Hi Ryan,

Expression tool menu - Set Above Staff or Below Staff baselines. Use the
triangles at the left of the staff. The leftmost triangle controls the whole
document.

I'd like to reset all of the expression baselines for the whole document.
Every staff on every score system. I don't see a reset command anywhere.
Is there one? Have I missed it? Is there a plug-in that will do this?
 Thanks!

If you have selected the menu bar to show - the above and below staff distances
show in the menu bar at the top of the window in whatever units you have chosen

Ryan,

Am I misunderstanding this? Pick one staff, drag all the triangles to the
level of the leftmost, then drag the leftmost to the distance you want. As far
as I know, it is now done for the entire document. Maybe I'm missing something
but my understanding is: Leftmost triangle = document setting; next one to the
right = the selected staff in the whole document; third to the right = setting
for the selected staff on the particular line in page view. Never did figure

Someone please enlighten me, if I am wrong.

Yes, that's the way it works, but the 3rd triangle only moves that
particular staff on that system. I can move that one on system 1, but
system 2 isn't affected, nor are any other staves that have had the
triangles moved. I'm looking for a way to line up all the triangles on all
the staves all at once. I don't want to have to manually adjust each staff
on each system. I want to reset them all and start making manual
adjustments from scratch. There doesn't seem to be a way to reset them all
to zero (more specifically, the baseline height).

like if you do not want the expressions to adjust left or right while you
are resetting the baselines to go to the Horizontal tab and uncheck this
function. I know this does not give you PERFECT baseline resetting but it
can be pretty close.

As far as I know, it is now done for the entire document. Maybe I'm
missing something but my understanding is: Leftmost triangle = document
setting; next one to the right = the selected staff in the whole
document;
third to the right = setting for the selected staff on the particular
line
in page view. Never did figure out what the 4th one does.

Someone please enlighten me, if I am wrong.

And if that is done while in Scroll View, it's done for the entire
 score, not just one system.

Re: [Finale] resetting baselines

2013-02-04 Thread Ryan
That moves all expressions though. I only want the expressions above the
staff to move.

Re: [Finale] resetting baselines

2013-02-04 Thread Fiskum, Steve
You just need to go into the What tab and deselect below and select
above staff? When you go to the Move vertically box put in a large
positive number.
