[Audyssey] vip gameszone v3
Hi. Just checking on the Vip gameszone site, they seem to have version 3.0 of all of their games. firstly, I was wondering (given the awards discussion), when this happened, and secondly, as I personally own X hour, galaxy ranger and Lords of the galaxy, does anyone know if there are any gameplay changes in the various version 3's of the games? or is it just vista compatibility that's been added. I don't believe I missed these, i'm clearly not as omniscient as I thought I was. Beware the Grue! Hi, Agreed with Bryan One-Hundred Percent. That was extremely harsh... I would vote for Sarah, as a programmer and an audiogamer. Rail Racer was an extremely good game, but Sarah is also very good No game is bug free. Hi Bryan. I find the Gem in the first Silver Crest adventure, and have 2, but the are Black, and small, where do i so find the blue ones? I have tryed to use the gems, but nothing happens. Thanks. Jimmy - Original Message - From: Bryan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, January 26, 2008 12:11 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Sryth-Kyul-Thanor The sword of Merzekk is in fact hte Rusty Longsword, but since you don't have the three gems it doesn't have its power yet. But if you have one of the gems (they're cloudy blue), and use one of them, it will shatter and you'll notice something different about the sword. But only two gems are currently in the game. As I said the first one is in the first Silver Crest adventure with the THurn Worm. Just explore the woods surrounding the pasture and slay the worm at its nest. The gem is in there. The second is in Meglasmire. As for the Sword of Merzekk, the sword itself is found in the village of Colnea in the Harte Hills. If you examine the wears the blind peddler has for sale and buy the rusty longsword for I believe eight gold, you'll be on your way to possessing the sword. THe first gem is in the first Silver Crest quest. If you explore the woodlands surrounding the pasture and kill the worm in its nest, you'll have the chance to reach in and take an object. This gemstone is one of the three. The second gem is located in Meglasmire near Tryndmoor, but you need a master level in Thievery. That is level seventy. The third gem is currently not available. Re: [Audyssey] vip gameszone v3
Hi claudio. I would indeed like to do a review of galaxy ranger, but playing the game over speakers really is a pest. If I could just get my voice to come out of the computer along with the sound of the game, i can plug my r09 into the line in for my headphones and do it that way. I've got a Usb mike, but it seems to be totally useless. In fact, I'm getting slightly frustrated, sinse simply having my computer do what any bog standard tape recorder, pluss my r09 and multitrack recorder can do strikes me as a laughably easy matter, yet despite help from people on this list, I stil haven't come up with a quick and simple way of doing it, which is another reason I haven't done a casting of the pod for such a long while. Yes, those guys make good games, but a lot of people don't know about them because of the dumb mistakes they make, such as not getting someone with english as a first language to do their instructions for the english speaking market. Re: [Audyssey] vip gameszone v3
I think they are in English Claudio, but the problem is that if English isn't a person's first language they don't always tend to word things right. That makes it hard for those of us who do speak English as our native language to understand what was being said. Without meaning to be racist I'll say that Russians in particular seem to be most noticeable in this. I think that has to do with the fact that in Russian things are said almost backwards compared to English. I'm no expert on that but I have had a few Russian friends in the past who've told me that. Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so. - Original Message - From: Claudio [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, January 26, 2008 12:36 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] vip gameszone v3 Hello Che! Come to think of it I've never even seen them on this list. But I agree that if you're an audio games developer and English isn't your first language you really should get someone who does speak English as their native language to do your instruction manuals. [Audyssey] question about ships in smugglers 3
hi list. I'm progressing well in smugglers 3 but i have several questions relating to ships. Firstly when you are hiring crew in the bar for a ship how can you tell what type of crew you are hiring? secondly when using the pc cursor and you press tab, you find various scroll bars that can be adjusted, does anyone no what they do? Thirdly how can you set how many members of each type you would like in your crew. My next question relates to upgrades to ships. Is there an easy way using jfw to find out if an upgrade you have tried to do was successful? as at the moment you just get the click sound but that doesn't indicate if the upgrade was installed. On the same topic of upgrades, does anyone no what it means when it says by the side of an upgrade n/a? I'm guessing it means not available at that particular planet. Does anyone no if that is the case how you find out what upgrades are available at particular locations? by that i mean it seems a bit stupid if you have to go hunting around for a particular upgrade at different planets just kind of guessing. My last question relates to boarding shuttles and passenger cabbins. I have upgraded my cargo bay to cargo bay 3, and i bought the xl boarding shuttle i also atempted to hire some crew which i no worked as later they were killed. But i had this option to go after a VIP trader and when i turned up at his ship it said i didn't have the boarding bays or something, even though i upgraded to cargo bay 3 and so far as i no bought the boarding shuttle. Also orriginally when i turned up at this guys location in my star wolf, the game was quite happy to let me attack and open fire on the ship, but now i have upgraded to the bucconeer it won't let me attack with my weapons does anyone have any ideas? Lastly how can i get passenger cabbins? as at the moment all the planets i have visited say n/a by the side of passenger cabbin. Sorry for all the questions and thanks for any help. [Audyssey] muds for beginners?
Hi all, The library for the blind here in SA got hold of a braille book from the library in the US, called Bots by Andrew Leonard. This book is very interesting, examining computers and Artificial Intellegence, and discussing things such as chat bots, etc. This book talks about an online mud game in the early 90's from the university of Texas, which is text-based, and called Point Moo-t. Does this still exist, and how do I get started with muds. I've often thought of trying a mud, but I don't want fantasy stuff, are there more realistic muds? What's a good, text-only mud for beginners? I've also heard that I need a thing called a mud client, what is this, and from where do I get it? I'm using JAWS 8.0. [Audyssey] Mac Mud clients
Hey All, I know there are at least three other Mac users here, so am wondering about the most accessible / friendly mud client that you've used?... I.E. I'd really like one that automagically reads the incoming text if I can get one. -Shy of that, I'd like one that's pretty much the easiest one you've found. I'm not a huge gamer, so really don't want a lot of fuss, I just want to check out a couple of quick things, so am really looking for the least lead time / effort. Just want to hop on and off without a lot of extraneous key strokes / navigation and such... I've found mention of Nuntius and MudWalker, and out of those, MudWalker supposedly doesn't speak incoming text without review. So are there others?... Thanks so much for your time and catch y'all on the flip! Have an awesome rest of your weekend!... Rock! [Audyssey] dr. Kawashima
Hi all, Reading about Dr. Kawashima's brain training, I can't see why it couldn't be made accessible, as it is based very much on numbers. Does anyone have any suggestion as to how I may be able to find an email address or contact details for someone whose involved with dr. I'm going to find the add and write so long to a society for the blind in Japan, as I'm sure that if they're interested, they would at least be able to get in touch with him, or I'd love to know what is done for Japanese blind people who are into gaming, as Nintendo and many of these companies are based in Japan, maybe there are games for the blind in Japan, but we haven't really heard of them because they're not in English? Re: [Audyssey] Mac Mud clients
Well, Nuntus is quite accessible, but it's got some flaws. One really bad one is that it uses Apple Sapi or whatever Apple calls that, and just like windows, it puts everything in a buffer, and also just like windows, it doesn't have a key to shut up the current buffer (I.E. The control key in screen readers). What we need is a client that actually interacts with VoiceOver, not the systems speech because with the system speech there is no way to control what is spoken. It really does put me in a rage that we don't have such client, but untill one is available we must, as always, stick to bloody windows. Everything mudding related is windows unfortunately. Not even David will port his Mud Client over. Oh well. Indeed Che, though their later games such as lords of the galaxy seem to improve on this, it's just a shame that they don't alter the documentation for their earlier games. I think the worst I remember was when I tried super football, the manual there seemed totally strange, - despite the fact that when I'd worked things out the game was actually quite simple, - which is why I personally didn't buy it, but then again sport isn't really my thing anyway. beware the Grue! Hmmm, I thought it was only X hour which had the ten minute limitation (I certainly had long games of lords of the galaxy, galaxy ranger and the sport games when I tried them). Imho the five minit limit on X hour is a bit too much combined with the 3 day demo time, but as I've said, I only think this applied to X hour, it's just a shame Vip gameszone don't change things. Re: [Audyssey] question about ships in smugglers 3
Hi Alex. Sinse I use Hal, I can't answer any of your questions about the highering crew display I'm afraid sinse I'm not sure how Jaws would read the same page. For upgrades though, firstly when you have selected an upgrade and then click buy a message box should appear saying you buy the item with an okay button, that is how you know you've bought it. As to locations of upgrades, it depends upon both te faction and the planet I think. For example, the Mx versions of weapons and laser and phaser upgrades are only available from the outer rim alliance. Boarding bays I believe are a specific upgrade to cargo bays to allow boarding, and different from both boarding shuttles (used in combat), and standard cargo bays, I think their a special of the syndicate. Like wise looking at the manual, I believe only the coalition sell passenger cabbins. I'd suggest going to another faction to buy the upgrades if you want them, though being as the coalition seem to get missions involving transporting passengers, where as the other factions don't, it might be more economical to save the space for cargo. Re: [Audyssey] weird psp blind product!
Interesting though that it uses the psp, not a device most blind people have, grin. But what I was actually also wondering, how do you even put a program on a psp, it just uses cartriges doesn't it?
