Korean Spectrum Allocations or Band Plan

2003-01-16 Thread Price, Ed

Hello Groupies!

Is there a location where I may be able to download an English language
version of Korea's RF spectrum allocation scheme (sometimes called a
band-plan)? This would likely be similar to the USA FCC RR, Part 2. I
believe that I may have found the information I need at:

http://www.mic.go.kr/eng/jsp/res/res_100_01.jsp

which is the Radio Waves Act. Unfortunately, I can only find Hangul versions
of this information.

Thanks,

Ed

If the camera is in a can, mesh or otherwise, and the can is bonded to the
skin of the chamber, then is doesn't matter whether the control and power
are copper or fiber. In effect, the cables are outside of the chamber.
Special filters and connectors are not needed.

Our dome is mounted in the corner of the chamber, behind the antenna. We

Further to my earlier response, the Israeli standard equivalent to IEC 60065

RE: I2C bus sensitivity to EFT

2003-01-16 Thread boconn...@t-yuden.com
Sir

Board level buses, (IIC, etc) are not intended for external use. Note that
the electrical part of these standards do not really address EMC issues.
These busses are intended as internal constructions (no permanent external
port), logic-level, and are mostly just software protocols.

I personnaly prefer RS422 or 488 if I need to stream data external to my
box.

For data port surge suppression issues, look at application notes on the
Maxim, TI, or LT websites for serial I/O ICs.

good luck

Hi Forum,
Has anyone on this forum worked with I2C products and maybe be able to
advise on the best method to suppress EFT noise that would alow the I2C bus,
via external cables, to operate as expected e.g. Good EFT devices? How best
to shield the I2C? Other?
As always I look forward to your proffesional advice.
History
I have a system that connects 3 products (powered from an in-line external
non-earthed power supply, SELV) using the I2C bus via a 1m shielded and 1m
shielded curly cable. I use an I2C bi-directional extender IC P82B715 on one
of the products. The I2C protocol gets corrupted when I appply the
Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) Test per the EMC Standard EN61000-4-4.
I have tried shielded cables, several EFT devices and 1nF caps on the lines
but with little affect.

Last I heard (and those from Israel or with better information, feel free to
correct), is that almost any type approval report/s will be accepted:

1. a CB safety report will be nice, participates in the CB scheme and has a
safety standard that is derived from the 950 (no idea which vintage)
2. CISPR 22 / FCC Part 15 type report is also acceptable in-lieu of
emission
testing

Hi group!

I would like to ask if some of our list members, who are familiar with
German industrial marking practices, to help settle a discussion.

I am trying to determine the significance of markings on an auto radiator ID
plate. The plate caries the markings:

Hans Windorf A.-G.
4 Berlin - Schoenberg63
Werk Nr.16602 Lfd. Nr.413

I somewhat assume that the 4 and the 63 refer to the fourth month of
1963 as a date of manufacture. But what is the English equivalent of Werk
Nr. Lfd. Nr.? Might these refer to a contract number, a plant ID, or a
design drawing number?

Thanks!

'Video Cameras for EMC Test Monitoring' on Wed, 15 Jan 2003:
I wish there was some remote way to suppress the IR illuminators.

Can't you just put duct tape over them, if you are not expecting to use
them?

Already tried that, John. The problem is that the Ramsey camera is about
1.5 diameter, and has a glass window over the end of the aluminum tube.
There are 12 IR LED's distributed around the camera lens. I tried several
masks, which effectively block the IR from projecting into the room.
Unfortunately, the masks also reflect some IR back into the camera, causing
the camera's AGC (or whatever) to darken the scene. Thus far, masks hurt
more than help. Further play is indicated!

We have asked the mftr for evidence, but I would like the professional

RE: Video Cameras for EMC Test Monitoring

2003-01-16 Thread richwo...@tycoint.com

Hans, off-the-shelf optical fiber converters are available for that purpose.
They are very small and look like an in-line filter.

While on the topic of cameras, does anyone make a fiberoptic version of a
surveilance camera?

RE: Video Cameras for EMC Test Monitoring

2003-01-16 Thread jules
You need to be carefull if you are running copper wires out to the remote
display as these will pick up the fields. Hursley EMC Services have just
developed a low cost camera for 10V/m, and we have built a converter to run
the image, pan/tilt and zoom etc out on two fibre optic leads. we do plan to
produce this, but it is unlikely to be ready before mid 2003.

Just put an off-the-shelf unit from Best Buy or Circuit City in a metal
screen box, make sure the screen is very close to the lens, that way it is
totally out of focus and only causes a dimming of the picture, not visible
distortion.

Labelling requirements Part 68

2003-01-16 Thread Carpentier Kristiaan

Hello group,

TSB168 specifies the labelling requirements for terminal equipment approved
by a TCB or an SDoC for connection to a telephone network in accordance with
47 CFR 68.
Our OEM (US) mftr tells us this label info (US:AAAEQ##TXXX) can be omitted
in certain cases, e.g. when SDoC procedure is followed.
We have asked the mftr for evidence, but I would like the professional
opinion of this group also.
Regards,
Kris

Video Cameras for EMC Test Monitoring

'Video Cameras for EMC Test Monitoring' on Wed, 15 Jan 2003:
I wish there was some remote way to suppress the IR illuminators.

Can't you just put duct tape over them, if you are not expecting to use
them?

I2C bus sensitivity to EFT

2003-01-16 Thread Alex McNeil

Hi Forum,
Has anyone on this forum worked with I2C products and maybe be able to
advise on the best method to suppress EFT noise that would alow the I2C bus,
via external cables, to operate as expected e.g.

Kind Regards
