Maybe if their bowtie is too tight it acts like a capo?? Then the transposed

a major second. yeah i have cues for the entry and at the end of the longer

Re: [Finale] Need help with HP LJ 5000 and MacOS Mojave

2019-05-05 Thread Fiskum, Steve
I’ve had this problem before with my 5000 especially if you do a clean install.
I fixed the issue using migration assistant. I can’t find the link I used for
the description on how to do this but basically I connected to my other machine
that still printed to the 5000 and just migrated the printer settings then
everything worked perfectly. I had all the same issues you describe and it
fixed it in a matter of minutes.

Good luck.

Have you tried hooking a cable up between your macbook and the printer
and printing directly, just to see if Mojave will actually print to that
printer without any network situation intervening?

It's just a thought, and I'm not a Mac person so it may be a silly
suggestion but it seems everything else has failed so I thought I'd put
it out there as a possibility. If you can hook up directly and it does
print from your macbook then you'll know it's a network issue with
Mojave. If you can hook up directly and still can't print then you'll
know it's a Mojave/HPLJ5000 issue that you'd most likely need to take up
with HP (which will probably tell you to contact Apple) or with Apple
(which will most likely tell you to contact HP.)

Please keep us posted with whatever else you find out because I'm sure
you're not the only person with that problem.

Re: [Finale] Need help with HP LJ 5000 and MacOS Mojave

2019-05-05 Thread Johannes Gebauer
On my wife's computer I get what I assume is the normal ping response
with a ms-value for each ping.

My Macbook like my wife's is connected via WIFI, mine doesn't even have
an ethernet connection.

Everything worked fine until I upgraded to Mojave.

The WIFI in the house consists of

A Fritzbox router connected to the DSL
Another Fritzbox router used as a WIFI repeater, where the printer is
connected via ethernet.

My Macbook lives in the same room as that repeater fritzbox, so it
usually connects to that WIFI.

There is also a little Fritz WIFI repeater, which is what my wife's
computer is connected through.

Just to make sure that this doesn't play a role, I took my computer into
that room, it connected to the WIFI through the little repeater (the
Fritzbox can show the Mesh-setup in detail). No change, it could still
not access the printer. The WIFI access was now identical to my wife's
Mac, at least in terms of where the computer was connected in relation
to the printer.

Ergo, I am pretty sure it has to do with the computer's setup, or Mojave
itself. There must be a setting I have overlooked, which prevents the
computer from talking properly to the printer.

Dear Robert,

well, since noone else reported problems of their HP 5000 I assumed
there must be drier compatibility. However, the real test right now is
accessing the web interface of the printer, which works from my wife's
Mac, and even from my iphone, but not from my own Mac. Now, this is
definitely not a driver issue, as no driver needs to be installed.

So what is it? I can access all other internal network addresses from my
mac just fine.

This is driving me nuts, I desperately need to print some music out.

That does sound more like network settings. Can you access any addresses on

I can also not access the web interface of the printer from my Mojave

There must be a setting here that I haven't found, and it is obviously

Yup. The fact that is does indeed work on your wife’s computer is telling.
I’m still running Sierra due to incompatibility here with APFS and older OS’s

yeah they explicitly said they don't need the score, only a
transposed part (i don't know where the transposed score is or if
there in fact is one), and there is a fixed (small) budget that is
just too small for me to do the entire score even if i wanted to.

thanks!

In my experience, the singer reads from score, with the proviso that
the vocal line is immediately above the piano line and that the
other instruments on are reduced-size staves above the vocal line.
(See, for example, the score of Pierrot Lunaire

.)

The other option would be to provide a piano/vocal score with a
piano reduction of all the instrumental parts. But that may be more
trouble than you need for this particular project.

i've been asked to create the vocal part (no other parts) for a

just wanted to make sure that nothing aside from a couple of cues

the job is for a professional ensemble that could probably sightread the score.
