[Audyssey] mud question about display

2013-07-28 Thread Keith
Hi, I've noticed that many of the muds give you a so called heads up display
(health, magic points, and movement, and possibly ammo counts) on the screen
after every turn is changed so to speak. Cyber assault is a perfect
example of this. you can turn the prompt (as it is called in cyberassault)
off by typing prompt %n and hitting enter.

Alter aeon does not have this prompt, as far as i kno, but many of the other
muds do, including Anodyne (the one I was asking about a month or two ago)
and , Aardwolf.MCL, and4valon.MCL. Wondering if there is a simple way of
finding out how to turn this display off in the games. I'm sure the command
is different in each game, but what commands would you suggest to include in
a help querey in such games.

Thanks
Keith

Re: [Audyssey] mud question about display

2013-07-28 Thread Sarah Haake

Hi Keith,

Alter Aeon does have a prompt too, but when you use MushZ to play it is
turned off by default and you get the infos through sounds from the client.

In many games it helps to type help prompt. In others the prompt is part of
a settings or configuration screen, so try typing help settings or help
configure. That should work most times. In cases where this didn't work I
just asked around in the game.

Best regards
Sarah

don't get me wrong i love star conquest but they've got the trading
element of it far from right i think. for example, they expect you to find
the trading centres all yourself. i don't actually agree with that, a
trader should find the best routes yes but all the trading centres should
be known or how can any given economy be expected to be maintained or even
grow if the supply of goods is based on knowing where the trading centres
are? to me that's somewhat silly.

Re: [Audyssey] Mud Question

2013-03-15 Thread Darren Harris
It is, but it's very structured. By that I mean once you reach a certain
level you can't do the lower level things. So the further you go the less
choices you have. It's not so open-ended. Which is unfortunate really.

Why not just start new worlds in MushClient, which you already have if you

use Mush-Z. Just hit control n from inside the mush client window and you
can put in the address and port under the mud listing. The java/flash

Why not just start new worlds in MushClient, which you already have if
you

use Mush-Z. Just hit control n from inside the mush client window and you
can put in the address and port under the mud listing. The java/flash
client is probably inaccessible anyway, I haven't tried it though.

Subject: [Audyssey] MUD question

Hi, I have been trying to connect and play some of the muds on the mud
connector site and when I click the connect and play link, it takes me
to

a page about something called TMC and needing java enabled and having
adobe flash player installed. I currently do not have flashplayer
installed due to some issues with a website I visit every day that
automatically plays video that cannot be muted or turned off (as in an
onscreen player). So, is there some way I can install Adobe flash
player, yet be able to disable it or turn it off when I need to?

Thanks

well you can probably just set ie in internet options in the
advanced / multimedia tab to not play videos at all.
ofcause flash really does need to be installed if you use places like
nasa since thats all imbedded video links.

youtube, and audioboo to name a few.
there is probably a way to not play flash on sertain videos.
there are options in the flash control panel in the playback option
but I don't use it.

Re: [Audyssey] mud question

2008-06-17 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Nicol,
What he meant was that you need to type special key words and frazes
into the game to play. For example if you want to see what is in the
current room you might type a command like
look
and it will give you something like the following.
You are standing in a large room with giant stone statues along the
walls. Passages lead off to the north and west.
Hth.

You go through all muds with commands such as north, east, kill audyssey,
cast bore at Nickole you get the picture. You know. You play 'em like a
