Files that refuse to open [39780]
PsPad lets you know that some file types aren't commonly used in languages it understands, but rather than just flagging them, it locks them up so they're dead in the water. Right now I'm on a PHP project. I've tried for days to get some key files to open (like *.txt, and *.lang). I've tried registering them -- no go -- and finally resorted to having a Notepad clone open simultaneously with PsPad to edit file types that PsPad refuses to deal with. Surely there's a way of configuring this otherwise-excellent utility so that it will open any file you ask it to. There isn't a solution? PSPAD is wonderful but with this issue i can't use it. I tried everything and search any possible solution but PSPAD automatically translate the extended ASCII drawing chars I use in my source files. I don't know the codepage. Code page on status bar is OEM (DOS). 201 is the ASCII code. When in pspad you can press ALT GR and with the numeric pag 201. I use Courier New font but the problem is not on screen but on the file after I save. There is another strange fact. When I press ALT-GR and 201 for example, on sceeen I see the double upper left angle but on the status, when I move the curson on the char, I read + 43 $2B. This is the confirm that PsPad change automatically my chars when I digit. Better integrated FTP-Tool [39796]
Hi, first, sorry for my bad english. I'm a german user. Today I tested the integrated FTP-Tool, because I hope, that I can abandon to my FTP-Tool in future. Sadly I miss some handle on the integrated FTP-Tool. - to rename a folder or a file, you must click on the rename-icon or use the rightclick-menu. I wish, that I can rename like in every other tool. Click on the folder/file two times slowly or pressing F2. - moving files or folders to another folder. Select one or more files/folders like explorer-filehandle. Click and hold down on the selected files/folders an put them into another folder. The second possibility is: select one or more files/folder, like I discriped it up to this sentence. Rightclick on them. Select move from the rightclick-Menu opens a input-dialog for the requested path. I think, with these two improvements, I can abandon to my ftp-tool and only use PSPad to programm and handle my server-files. Thank you for PSPad. Exploit in latest beta [39802]
Hi I downloaded and installed the latest beta yesterday. Just out of curiosity I later clicked on Check for update in the Help menu and my antivirus warned me of a W32 exploit. I forget the name of it now, and Kaspersky didn't have it listed on its website, but I tried clicking this twice and the same thing happened -- with Kaspersky Internet Security (latest version) set to maximum security it prompted me that a remote exploit was trying to activate.
