We lost our sweet Sids kid Jager last night to intestinal lymphoma. I got to
tell him good bye and that I loved him. And rubbed his beautiful littlr
black ears with the white stripes.

He had the coolest ears and purrsonality. He was all black except each ear
had white stripes,my fiance' couldn't believe it was reall and that someone
bleached them.Well for the 4 1/2 years we had him,his ears ALWAYS stayed the
same :). He always has some kind of issue going on but always overcame it
and was a happy boy. We spoiled him with baby food everyday just because he
was Jager. I will miss this precious little guy. I love you sweet Jager.

[Felvtalk] First Petting of Hemy!

2011-08-15 Thread Bonnie Hogue
Today when I fed Hemy (she's in a cage on my back covered deck) she ate
while I was there. I spoke to her and reached a finger through the cage to
touch her head. No problem. Then, when I came back to clean her litter
box, I took a chance and placed my hand on the floor of the cage and
remained still. She moved closer, then nudged my hand. I stroked her cheek
and she moved her head around in obvious pleasure. I petted her a few
moments and she purred.

This is a feral cat who has, after tail amputation and being moved from
her familiar surroundings, been in a cage on my back deck for only Five
Days!

I'd say she is more afraid and cautious than feral, wouldn't you?

I'm keeping her in the cage for now, and will go slowly so she doesn't feel
pressured. But what a little sweetheart. It pains me to think of how
horribly humans have been to her, yet she is willing to forgive and perhaps
trust again. Bless her!

We thought SuzieQ was feral until she started letting us pet her and when

brought SuzieQ inside and she is quite happy to be living the good life in our
guest bedroom. She will soon be let out into the main part of the house to
meet the rest of our Nuisance. We have taken our goodwill ambassador kitties

The vets that treated her at Forgotten Felines said she has a cleft palate.
You can see, when she looks at you, that the little place under her nose
where the two cheeks come together, there is a little gap on her. But it
must not be serious enough of a problem, because she has a healthy appetite
and weighs in at 9 lb. 6 oz. A good sized cat!

I hate doing it to him - other cats have such soft skin that the needles

our guest bedroom. She will soon be let out into the main part of the house
to meet the rest of our Nuisance. We have taken our goodwill ambassador
kitties in to meet her already and they have all gotten along really well.
By following my Cat Intro 101 instructions (I can email for anyone that
wants a copy) you can introduce MANY kitties into your existing kitty/dog
household.

Thanks for saving Hemy.

Subject: [Felvtalk] First Petting of Hemy!

Bless her!

2011-08-15 Thread Beth
You are right. She is not feral, she just hasn't been loved. I have one inside
my house right now who is over 10 years old, never been touched by a human,
outside all his life, felt behind when his caretaker  was put in a nursing
home. I could not touch him for awhile. Now I can pick him up he just purrs!~
