[FairfieldLife] Re: HAPPY WEEKEND WITH 10 BEST VIDEOS ON TM

2017-06-19 Thread upfron...@ymail.com [FairfieldLife]

No friend, I do not belittle Maharishi or his achievements in any manner,
rather do I hold reverent love for him and gratitude for his presence on Earth
in a body of flesh, even though I disagree with some of his claims. It is not
difficult to follow his chosen path and see in outline why he did what he did.
I am wholly aware that if someone has climbed upon a ledge to safety then
nobody ever has the right to make their way slippery so that they might fall
back into the precipice, because the hand of an angel is always firmly offering
an invisible rope upon which the climber has unknowingly been grasping to reach
that ledge, and if that be so, then beware the one who topples another.

However, I do not harbour, I hope, fatalist concepts in my make-up, as perhaps
some others may do, and the point that I was making was that I believe it more
important for the world to have a large number of people practising
Transcendental Meditation than anything else that is associated with it through
the drawing of aspects from the Vedic scriptures and attaching to them the
Maharishi signature.

The technique developed by Maharishi of Transcendental Meditation is pure
magic and it is unique because Maharishi developed it for the householder. As I
said, I believe the world would be a far better place if Maharishi had recycled
all resources without exception back into the promotion of the teaching of
Transcendental Meditation and he had focussed all of his genius and efforts on
the promotion of the teaching of Transcendental Meditation alone (and of course
scope for the TM-Sidhi program but not necessarily in the manner it is held
today).

I do not doubt that a being such as Maharishi could have in place upon this
world today perhaps 56 million or even 106 million meditators if he had set his
desire on this achievement alone, perhaps, for instance, through such actions
as charging less to gain more meditators, increasing the percentage a TM
teacher could claim, making the TM practice as completely separate from any
ties with religion as possible (the deference to the disciplic succession is
acceptable to many people as most people do have a sense of manners and
respect), and so on. The sheer numbers of ‘ordinary’ people meditating in the
community would in itself be certain to ‘normalise’ Transcendental Meditation
to many others, and word of mouth, so to speak, would bring Transcendental
Meditation to the level of a nice-to-have practice, if not essential, not only
in homes but in many more educational establishments and other institutions
than it is in today.

 Regards.

@ 41:50 by Geoff Gilpin, author of “The Maharishi Effect”

“When I came back in 2000, TM was almost an afterthought. I felt that the
Movement and Maharishi weren’t just really interested in teaching meditation
that much anymore. And instead they had this vast array of products and
services pretty much for every aspect of human life.”

My opinion is that this point expresses, in the evolution of the TM Movement,
where the reality of the definite and clear benefits of Transcendental
Meditation were overshadowed by 'the Empire', if I may use that term, of which,
apparently, Transcendental Meditation was but a part.

If all of the paraphernalia of the present Empire had been left to
third-parties for those who are interested in it, and if Maharishi had
separated himself and Transcendental Meditation from all of the add-ons, I
believe that today this world would be far more positively affected by the
effects of people practicing Transcendental Meditation than it presently is.

There are a number of reasons as to why I assume this, some of which are:

 * If all of the money generated from teaching Transcendental Meditation was
reserved solely and only in the promotion of the teaching of Transcendental
Meditation, then there would be a far larger take-up of Transcendental
Meditation by people because it would be far cheaper and therefore more readily
affordable and not at a cost which, no doubt, has deterred many from taking up
Transcendental Meditation.

 * Regardless of the theories, I believe that a meditator entering the
Transcendent in one country and another meditator entering the Transcendent in
different country is as beneficial the world, if not more so due to local
influence, than two meditators entering the Transcendent in the same
geographical locality. The Transcendent is the Transcendent and it transcends
physical space - the effect is there.

 * I believe that a number of people in the world today might be more likely to
take up Transcendental Meditation if it was not inseparably associated with
some breakout Eastern philosophies or theories which are expressed as the
pinnacle of knowledge, whereas they may only contain some partial or basic
truth available elsewhere but in a different format - and besides not agreeable
with the one considering taking up Transcendental Meditation.

That is good, Salyavin. On FFL we should call this Salyavin’s Theorem on

Out in Vedic City, Iowa like the great teaching of Shiva Rudra , they are
inviting transformation here, in to the TM movement and all. They invite the
breaking of ego and boundaries, and they have been feeding their own
dissolution too with the chanting of Rudrabhishekam. Breaking the Madness of
the movement you ask Shiva, set this up for large-scale transformation,
dissolution everywhere with large scale chanting of Rudrabhishekam. So it is,
it has happened. Maharishi did it. Shiva does it. -JaiGuruYou

[FairfieldLife] Re: Happy Shivaratri!

2016-03-09 Thread yifux...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Thx, as I recall, the numbers of initiations took a precipitous decline after
the 2nd appearance on the Merv Griffin show, (1975 I think). One can make a
case that TM initiations are still going strong in countries like
(---Stan); but here in the U.S. I see no evidence that what people called
the "Movement" is moving anywhere.
What was the reason for the drop-off in 1975? It's obvious! Disco music.
This had a jarring effect on people's nervous systems and they could no longer
even sit with their eyes closed, lest their brains explode. But people already
practicing TM were able to ward off the harmful Disco vibes.
...OTOH, it can be argued that the drop-off was not only taking place in the
TM Movement, but in other New-Age groups as well, but some later than 1975.
Muktananda's movement declined rapidly after he passed away. (I believe it was
1982), but it was well known that he had heart problems.
At any rate, the impulse of creative intelligence shifted elsewhere. Do you
know what happened in 1975? Wozniak wrote the first words on a computer
terminal that popped up on the screen, and Microsoft was born in the same year.
I believe that profound inner plane events are taking place now.. More on
that later.

Where has the TM movement gone? Meditators are gone looking to the vibration
of Mother Divine, the meditating community largely like here in town in the
array of healing practices in town they are gone to engage processes of Mother
Divine, it is all happening. Coming apart.

are doing also on themselves for a chance for Mother Divine to come.

Oh, I wouldn't trade my years  involved with Maharishi for anything. Love the
knowledge (pre-siddhi courses anyway) and the experiences. But I'm definitely
glad I moved on, grew up and applied the knowledge in a practical way. No need
to hang around the TMO. M's philosophy was rest and action, dip the cloth and
let it bleach in the sun. Hanging around Fairfield  and the movement would be
like sitting and not going anywhere.

Sounds like you had the advantage of the British historical richness to give
you a leg up on the accommodations - not like us freezing in the MIU pods all
winter and being surrounded by the other ugliest buildings known to man (the
gulag-like frat buildings). The original Parsons College structures (condemned
and unused) were old brick buildings and they were lovely but all we could do
was look at them from the outside. The food was great though and plenty of it
and the people were interesting and varied, lots of wonderful students. While
everyone was pretty one-pointed they were still not too robotic as well as
fun-loving - especially in my major which was the art department - craziest
bunch of blasphemers you could ever meet.

Good times though, and a good experience that not many get to have. As long as

I was pretty much one foot always on the ground. I was there to practice TM
and get a degree. Upon leaving I liked the sound of that other blasphemer Robin
Carlsen whose independent streak is what drew me in. He was a wild and crazy
guy and discovering British Columbia was also a draw. Another adventure I don't
regret. I learned tons and then jumped ship when it got too weird. Fun times.

My first glance at Lynch's website doesn't fill me with hope that the TMO have
started playing straight with the facts. He makes a claim for 51% reduction in
physical problems associated with HIV/AIDS and provides a link to references.
Follow the link and there are only two papers related to HIV/AIDS, one
unpublished one by MUM, and another that admits in its own abstract that the
sample size was too small to justify the claims and further research is needed
for validation. And in any case, was only related to vitality and not physical
problems.
I know people who have died of AIDS and I am pissed off that the TMO would
potentially try and get the hopes up of sick people with the usual dump of
impressive sounding claims that aren't backed up. So where is the data, did I
miss something? My best guess from reading that lot is that they are
extrapolating from their other unconnected "research", but look down the list
of references and it's all the same old stuff from the collected papers that no
one ever rated as quality research, sure some of the newer stuff might be
better but is it relevant?

Another of the claims for TM as an HIV/AIDS treatment great for anxiety and
depression, are there any papers on mental health TM and AIDS patients? No.
There's a few website testimonials but we all know they prove nothing. Besides,
I know so many long term TMers that get a bit of extra help for personal
problems that I've lost count, just as well they weren't included in the
research huh? And then there's the FF Mental Health Alliance, does Lynch know
about this blatant contradiction of the claims on his website?
I'm curious, can anyone else find a decent bit of research actually showing
that TM helps people with AIDS in the way they claim on Lynch's site?

My first glance at Lynch's website doesn't fill me with hope that the TMO have
started playing straight with the facts. He makes a claim for 51% reduction in
physical problems associated with HIV/AIDS and provides a link to references.
Follow the link and there are only two papers related to HIV/AIDS, one
unpublished one by MUM, and another that admits in its own abstract that the
sample size was too small to justify the claims and further research is needed
for validation. And in any case, was only related to vitality and not physical

I got my first and only advanced technique on TTC from Maharishi. Many
others did too. Something strange happened on the flight home as some
were asking people if they remembered the advanced technique they got.
Seems some didn't. I was confused for years between two versions. Each
gave a different experience. Remember this was years before the mantras
were posted online. And two mantra check letters to Maharishi got me
nowhere. This is part of why I soured on the movement. Just like
software, you get no support you go elsewhere.

It was the lifestyle that kept me there for so long, I got to live in a nice
Tudor manor house, all food was cooked by decent chefs and the work was fun but
easy. At least it was when I stopped working for the publicity department as I
stopped believing the bits I did believe while I was there, and that made it
hard work because my heart has to be into it for me to get enthusiastic, and
also to be convincing for those on the receiving end. You can't sell something
that you think is rubbish no matter what the sales training experts tell you!

Good times though, and a good experience that not many get to have. As long as
you keep one foot on the ground you can get away from cults if it gets too
weird...

Yes, I was being rhetorical. It's obvious he's a front man for the same old BS
from the TMO, blind 'em with science and hope they don't follow the links from
the impressive looking list of journal references.

Remember the references they cited when they wanted everyone to buy houses
that faced east? A list of 10 papers in the International Journal of
Neurophysiology no less, but follow the link and it turned out to be a bunch of
interesting, but irrelevant, stuff about how rats find their way about in the
dark. Nothing about inherent direction finding in mammals, and even if there
was it would be magnetic and therefore north/south based. Why would a mammal be
east sensitive? Anyway, they were obviously hoping no one would actually go and
look.

I always thought Lynch was there to project an image simply of the benefits of
meditation without all the silly woo-woo that is associated with TM like the
levitation that isn't, and yagyas and world peace creation. That stuff goes
down well with the True Believer but the average Joe will see through it in a
second, hence the need for a new approach with a bit of apparently independent
celebrity endorsement. The website looks great but it looks like he's borrowed
the same approach - and undoubtably written by the same people - from the TMO.

I see Rick is a Libran then.

From a Google search on Libran characteristics I came upon this extract.

Sex with a Libran:Sex is an enchanting, sensual experience, like a sex scene
out of a movie. Lots of gentle rubbing, stroking, caressing. Libras make very
imaginative and creative lovers. They are good at what they do and they are
willing to try something new. Always keep it classy however, Libras are not one
for bathroom stall sex. Set the mood with lots of teasing foreplay and create
ambiance with candles and scented massage oils.

Happy Easter Birthday for these chicks! Very appropriate timing.

I looked a couple of times but haven't seen her feeding the chicks yet. For
awhile there was what looked as though a whole egg had somehow rolled out from
under her and was sitting at a little distance all by itself. I just looked
now, and it's only a shell (half a shell, in fact). Is that what it was all
along, and I was seeing it from the wrong angle? Or did the fourth chick hatch
from it while I wasn't looking?

Any idea how old she is? Is this her first batch of chicks, or is she more
experienced?

Where's Pop with the next food delivery? What has she been feeding the chicks
with up till now?

Mike, a minute ago she scooted out of the nest carrying something fairly

Couldn't see what it was; could it have been the remains of the carcass she was

She was feeding them a pigeon, I presume, this morning. The rest of the times I
checked, she had settled in on them to keep them warm. I'm not sure how old she
is but I heard she was there last year. It's going to be fun to check in on
them as they grow. Once they can maintain their body temperature, she will
spend less and less time with them and we'll get better looks. Looks like she
may have an early AM and mid afternoon feeding schedule for them. I imagine

So there wasn't enough left of the pigeon to make another meal? Is it usual for

Will Pops come into the nestbox to deliver the next pigeon, or will he hand
(beak?) it over to her outside? I'd love to get a look at him.

Omigosh, he just arrived on the doorstep and dropped his catch right inside,
then flew away immediately. She got up and grabbed it and is now feeding the
chicks again. What a gas! Doesn't look nearly as big as a pigeon; a mouse,
maybe?

Didn't catch that feeding but it could be any small bird. Peregrines are picky

The scenario goes like this: people move out of your state because of
the high taxation, and move to a state with lower tax rates. Then, the
liberals demand more government services, and so they vote for higher
taxation. Go figure.

They move out of the state because cost of living is very high. That's
what you get in a state that has great weather. Everyone wants to live
here. Home and rent prices are climbing. I may even take advantage of
this bubble and sell this place for a handsome profit. There are a lot
of areas in California that aren't so expensive with decent housing prices.

[FairfieldLife] RE: Happy Happy 12 January

2014-01-22 Thread dhamiltony2k5
12 January 1972 Maharishi inaugurated the World Plan to “eliminate the age-old
problems of mankind in this generation.”

Right from the beginning of his movement, Maharishi predicted that even a
small number of the world's population practicing his Transcendental Meditation
technique could neutralize the stress being built up in the world
consciousness, thus averting conflicts and wars.

In 1974 these predictions were validated by scientific studies showing that in
cities where one percent of the population learned the transcendental
Meditation technique there was a sudden decrease in crime rates.

By 1974 more than one million people throughout the world had learned the
practice of Transcendental Meditation and were experiencing higher states of
consciousness. With this, world consciousness was already becoming increasingly
purified. Furthermore, people everywhere were experiencing the practical
benefits of the development of higher states of consciousness in all aspects of
their daily life, including greater happiness, peace, and harmony. A growing
body of scientific research was validating the beneficial effects this practice
had on all levels of mind, body, and behavior of the individual.

It was at this time that research scientists discovered that in cities where
one percent of the population was practicing Transcendental Meditation, the
cities' crime rates decreased. As more and more cities rose to one percent of
the population practicing Transcendental Meditation, scientific research found
that not only did crime decrease, but accidents, sickness, and other negative
trends also decreased, and positivity increased. Research scientists named this
phenomenon the Maharishi Effect in honor of Maharishi.

With this formula, Maharishi realized that it was now easily practical to
produce positive trends in all cities throughout the world. With this
inspiration, Maharishi envisioned a new age dawning for mankind. On 12 January
1975, he inaugurated the dawn of the Age of Enlightenment proclaiming, “Through
the window of science I see the dawn of the Age of Enlightenment.”

This is the time of the dawn of the Age of Enlightenment. I am only giving
expression to the phenomenon that is taking place.

One percent of the people in any country can herald the dawn of a new age for
the whole nation by devoting only fifteen minutes of their time twice a day.

It is in the hands of a few individuals in every country today to change the
direction of time and guide the destiny of their nation for all harmony,
happiness, and progress.

It is my joy to invite everyone to come in the light of the knowledge and
experience that the Science of Creative Intelligence provides and enjoy
participating in this global awakening to herald the Age of Enlightenment.

 -Maharishi
