2013-07-11 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Hi All.
With last version of Playroom client, I'm able to connect from the LAN I work on. This LAN is firewalled and some doors are closed.
What is strange is that since this last update it works smoothly and I just wonderf if they changed the doors wich throw server and
clients exchange data.

Any idea?

The error message I got is: connection closed before reading first message.

Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] News from Blastbay Studios, and a call for opinions

2013-04-29 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)
1. Would you like the ability to order the game on CD? This would cost
something like 10 dollars extra including worldwide shipping.

GB: not at all. Download only.

2. How much does the size of the game matter when it comes to the
downloadable version? Is something like 300 MB too large?

GB: no, 300 MB is downloadable within minute. Large, to me, it would be
something over 4 GB.

3. In what format would you prefer to have the manual? Narrated inside the
game, available in text format, or both?

GB: in text format, especially in HTML with all the titles, capter, section and
subsections correctly headed.

Bye and have a good job.

Hi Thomas and all.

I'm programming an engine to play the perfect Battle ship. Perfect, it would be better to say the most matematically perfect
possible... It's a fantastic exercise that helps me to be back on the code again.
Well, developing my Battle ship engine what I've discovered is that each cell of the grid, has the same opportunity to contain an
anemy, it doesn't matter if the cell is to the edge or to the center. This might be not so much surprising, what is something a
little bit new to me is that this continue to be true also after you shot here and there to the grid, till you hit your first ship.
Just then, the situation change and each cell assume a different value you can translate in a different percentage to be a good
target instead of an empty one.

[Audyssey] VIPMud: is it possible to...

2013-02-05 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Hi All.

I'm used to play MUD with long and detailed prompts. As a Braille user, I left my Braille display landed over the prompt and
listening to the Jaws speech to read the windows output.
This is espacially good when fighting, cause you have the HP, Mana and other character stats directly under your fingers in real
time.

But, there is a problem: each one or two lines of output, the screen reader reads all the prompt and this prevent to play. Most of
blind I know avoid the problem whiping out the prompt or reducing it at just the Hit Point number.

With GMud and its Jaws Script, I have found a nice solution by the way. Those scripts allow to set what they call Ignore string.
With that feature you might say to Jaws to ignore all the output which contain a certain word or string of characters. So, I could
have a very long prompt and Jaws simply jumped it while reading the MUD Output.

Now I wanted to try VIPmud which seems a very powerful and fleksible Mud Client. It has also the possibility to write scripts in
order to manage and customize your favourite mud and my question is: may I do the some thing I did with GMud?

Is it possible to write a script in VIPMud or to configure it in order to let
Jaws Ignore certain outputs?

Thanks.

Gabriel.

Re: [Audyssey] BGT: any suggestion for a text editor.

2013-01-07 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

GB: Hello Jim and thanks for you comments.

Jim:
I was wondering, Note Pad++ puts temporary line numbers to the left of the text. Did you say that you could search via those line
numbers? I didn't see that.

GB: Yes, when debugger says to you an error occours at a specific line number, you may return to the edit, press the short cut
assigned to the feature Go to line, then entering the line that contains the mistake and press enter: you'll land there.

Jim:

I also didn't see line rap on and off.

GB: it is located within the options dialogue, that must be managed with the
Jaws cursor only.

A couple of years ago, I was translating in to italian a web site who allows people to play chess via e-mail. I did all the
translations with NotePad++ when it was at a early version and, you know what? The autocompletion worked well with Jaws 10. But now
the Devs have changed the color scheme and Jaws don't recognize neather the selected text or autocompletation suggestions. Notepadh
++ should have also the ability to autoindent text as deep as you open or close brakes, which is very important when you write
languages like C or Python.

I can Understand you Jim, when you say to like VB6 and its HIDE. What Jaws
version are you using?
I've tried it with Jaws 10, and VB2005 Express Edition Free too. but we, as a non USA users, are less lucky than you: Jaws looses a
percent of power, when it comes translated into a foreign languages. Jaws with VB6 works, yes, but not so much.

Now I'm folling in love with this BGT that brings to me the objects I always wanted to use more than other like the keyboard and
sound to easily play or create sounds.

I have the clue to try Visual studio with the C plus plus in order to see if its accessibility feature has been improved since last
time I tried VB2008 Express Edition.

Greetings form Italy.

Regarding to notepad, I'm using Notepadd++ in its last release. It provides such a good feature but it has also some problems
running with Jaws. The main of these problems is that Jaws doesn't read the autocomplete feature which will be nice to save lots of
time while typing the recursive words within a script. Another problem is that Notepad++ uses a non standard scheme of colors for
text, background and selected text, so, Jaws doesn't recognize the selected chunk of code and this result in a serious stuck when
you have to work within a script, where to be sharp is something compulsary.

Any idea or suggestion, even to optimize Jaws to work with Notepad++, will be
very appreciated.
Bye 4 now, have a nice day.

Gabriel.

Hi Thomas and thanks for suggestion.
Yes, you maight be right saying that Jaws is the problem... I also like NVDA bu unfortunately it doesn't support my braille display
which is an old one. And, you know, I like to write code using braille instead of synthetizer only.

Re: [Audyssey] BGT: any suggestion for a text editor.

2013-01-04 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Ciao Thomas and thanks for your precious help.
So, let's take a step back. Are we sure to talk about the same notepad?
Mine has a double plus after its name, Notepad ++, plus plus, and I'm running the version number 6.22. Wich is your current version?
What is its home website?
Within the format menu, I don't have a word wrap to uncheck but a series of character encoding like Big indian, UTF8, UTF7, ANSI and
so forth.
Within the view menu I've found A capo automatico, which is the italian for, I hope, word wrap: the feature which bring word in a
new line when the last is too long to be written at the right of a line. In this view menu, I don't have a status bar to mark.

Thanks to be patient.

Re: [Audyssey] BGT: any suggestion for a text editor.

2013-01-04 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Thanks Jim.
To run the code within the editor I've find the EdSharp that uses f5 to write the code in a temporary file and launch it to its
interpreter; it maybe also possible to set up the compiler and have a compiled file just by pressing a key.
Nevertheless, I'm not able to find an editor that provides the autocomplete function read by Jaws and the lines numbers, both in a
single editor, LOL.

NotePad plus plus is the best till now.

Bye Jim, have a lovely night.

[Audyssey] BGT: Synth and notes.

2013-01-03 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Hi All.
I don't have musical knoledge and I'm not familiar with the system on writing notes, octaves and so forth, that the Synth instrument
in BGT uses too.
Where can I find a simple document that can help me to understand the basics of this musical notation? Or, would someone send me a
couple of lines with the explanation, please?

Thank you very much in advance.

[Audyssey] BGT: pakaging file in the executable.

2012-12-20 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Hi Philip and all.

I bought the lite version of BGT and, if I've understood well, the Pack_file
object is not available to this version of BGT.
My question is, how to distribute my executable within their audio files? When I try to execute the EXE file I've compiled in a
different position or machine from their original one, the sounds are not loaded.

Thanks.

[Audyssey] BGT manual.

2012-12-19 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Hi all.
Is it possibile to have the Manual of BGT script, all in a searchable file?
I mean that with structured capters and section, some time is not confortable to search for a certain statement, operator or chunk
of code. I'd like to have it all in a txt or rtf document, as it were a book.

If it doesn't exist in that format, do you maybe know some piece of software
that converts a .CHM file into it?
Thanks.

[Audyssey] [IOS] Celtic Tribes.

2012-11-13 Thread Gabriel Battaglia (Kriyaban)

Hi All.
I've just discovered this fascinating and addictive game for iOS.
Its name is Celtic Tribes and it has only one part which is not accessible, the
map.

Beside the map though, it's playable at 100%. It consists in developing a Celtic village in order to take it to a big and strong
empire.

The game is almost self explained, other info here:

Enjoy.

Unfortunately I don't know yet. We are just in few blinds trying the game and for now we are reincforncing the village defences
cause you, as a beginner, have 15 days bonus where the other agressive players can attach your baby village.

I'm quite sure we can play also with out the map but in order to talk from my
personal experience, I need time.

I'm having some trouble finding the author's e-mail contact cause I would like to ask hime/her to fix the map, if it would be
possible. Does someone help me?
