen this SWR on my KX3 is when the internal batteries (eneloop) were partially discharged and the voltage was 8.5 vdc (tuning caused the voltage to drop to 8.2 vdc). I noticed this when testing beta firmware for Elecraft to assess ATU behavior using different voltages Have you tried connecting your KX3 to an external power supply that delivers 13.4 vdc and at least 2a? If this does not address the issue contact Elecraft support. 73 Howard WX7HS > On Aug 13, 2019, at 15:44, Aaron wrote: > > For some reason, I could not reply to the mail list. > > The ATU on my KX3 is not tuning. [Elecraft] Fixing a Winlink express, no audio input from K3S problem
I have Winlink Express running quite happily on a laptop, talking to a K3S thru the K3S’s USB cable. I configured Winlink Express on an older desktop, and it did not play with the same K3S - although the Winlink Express can (e.g., using VARA) transmit a signal; it “hears” nothing. The USB Codec Microphone, which is how the K3S’s audio shows up on the PC, has sound - I can “listen” to it using the Windows ability to listen to a sound input device. But, none of the Winlink Express modems running on the desktop can hear any audio. Oddly, FLDIGI works just fine on the laptop and the desktop. Finally, after some more poking around, I got it to work. The magic was to change the “Allow apps to access your microphone” setting in the Sound settings page to On. This setting appears in the “Microphone privacy settings” and I completely ignored it for more than a couple days! Go to Settings/Sound. Click on “Microphone privacy settings”. Make sure “Allow apps to access your microphone” is “On”. Also, make sure the “Allow desktop apps to access the microphone” setting further down this page is “On”. This is what was preventing my Winlink Express app from working. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
