[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #16855] [tech08] root_req'd techs not visible in tech tree
Follow-up Comment #10, bug #16855 (project freeciv): Awake again some comments: At the time of my original submission I was experimenting with a possibility to force tech-traders to aquire all requirements before they can get the one they are after. Could a similar lua script as mentioned in comment #7 help? You would need a self-rooted tech and a lua signal if a tech is reserached. The script would need to check all requirements (the techs of this erea) to give the player the (free) 'next erea' tech. I'm not sure if this is possible at the moment as you would need to check if the player has researched specific techs. Perhaps an additional lua function is needed. Thus, no change to the interface is required - you can do it by using only ruleset code (techs as well as lua script). Raised as bug #17555, thanks. (Initially assigned to me but feel free to steal it.) You can commit it. But do remember the time frame for 2.3.0 ... ;-) ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?16855 ___ Nachricht geschickt von/durch Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Status of related bug reports do not indicate that, but I'm unable to reproduce problem in current S2_3 or TRUNK. With alien ruleset and default map size, start position creation usually fails in S2_2 for 5 player game. In TRUNK I tested several times with aifill 80, and map generation still succeeded. [Freeciv-Dev] [bug #17461] Ruleset directory ancients/data not found
Follow-up Comment #4, bug #17461 (project freeciv): I *think* running freeciv-server directly and running it with ./ser script has currently disturbingly different semantics If FREECIV_PATH is set, but FREECIV_DATA_PATH not: - freeciv-server uses FREECIV_PATH as default FREECIV_DATA_PATH - ./ser sets hardcoded default for FREECIV_DATA_PATH As the ./ser script always sets FREECIV_DATA_PATH, freeciv-server never applies its default for FRECIV_DATA_PATH when run via ./ser First we have to decide if this is just documentation bug, or should (and can) we change the way this works? I think that proper fix requires behavior to change, but I'm not really sure how. Documenting current behavior is certainly much easier solution, and maybe we leave it to that for 2.3 at least. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?17461 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

I removed some entries for which I didn't find a Salishan ortography and added some other entities for which I did find a Salishan ortography. I tried to be as consistant as reasonably possible, and rid the names of diacritics that appear to be too Byzantine (barred lambda with accent grave?), superscripts, underscores and things that don't seem to be used consistently anyway. It still leaves such names as Skwxwú7meš, Nexwsƛayem and Xwemelch'stn. Follow-up Comment #2, bug #17564 (project freeciv): It's not a bug, it's a feature. (C) Just in case you are not joking, I answer in serious manner. Negative endturn would mean immediately ending game. We don't need 32770 different ways to say so (values (-32768) - (1) ). Allowing game to go beyond current max endturn is a bad idea. Max endturn exist for a reason; freeciv cannot handle turn numbers beyond it. Game would most likely crash in turn 32769 (max endturn + 1). In addition to all that, my testing showed that there is callback check that in fact prevents anybody from really setting negative endturn. Attempt to do so resulted in error message Cannot set endturn earlier than current turn. This negative enturn stuff was probably oversight when old endyear (which could be negative) setting was replaced by endturn. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?17564 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Update of patch #2411 (project freeciv): Planned Release: 2.4.0 = 2.3.0, 2.4.0 ___ Follow-up Comment #1: S2_3 version. Cannot be committed during string freeze. It seems that number of humans returned by metaserver remains 0 as long as game is in pregame. I'll leave that to another ticket.
