[Audyssey] So anybody still playing core exiles?

I still play.

The 1 thing I love about it is that I haven't got a pa account but if you
leave your account nothing gets deleted for 180 days. So if you go away and
leave your game for a few months you can come back to it and pick up exactly
where you left off. 

You can own multiple ships now but only use 1 at a time. There's other
things as well I think there's an extra system or 2 in the game. I say that
because there's a few names that I've come across that I don't recognise
from before. Looks like there's a few more items in the game as well. 

It's still as friendly as ever in terms of the community. I haven't noticed
any difference in accessibility so that's good. 

You can also do salvage and mining missions now. So it has expanded a bit.

Hi, just a couple things.  When i'm walking or running the steps are too
fast but the movement doesn't go as far as the steps sound if you get my
drift.  Second, would it not be a good idea to have a voice speak tomb
hunter mysteries of the ancients on the intro?

That's one of my main complaints when comparing today's games: 
PS2/3/Xbox/etc, to the ealrier ps1 and beyond games. Granted audio and 
visual have progressed far, but I've seen so many games now that to me 
anyway, just sound like a jumbled mess- this, when coupled with loud and 
trashy music in the background- TEKKEN 6, I'm looking at you, makes playing 
a practice in headache for the older gamers.
I love the soul calibur series to death, but I had a heck of a time getting 
used to Soul Calibur 3- music's lovely, but the fight sounds jumble so much 
that often one can't even tell for sure what just happened lol.
So yes, granted the soul blade game, older and alot uglier and slower by 
comparison, but at least one can follow every move as it happens without 
needing a slow replay.

No one ever kicked ass by saying I can't.

I find it a bit chaotic- almost like 4 games going on at once. I vaguely 
made out captain america in one part, then maybe spiderman, but most of it

Hi,

if you notice, listen while you are walking. sounds do pan, even though you 
do not hear your footstep. If you are walking, you do continuasly move 
forward. It would be so iritating only hearing things pan while your foot 
is on the ground. For me, this adds more to the realism.

Ben my good friend, I'm pretty sure that Johny, from the sounds of it, is 
more of a vetarin than either of us... just sayin'. Anyone who's played soul 
blade, in my opinion, can be called a soul calibur vetarin. lol. And not 
just SC either. Soul Blade was a pretty obscure game, and the series didn't 
really have any bang for the buck until the first soul calibur game in 1998. 
But I tend to agree.. so many fighting games these days are jumbled messes 
of noise and clunky gameplay... 3d MK games, here's looking at you.

Yeah. Unfortunately for the people who can't follow games that go too

I find it a bit chaotic- almost like 4 games going on at once. I vaguely

It's actually M O T A, not M O D A. It stands for Mysteries of the Ancients. 
THe full title is actually Tomb Hunter I: Mysteries of the Ancients. We just 
use MOTA for everyday reference.

I also find it a pitty. I really liked the keys being as they were.
As I run most of the time and only slow down when I really must, since that 
makes a hell of a lot more fun, and you don#t get bored so easily.
Couldn't be there an option to toggle that in the future? Or maybe even to 
reassign the whole keyboard? I know this is not easy, and I don't request 
it for now. But I personally would like it. Just my oppinion on things.

Of course, I am not everyone, so we'll see how things work out.

out. For one thing there were not enough of them to truly randomly say
something different each time so they got extremely redundant very
ffast. Especially, if I was testing the game several times a day and
had to hear the same thing over and over again. Second, the comments
didn't help with traps anyway. They came too early or too late which
made them next to useless. So several people agreed with me they
should go.

have some kind of batteries, after all it's far too easy just to run the
thing through the whole game and with the sword, you're pretty much

if you notice, listen while you are walking. sounds do pan, even though you 
do not hear your footstep. If you are walking, you do continuasly move 
forward. It would be so iritating only hearing things pan while your foot 
is on the ground. For me, this adds more to the realism.

1. Does anyone know of what happened to the star wars game on USA games?
Is it still under develipment?

2. The download link for mota won't work it keeps giving me a broken link 
message.
Anyone know what is wrong with my computer?

Hi Shane,
As for the Star Wars game we were developing we had to abandon that
project do to copyright issues. We contacted Lucas Licensing to
legally obtain a license for the Star Wars trademark and characters,
but were turned down. Part of the reason is that Lucas charges
extremely huge royalty fees designed for companies that can sell
millions of units instead of a couple thousand or so. As a result the
kind of money were talking about was millions of U.S. dollars which
USA Games obviously doesn't have.
We have thought about releasing the project as freeware etc, but even
that is risky because if Lucas finds out we released the game without
obtaining a license we could be sued for copyright infringement. As a
result while we have an alpha of the project laying around it is a
serious financial risk to us to release it without obtaining some sort
of permission from Lucas first. That's why the Star Trek game is
effectively in limbo as of this time.
As for downloading Mysteries of the Ancients are you downloading it
from our website or a third-party sight like audiogames.net? We have
tested the links on our website and heading over to
http://www.usagamesinteractive.com/products.php
should take you directly to our products page. From there simply pick
the version for the platform/operating system you are running.

Hi Hayden,
Not without a lot of work. I nevr wrote the game with a key mapping
feature in mind and to do that would require ripping out the entire
input system and rewriting it from scratch. Not exactly a feature I'd
enjoy adding this late in the development process. Especially, since I
just majorly reworked that code last week for beta 15 to make the
input a bit smoother than it was.

[Audyssey] Something to try

HI all,
Tonight while debugging/testing Mysteries of the Ancients I realised
there is still something we haven't tried to do in order to track down
that blue screen error. Most of you don't know this but cross-platform
libraries such as SFML often out put error messages directly to the
console, or in Windows the command prompt. Since most of us are use to
dialog boxes, message boxes, and all the other Windows trappings I
doubt it ocurred to anyone before now to try and launch the program
from the command prompt to see if there are any error codes etc
printed to the screen. So that's what we need to do.
What I would do if I were you guys is copy the installation files to a
test directory like c:\test
 and then open the command prompt window by typing cmd into the run
dialog box and pressing enter. Now, for you Windows newbies that know
nothing about Dos commands change to the test directory we created by
doing a
cd\test
and pressing enter. Now, simply type tomb and press enter. The game
should launch and play. When you exit the game there should be error
messages printed to the screen if there were any encountered. Let me
know your results.
