I never considered the final fantasy games accessible. But I have always
loved them. I played when I still had vision as a child on the nintendo.
But would watch others play it on the station. There is text to read how
was it possible to have that accessible?

hi everyone.

what are your views on this.

i used to find the final fantasy gams really accessible, i could know how
to cast the spells, know how to move etc. for me, probably the most
accessible combat game out there for the play station.

what does everyone think of the accessibillity of final fantasy?

It's be renamed to scenario campaign, but sounds just like
tekken force. except in 3d. But the concept is still the
same from what I can see. Run around a stage and beat down

Re: [Audyssey] good news: shades of doom

2009-09-21 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
Agreed. I often run my desktop with the monitor off for exactly the same
reasons you pointed out. If I am the only one using the computer with
speech there is no need to have the screen on waisting power, risk
ruining the monitor from over use, etc. If anyone like Nicol is asked
why his/her monitor is off maybe they should approach it from this angle.
As far as someone getting suspicious over a monitor being turned off
that's just ridiculous, over bearing, and also disturbing. Anyone who
does that is neither your friend or family. What they are is your
jailer. No offense.

dark wrote:

stops my monitor from burning out, -- especially true if i've had
my desktop on for an extremely long time listening to audio.

Imho there's no point having a monitor on if nobody is using it,
especially for a long time.

It severely disturbs me that what you privately do in your own home by
your own choice is so strictly sensored in this way, especially
if you yourself aren't a jahova's witness.

Exactly what thomas said. It is ridiculous, like you would
need to justify your actions. Certainly not. If that was me,
in your shoes, and next time someone comes in asking why
your monitor is off I would just reply with ' I am blind,
Why do you not run a screenreader when you are on yours, duh

having to answer for my actions in my own home

Hi Josh,
Keep in mind you are talking about someone who lives in South Africa not

Nicol, you are an adult and if you want the screen turned off you can turn it off and if people put up or give you krap tell them to go to you-know-where. You're 31 years old or so. You control your life, not them. I recommend you get yourself to a training center either one of the state ones or one of those two that I mentioned.

Re: [Audyssey] big favour

2009-09-21 Thread Thomas Ward
Nicol, while I'm sure any number of us could do this where is the fun in
going straight to level 8? Part of the fun of Shades of Doom is battling
your way level by level to the final conflict between you and the boss.
If I give you a saved game of level 8 part of your success will be based
on my skills as a game player, based on my work, and you have cheated
your way to nearly the end. I don't think that is fair for those of us
who won the game fair and square by practicing until we won.

Nicol wrote:

HI all
I would like to listen to a recording of shades of doom while I am at

Raul's recording suffice except for area8 which he did not complete and area
9 which he did not record.
Fortunately I do have a recording program, a very basic one, step voice
recorder.
The only thing is; I cannt resume a recording at a later stage if I have
closed step voice recorder.
So what I want to do is start from the beginning of area8 and record areas 8
and 9 so that I have a full sod recording to listen to when I get borred at
work.
I haven't managed to complete sod on experience levels 3 and above.
So the favour I want to ask you all is:
Can someone please e-mail me off-list a save game file at the start OF area
8, preferably on don't hurt me, but can i play daddy is also all right
but it must be at the start of area8.
its much appreciated.

Re: [Audyssey]   turning monitor off during pc use

2009-09-21 Thread alex wallis

Hi.
just to jump into this thread, I can fully understand where the original
poster is coming from.

I am now 23 but at the time was 18.
I really enjoy playing all in play, which does not use real money for
gambling.
However I would frequently find my brother would come in and say something
like are you gambling again and frequently my parents would ask me for
reassurance I wasn't gambling.

In fact, once my father came in saw I had a bet for like 2 chips and
basically said to me to prove to him I wasn't gambling.
He basically said if it wasn't real I wouldn't mind disconnecting from the
game mid hand.

I did and of course lost my chips but I was quite annoyed.
Luckily soon after I moved to a laptop and now my family don't usually come
down and look at its screen.

But my mum some times asks me what I am doing.
If anyone knows of a program I can use to switch my laptops monitor off I
would be very interested to know as its none of there business what I do at
home, It of course goes off after inactivity but I would like it off
completely.

I'd never gamble in real life.

Hi.
just to jump into this thread, I can fully understand where the original
poster is coming from.
I am now 23 but at the time was 18.
I really enjoy playing all in play, which does not use real money for gambling.

Re: [Audyssey]   turning monitor off during pc use

2009-09-21 Thread Zachary Kline
Hi,
I, too would like to know of such a program. Under Linux, I can use vbetool
for the console and a
dummy x server for Gnome.
Under Windows, the situation seems much less clear-cut and appears to require
computer-specific
keyboard shortcuts, of which I know none. If any more general solution exists,
I'd love to hear
about it.
