[Audyssey] Help with Sixthsense.

2013-01-13 Thread michael barnes

Hello.
While I play Sixthsense I hear a girl screaming and runing, so I was
wondering if that is when I am suppose to shake the iPhone?

Or when do I suppose to shake the device?
Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] Gma Tank Commander help

2013-01-13 Thread dark
I personally did it by basically getting all my friendly tanks to stay still
in the forest, slaughtering as much of the opposition as possible then
pegging it north as quickly as possible and even so the artiliary blew a
couple of those tanks in the process.

Your friendly tanks never really seemed that clever at taking out oncoming
shots or avoiding enemy fireto me, and I hope if David ever enhances the
game he'll improve them a bit, indeed I found them far more of a hindrance
than a help, :D.

Beware the grue!

Re: [Audyssey] Gma Tank Commander help

2013-01-13 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,

Definitely. I would love to kill that blasted mobile artillery but
there doesn't seem to be a way to do that in the current version. The
best a person can do with sector 5 is mine the road to the bridges to
destroy or slow down those enemy tanks that hit you at the end, and
then machine gun all the troops hiding out in the woods. Once done it
is basically a game of keeping the artillery etc from killing your
friendly tanks.

Cheers!

2013-01-13 Thread shaun everiss
aparently if you are lucky you can make it move by firing your guns
at it and or shells, but not dewstroy it.

I think it should be destroyable maybe as a boss battle may be a boss tank.
in fact that is a good idea maybe if you ever have a sequal for gtc,
you get on the transport, but on your way back boom your killed well
everyone else bar you is and that could be one of the first enemies
and you could actually destroy it.

Going to break your message down into individual questions and try to answer
as best I can:

*snip*

Will the Windows version of Change Reaction have score board posting?

*snip*

As my previous message said, we have not decided whether any titles will
have scoreboard posting yet, or which ones will if some do. Since Mac and
iOS both have native scoreboards built-in, which allow users to compete and
earn titles without the overhead of custom servers, it is more likely we
would support this on Mac/iOS, but we're not sure if any titles will at this
point, as the scoreboards were used by only a small handful of all the
players who bought our games in the past. We won't, in any case, limit
features for one platform just because we can't, or it is unfeasible, to
offer it to those using another. Hope that makes sense.

Here is another example. Mac offers system-wide spell checking in all text
entry areas…be they edit fields, text editors, etc. We wouldn't disable
spell checking in a Mac app that accepted text entry, just because Windows
XP/Vista/etc does not offer system-wide spell checking.

*snip*
I do not understand why Windows users are being somewhat left out. The mac
does not have as many users as Windows, not yet at least, and it seems
like you're going to be releasing more games for MAC, with more features
for the MAC, ETC, ETC.

*snip*

If you read our announcement from the release of ChangeReaction over at
draconisentertainment.com or AudioGames.net, you'll see that we plan on
releasing desktop titles that are essentially identical on Mac/Windows. We
do not expect there to be, in general, feature differences between
Mac/Windows releases. Scoreboards might be an exception. Mac releases will
come out first, for a variety of reasons, but that doesn't mean there will
not be Windows versions. Don't worry, we haven't forgotten our Windows fans.

*snip*
. A majority of the users on this list use Windows, at least this is what
I've seen. I would think, that your money will come from the users of
Windows more so than the MAC. Of course, there are some people who use
MAC, but not as many.

*snip*

There is a large and rapidly growing number of blind Mac users, myself
included. The demographic of Mac users, especially visually impaired ones,
tends to skew younger, which is also the demographic who enjoy and purchase
games. We project, and so far the numbers are holding pretty close to our
expectations, that we will see at least as many Mac sales as Windows, and
possibly more. We will know more definitively when ChangeReaction 2 is
released for Windows.

While I believe you are correct that most users on this list are Windows
users, that has more to do with the fact that, until now, there have been
very few audio game titles for the Mac of any description. We are changing
this. :)

*snip*

I was also wondering, will there be more pinball tables in the future?
*snip*

We don't comment on unannounced releases. Sorry! :)

Hope this clears everything up. Mac is no longer as much of a minority as it
once was. Windows will have to share the spotlight when it comes to games
now. :)

2013-01-13 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Lori,

Well, I usually strafe the snipers with the machine gun. I just go in
there and hold down the space bar as I turn. That will kill several of
the troops at one go. I've also just blanketed the woods with shell
attacks if I have the ammo which has a better than average chance of
killing most of the creeps in the woods before I get that far. :D

Cheers!

Lol, I thinkany time I've played that secter and won in the past it's been
by chance. Also sometimes when i hit my space bar to fire off an intersepter
nothing happens. What I might do is hunt around for that walkthrough of GTC
Raul Gallegos did, he never seems to get ruffled and always sounds calm,
even when the ammo dump blows up. Also another thing I like is the sound of
your friendly tanks, the question is though why don't they defend
themselves, ie when they're over the bridge and facing enimie tanks the same
as I am, they leave me to do all the work :)

Hi Lori.

Use your smoke shield to get in to the woods, then creep up up from the
side of the armed bunkers and take them down. A direct approach never
works as they've artillery positions to the left and right of you.
Remember that an important train is coming through that embankment.
Don't destroy the bunkers, they contain ammunition you'll need.

Lol, don't worry about it, I suppose I shouldn't panick as much, but
sometimes I'm sure that thing shoots more than 1 misile at me, and I've
hardly time to hit my space bar to deflect it.

The sector with the train is sector 3. :D

Hi, I've just started playing GMA Tank Commander again, but am finding
that as soon as I hit secter 5 things get really tough and I can't seem to
get through it without that mobile artilary attacking and blowing me up.
For 1 thing, when I head towards the woods and take out snipers hiding
there, I hear a misile coming at me, and although I fire an intersepter
I'm still hit, or else it hits the ammo dump which explodes and does
damage to me. Is there a way to keep the artilary from fireing on me?
Shells or machine guns don't seem to kill it either and my targeting
system doesn't pick it up either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: [Audyssey] Silver Dollar.

2013-01-13 Thread MissWings

Hi Josh,

I was curious whether this game is strictly a
Mac-only game, or whether you're planning on
making a version available to iDevice users. I'm
planning on getting an iPhone early next month,
so was curious whether I should keep an eye out
on the list for a compatible app. I'm a Windows
user, but I'm sure I'll be learning more about
the Mac works, at least in some ways, since I'll
be using VoiceOver on my phone.

questions and try to answer as best I can:

*snip*

As my previous message said, we have not decided
whether any titles will have scoreboard posting
yet, or which ones will if some do. Since Mac
and iOS both have native scoreboards built-in,
which allow users to compete and earn titles
without the overhead of custom servers, it is
more likely we would support this on Mac/iOS,
but we're not sure if any titles will at this
point, as the scoreboards were used by only a
small handful of all the players who bought our
games in the past. We won't, in any case, limit
features for one platform just because we can't,
or it is unfeasible, to offer it to those using another. Hope that makes sense.

Here is another example. Mac offers system-wide
spell checking in all text entry areas…be they
edit fields, text editors, etc. We wouldn't
disable spell checking in a Mac app that
accepted text entry, just because Windows
XP/Vista/etc does not offer system-wide spell checking.

*snip*
> I do not understand why Windows users are
being somewhat left out. The mac does not have
as many users as Windows, not yet at least, and
it seems like you're going to be releasing more
games for MAC, with more features for the MAC, ETC, ETC.

*snip*

If you read our announcement from the release of
ChangeReaction over at draconisentertainment.com
or AudioGames.net, you'll see that we plan on
releasing desktop titles that are essentially
identical on Mac/Windows. We do not expect there
to be, in general, feature differences between
Mac/Windows releases. Scoreboards might be an
exception. Mac releases will come out first, for
a variety of reasons, but that doesn't mean
there will not be Windows versions. Don't worry,
we haven't forgotten our Windows fans.

*snip*
> . A majority of the users on this list use
Windows, at least this is what I've seen. I
would think, that your money will come from the
users of Windows more so than the MAC. Of
course, there are some people who use MAC, but not as many.

*snip*

There is a large and rapidly growing number of
blind Mac users, myself included. The
demographic of Mac users, especially visually
impaired ones, tends to skew younger, which is
also the demographic who enjoy and purchase
games. We project, and so far the numbers are
holding pretty close to our expectations, that
we will see at least as many Mac sales as
Windows, and possibly more. We will know more
definitively when ChangeReaction 2 is released for Windows.

While I believe you are correct that most users
on this list are Windows users, that has more to
do with the fact that, until now, there have
been very few audio game titles for the Mac of
any description. We are changing this. :)

*snip*
> I was also wondering, will there be more pinball tables in the future?
> *snip*

We don't comment on unannounced releases. Sorry! :)

Hope this clears everything up. Mac is no longer
as much of a minority as it once was. Windows
will have to share the spotlight when it comes to games now. :)

Re: [Audyssey] help with gagging text on vipmud?

2013-01-13 Thread Ryan Strunk
Hi Darren,
Where you save the command depends on where you plan on using it. On
Discworld, for example, I might have two characters. Thus I would have a
bob.set, a jim.set, and a Discworld.set. If I save the commands in Bob or
Jim, they will only be active when Bob or Jim is active. If I save the
command in Discworld, though, it will be active whenever I play Discworld
regardless of who my character is.
On Star Conquest, because you can only have one character, it shouldn't
matter much where you put them. If you decide to start a different
character, though, you might have a different set of triggers.
Long answer to your short question, I'd put them in starconquest.set or
sc.set or whatever the mud file is called if I were you. You can always
choose to do differently, though.
Best,
Ryan

Re: [Audyssey] help with gagging text on vipmud?

2013-01-13 Thread Ryan Strunk
Hi Darren,
No problem at all. It's what we're here for.
So first, grab the text you want to gag.
The ship shudders as its lasers are fired.
Then press control shift t. This will put you in a trigger list and the
start of the wizard. Tab to the add button to create a new trigger.
The first box you come to is the search pattern. This is where you paste the
text you want to gag. If you're working with a mud that places a prompt at
the beginning of the line, you'll want an asterisk before the matching text.
In Discworld, for example, some lines are preceded by a greater than sign,
so it helps to have that asterisk. You'll have to experiment to see what, if
anything, your mud requires.
So our line in the trigger search pattern box could potentially look like:
*The ship shudders as its lasers are fired.
Next, tab to easy script builder and press enter.
This will put you into a list box where you can select an action you want
the trigger to perform. Simply arrow to the command you want, then tab to
add and press enter. For some commands, such as gag, you'll find extra
controls when you tab. These will give you extra parameters for the command
you chose.
Once you click add, you'll be placed in a list box containing the commands
you have chosen thus far. If you tab, you'll be back on the command list. In
this way, you can assign multiple commands to a trigger. If you want to gag
a triggering line and also play a sound, you can do that here.
After assigning all of the desired commands to the trigger, tab to OK and
press enter. This will put you into a box where you can specify a few
additional things about your trigger, but since we're gagging text only, we
don't have to worry about them. Tab to OK and press enter again.
This will place us back into the window with trigger search pattern, and the
easy script button will have vanished. The first control you come to when
you tab will be the class edit field. Here you can type the name of a class
you want the trigger assigned to. Be aware, though, that if you use a class
for this trigger, the class will have to be enabled in order for this
trigger to work. If you leave the class field blank, the trigger will always
work.
The next control is match any case. If you check this, it will match the
trigger pattern even if the capitalization is different. Since you copied
the line directly from the mud, you shouldn't need to match any case.
The next control is color trigger. I have never used this because I have
color disabled, but you can if you like.
Tab again, and you're on one of two crucial fields. This is the box where
you determine which script file your command is placed in. By default, it's
set to unassigned, which would mean your script is not saved. Arrow down to
the file where you want this trigger saved, then tab again.
The next control is update script file. It should be checked by default, but
if it's not, make sure you check it. If you don't, the command won't be
saved.
Finally, tab to OK and press enter. Then tab to done and press enter again.
If you have done all that correctly, your trigger will be saved and active.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Hope this helps,
Ryan

Hi,

Re: [Audyssey] monkeyterm question

2013-01-13 Thread Michael Taboada

Hi,
When you connect, you will hear an ascending tone, much like you described
except opposite. If you get disconnected or fail to connect, you will hear
that descending tone. If you want an alter aeon xml, I'd recommend you take
a look at mathayas alter aeon.xml, as it has a pretty nice soundpack for
alter aeon included. Otherwise, I'd just check the ip and port.

Hth,
-Michael.

Hi, Michael,

Thanks for your assistance.

How can I know if I am connected or not? I think I have created the
alteraeon.xml file. It does not come up in the list but if I press
control+o and I type alteraeon it says "Monkeyterm alteraeon"
If I am connected what is supposed to happen because I just have a blank
screen. A few times I hear a descending tone sounding kind of like a
violin.

Thanks again

Hi,
If you open up monkey term, then close the recent connections list if it
appears with alt f4, press control+n. That will open a new xml. it should
also open the connections dialogue in that xml, where the first field is the
name, like alter aeon or aardwolf or pretty much anything you want the title
of the window to be, next is the host name, then the port. Press enter, and
it should connect. You may need to type sdisconnect if it automatically
connects to alter aeon -- can't remember if it does, but if it does just do
that then press f4 then enter to open and close the connection dialogue.
Make sure you save the xml, which it should prompt you to do when closing an
unsaved new xml, but just to make sure you don't have to recreate it every
time :D.
Hth,
-Michael.

Subject: [Audyssey] monkeyterm question

Hi, all,

Is Monkeyterm just a mud scripting program or is it also a mud client? If
it is also a mud client then how do you use it to connect to a mud world? I
have been studying it and I can only see .xml items. I have installed
monkeyterm and mtscripts, but I can’t find where you can enter the name of a
world or make the connection.

Thanks for help
