Re: [Audyssey] X-Wheel suggestion - Re: X-Wheel 1.0.3 released

2012-07-06 Thread Damien C. Pendleton

Hi Charles,
Braille support isn't added to BGT yet as far as I am aware, but of course
if Philip decides to implement that feature I will gladly honour it for
X-Wheel.

Regards,
Damien.

Hi Ryan,

No worries. I for one agree with you. I understand there are bugs in
the game and the price seems high in light of the fact there is a free
Wheel of Fortune game floating around written by Freedom Games or
whatever. Still, William didn't have the right to insult Damien, and
state that its not worth $20 when it is clear Damien is trying hard to
make a commercial product. He has fixed two patches in as many days
which I'd expect from a developer of commercial software.

Just my two cents worth.

Or, even better, suggest to the game developer, directly rather than
through a list for gamers, in a constructive way, how the game can be made
so that you would buy it. If you find bugs, let them know about them so
they can work on fixing the issues.

Hi Charles,
You can get an indication as to what version is released by looking on the
download page of the game. In the basic information it gives you the
current version number. Additionally, something which I actually forgot to

Hi folks,
Due to yet more bug reports I've received today I felt it necessary to
post a 1.0.3 update. This fixes a few issues, one of which was that the
local scoreboard wasn't working. Since that is one of the things you
guys are paying for, I thought that was a pretty urgent update. Grin.

Please redownload at the usual address.
Thanks, and apologies for the teething problems!

Or, even better, suggest to the game developer, directly rather than through
a list for gamers, in a constructive way, how the game can be made so that
you would buy it. If you find bugs, let them know about them so they can
work on fixing the issues.

Hi Damien,

Smile. Well, I for one do like your version better. At least from the
demo I've played so far. It works great on Windows 7, and of course
being built using the Blastbay Game Toolkit I know that it is being
developed with decent tools that aren't going to be outdated in the
near future. However, the only reason I mentioned Freedom Wheel of
Fortune is that it could be a hard sell for some people who think that
your version should be just as free as Freedom Wheel of Fortune which
I don't think is nearly as good as your version. The only reason I
haven't purchased X-Wheel is that I'm personally short on cash.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] x wheel how can this be a charged game?

2012-07-06 Thread Charles Rivard
Well, for one thing, you've got to give the producer of the game enough time
to receive constructive criticism rather than insulting messages. You've
got to see that the developer sees your complaints, as well as you, as being
credible based on your reports of bugs and your attitude toward them.
You've got to give them time to work on bug fixes rather than demanding that
a newly developed game, marketed less than 2 days ago, works perfectly on
every computer, of which yours is one of. All computers are different,
issues may come up when the game is given to the public, and those issues
must be submitted to the developer in! an! adult! manner!, rather than
appearing as though a 10-year-old is demanding immediate satisfaction. If I
were the developer, I would immediately trash your Email based on what you
wrote. If you are under the age of 12, I would overlook it. If you are
over the age of 12, show credibility and send bug reports or complaints in a
responsible manner to get the desired results.

hi all,

i do not see x-wheel being worth charged for.
1. when jaws selected the arrow keys don't respond in the menus
2. on windows seven home premium 32 bit i seem to keep playing the role of
both players

how is this worth 20 dollars?

JMO, but the current price of roughly $15 isn't too high, when you compare
how the game performs, and it's features and sound, to what was produced
probably 5 or 6 years ago as a free product that has not been updated since,
and that has a small database of puzzles. Thanks.

Hi Ryan,

Hi Thomas and all,
If anyone prefers the original Freedom Wheel of Fortune and it works no
problem for them then by all means continue to play that one. Nobody is in
any way forced to purchase the game. However, in my experience there are
many issues with the Freedom Games version. The first and perhaps most
serious one is there is a Type Mismatch error message every time you get a
letter right, at which point the game completely exits, making it totally
unplayable. Other issues include a lack of comprehensive documentation, no
computer player and therefore hardly any challenge or competition in any
way, and an obvious lack of interest in maintaining it since the last
version seems to have been released over six years ago.
I have an electronic Wheel of Fortune game, again that I can't play due to
the visual element, so I decided to make a version similar to that one,
hence the birth of X-Wheel. However that has even gone above and beyond my
original plans, so in my view the Freedom version pretty much holds no
contest as far as I am concerned.
Admittedly X-Wheel has had a few overlooked issues crop up which are now,
I believe, fixed, however it has been thoroughly tested and I am well
satisfied with the result. Also as previously stated I do plan to maintain
it and, depending on reception, add other popular features, such as online
play, difficulty levels, puzzle creators and the like. This, I believe,
makes it unique in the market and therefore I decided to make it
commercial.

Thanks.
Regards,
Damien.

deep rooted bug because looking at my code yields no possible methods as to
how this could go wrong, so I'll have to take you through it step by step to

The biggest problem is that I can't cut and paste my unlock number. I am
doing it manually and somehow it isn't working, despite my best efforts to
do it exactly as I copied it off the web page.

Does anyone else have this problem?
Below is an error I got while trying to use the registration form after a
number of attempts.

Re: [Audyssey] x wheel unlocking problem

2012-07-06 Thread Allan Thompson
Ok, it must have been a glitch. I exited the game, restarted, input my info and
it worked first time.
Still a copy and paste feature would be a good idea, if it was possible.

thanks,

2012-07-06 Thread Damien C. Pendleton

Hi William,
If you are having problems with your keyboard I will happily help you go
through them to see if there is anything wrong.
I would first recommend you download the latest update and see if that fixes
your issue. There was a keyboard bug which is now fixed. If not come back to
me and I will see what I can do.

Thanks.
Regards,
Damien.

hi all,

i do not see x-wheel being worth charged for.
1. when jaws selected the arrow keys don't respond in the menus
2. on windows seven home premium 32 bit i seem to keep playing the role of
both players

how is this worth 20 dollars?

[Audyssey] X-Wheel 1.0.2

2012-07-06 Thread Damien C. Pendleton
   Hey folks,
X-Wheel 1.0.2 is now up and ready. The main fix is the bug Kelly kindly brought
to my attention last night regarding vowels that could still be purchased with
all vowels used. There are some other minor bugfixes as well.
Thanks.
Regards,
Damien.

Hey, I have heard different ones say to me, I can't make iOS games
because I don't have an iOS device or like me I don't know programming,
I can't get a understanding of it.
Well here is the link to the file that Baked Ham Games sent me to be
able to make games for iOS Narratavious app.

And the cool thing about this is you can charge people for your games!
Michael Ham the developer said that he is hoping that more people will
add more games to the app so he can expand it to other platforms such
as the web, Mac and Pc and other mobile devices.

Please everyone give this file a look and tell me what your thoughts are?
Here is the download link.

Re: [Audyssey] could this ever be workable in swamp?

2012-07-06 Thread simon dowling
you got it, it could be crossed with castaway kind of thing it would
have to cost a certain amount of rep and exp i think, you could even
work it in to a new mission, it would take the gaming experience to a
whole new level.

Hello,

We have new products coming down the pipeline. We are working our way
through some red tape at present, but hope to start releasing new titles
in late summer, although it may be sooner if possible. One of the new
titles has already wrapped up development.

In the very near future, we'll be releasing some information about our
current plans, including an in depth look at what we've been working on
for so long. Our product line is going to see a major shift that will be
huge for our customers.

It's been a long time coming, and we're excited to finally take the
wraps off our projects.

Feel free to share this information with anyone else who may be
interested.
