[Elecraft] K3 144 repeater settings?
Any and all with the 2 meter module; After a longish wait, my K3 came back to my QTH, all the circuits had been checked out, upgraded, revamped, firmware fine. I put it on the desk, attached my antennas, then went to the 144 MHz band - all but expecting to have it work like a dedicated 2 meter repeater rig. No joy, still the same confusion in my situation. (No audio from the speaker, can't enable the squelch to cut out the noise with RF turned very far up!) That made me decide to ask for anyone with success in getting this one area of the K3 going OK to send me a list of their settings to check mine against. As is, there are a few too many items to look at, mostly in different manuals, I'm incredibly short on time, right in the danger zone for the hurricane season. I'll appreciate a younger soul with an agile brain giving me a lot of advice on this, as I attempt to unscramble the downloads, printouts, directions on what to do and how to do it for 2 meters. Thanks, 73's, from too old to think fast! Re: [Elecraft] K3 144 repeater settings?
Gil, Be sure your 2 mtr antenna is hooked to the correct bnc. Push the RX Ant button so you see PRE. I used the K3 memory manager to input the freqs and offsets. The 2 meter set up doesn't have all the conveniences of a 2 mtr radio but the receiver is excellent. The rest of the settings. The same. 2 meters must be on the primary receiver. I have the second receiver option, but have it shut off on 2 meters. I have had some suggestions to monitor 2 meters and another band at the same time, but won't go down that path. I Have a k2 to monitor lower bands when using the k3 on 2. [Elecraft] K3 144 MHz module - how to make it work?
An appeal to anyone - I have my 2 meter module installed in my K3, but the instruction manual leaves out the steps on how to set the works up for repeaters and offsets, tone accesses. Does anyone have any idea of where to find a logical sequence of steps to do the job, or is this a case of using some digital magic wand? Thanks for any input. 73's Gil WA5YKK __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

I believe you will find what you need in the K3 ops manual, not the K144XV manual. I'm sure glad you asked that question, Gil. I just got my 2m module in today, and would have had to do the same!! Re: [Elecraft] K3/144
It is a problem as responded by others. I asked Larry Phipps about it and he said that the program is Flex radio's that is being used. They might not be receptive to a K3 owner. Flex is now supplying 2 meters so maybe it will be fixed.
