Gear said. “People that do endurance sports have quite a connection with musicians, as it turns out. The skill and expertise just morphs from the music side to the sports side. We don’t have any professional musicians on staff, but there are a couple of customer support employees that play in bands, and we certainly share a passion and interest for it.” Oh dear. ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu
Re: [Finale] MakeMusic joins Peaksware
The first press release mentions that PeaksWare's program TrainingPeaks has something to do with endurance training -- I think that we veteran Finale users know a lot about endurance training, given all the long-standing bugs we've had to endure as well as the new ones that have been introduced with each new release. So in that regard nothing should change. :-) Seriously, though, I'm not quite sure what benefits an athletic training assistance company can bring to a music notation program or a music accompaniment program. I can see how there might be some advantage in the training field for SmartMusic (How To Train For a Week-Long Wagner-Fest or some such) but for music notation? I hope that the new corporate umbrella thing will allow the MakeMusic developers adequate development dollars to fix the problems while moving ahead into the future. Only time will tell. David H. I'm going to pop in here just to say that I have had problems with 2014 that make it unusable for me. Two things continue to happen: Finale loses its ability to undo, and I have navigation issues that seem insurmountable. MM support has been kind and their best people have spent hours with me - even screen sharing, but in the end, they don't solve the problems. They have some of my files that exhibit this behavior, so I assume they are working on it, but even in what seems to me should be frank conversation, they don't admit to the extend of the bugs. I am surprised that no one else here has experienced similar 2014 behavior, because I don't think my set up is unusual.
