[Audyssey] light cars
Hi james. I'm booked off sick until 5 may. I'm spending the time with my mom. I don't have the setup file for the old version of lightcars here. When i get home i'll send it to you. Hi all. I was thinking about light cars again. Another way of getting far in the game is if lighttechinteractive could add a pilot to the game. So when the cars are coming real fast your co pilot will either speak the direction he thinks you should head which will not always be correct but most of the times or a bbeeping sound letting you know which direction to turn. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] light cars
corrections: when i saved my game, quit the program, launch it again and load my game i again got holes and item cars. The holes is tricky. If a hole is in the middle track and i'm on the left track, i fall in a hole. And no, i didn't skit to the middle when this happens. I get no more bonus rounds. I'm on level 574 and my score is 3 million six hundred thousand. I noticed the old version doesn't have a score posting feature. - original message - Subject:[Audyssey] light cars From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 16/04/2008 9:57 pm Hi all I found a way to enjoy light cars. I still have the old version of light cars where you can specify the amount of lives in the savegame.dat file. Rob said this cheet have been removed in the newer version. Personally its impossible for me to really enjoy light cars without this cheet. To have 5 lives and quickly loose all of them by crashing the whole time Is not fun. So now I have specified 9 thousand lives. At first I tried 9 billion lives but the game didn't want to load my game so I tried 9 million but still it didn't want to load so I tried 9 thousand and it worked. When I play light cars like this, it gives me the feeling I'm having a bumper car ride at a fun fair. But I'm still disappointed. I only get hazards and item cars as far as level 20. from then onwards no item cars and hazards appears which makes the game pretty borring. All right, I can stay for extremely long in the game if I have 9 thousand lives but to crash all the time and avoid cars without any item cars or hazards gets pretty borring. And there is also a bug with the bonus round. When I shoot a bird when its in the dead centre, I miss it. I manage to shoot when it's a bit off to the right and the manual said the bird must be in the dead centre for you to shoot it. I can't understand why the gaming community needs games without an end; with unlimited levels. For me a game with an end is nice. If I know I can beat a game it gives me satisfaction. These games such as light cars which have no ending, it feels like a supernatural thing I can't beat. Its like the game has a supernatural power in it. But if there is anyone like me who don't enjoy light cars with only 5 lives, feel free to ask me for the previous version. I'll gladly give it as well as explain how to specify the number of lives. Once I'm an expert at avoiding cars I'll move on to the newer version where the cheet won't work. But a cloud with a silver lining though. The cars will change speed twice and from then onwards it stays the same. With this cheet on, I noticed that the fastest a car will come at you is one second per car. I think my score is above 119000 at this stage. Too bad I can't post my score. Or to tell the truth I haven't tried to post my score but I doubt if I can post my score with the old version. Obviously rob will prevent people from posting scores with the old version if they used the lives cheet. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] light cars suggestion
Hello Nicol and all, Giving a suggestion won't hurt anyone, as suggestions are always good. Here, i have to mention that i'm not the only one person who makes lighttech's games, i'm just one of them. And, now back to light cars. The main concept of the game is to avoid as many cars as you can. If you can't, that doesn't mean anything, except that you're not that good playing that game. But, also i'm not that good in technoshock, so its ok. If you have hand-ear coordination problems, e.g. you're not that quick, it is also okay. We have to accept that this game is not for you, and it won't hurt me, nor the other developers, as everyone has his/her own opinions. While the fourth track idea sounds really great, it'd be a bit interesting to add, not because its difficult, but because the game's goal is totally different. This is like adding a telepathy option in shades of doom, for those who hate killing monsters. So, they just can hypnotise the monsters, and just get the items from them. So, as you see it totally changes the gameplay. Of course, you can do that, and play normaly, but it'd be never the same. That's why, while i hate refusing ideas and suggestions, all i can say is try to do it as the best as you can, and if you absolutely can't do it, then you have to uninstall the game. You know, every game can't be good for everyone, someone will always dislike something in it. As i said, i'm really sorry to say that, as now i made you stop playing with lc, but new games will follow, and who knows, in one maybe you'll be able to get a way beter score than the best audiogamer in the world, who has to battle for a few thousand points, like now you do with lc. Hello Nicol and all, I like to explain why i did something before doing something, so in that way i can't ignore other's opinions. About telepathy, no its not the same. Telepathy means you have an ability to use your mind in a non-usual way. I think i could fill a book with telepathy examples and explanations, but basically what you can do with it... I guess examples can serve you better. You can use your brain to: tell someone something, show your emotions, read other's mind (read is just a virtual thing, as you usually hear their mind or you just know it.), move objects, float objects, and much more. Teleporting, is indeed another thing. By teleporting, you can disappear and appear somewhere else, teleporting an object means moving it from another location to you. While basically this is accepted as non-existent, there are a couple of books which can proof that it exists in eastern cultures, etc. I think, we're sailing to another non-audiogame related topic, so better if we leave it. Just a final note, google is always your friend. Re: [Audyssey] light cars suggestion
usually, telepathy means communicating by using your mind. But I think in this case Robjoy was talking about controling the monsters with your amazing mental powers, not just communicating with them. so I'm afraid telepathy isn't the same as using a teleporter. Telepathy, as Dark said, actually means ann ability to communicate with a person or creature mind to mind. Not just to read their mind but to speak to them. Such people, called Telepaths, can sometimes communicate with people over great distances. It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you with no place to go. J.D. [Audyssey] light cars suggestion
HI rob and folks Here's a suggestion for light cars. Please please allow me to give you my honest opinion. Personally I don't experience the game as addictive, its very frustrating to crash all the way and then having to start the game all over after only a few minutes of game play. But please don't feel hurt dear rob, you are doing a great job with your games. Here's a suggestion to make light cars more addictive. I will write the suggestion in the same way that rob would put It up in the read me file if he decides to implement my suggestion. So don't get confused, I'm not quoting from the lightcars manual, I'm just making a suggestion in the form of a manual style of writing. Or actually aread me style of writing, lol. Beginning of fictitious manual excerpt We have now added a fourth track to light cars. While your car is racing on this track, no car can crash you. However, this track is very wobbly, which will cause your car to skit off a lot of times regardless of which type of car you are using unlike the other tracks where your car will only skit off if it's an unstable kind of car such as the toy models, so if you are one of those people who's hand ear coordination is not that fast, try racing on this track and once your car skits off to another track then go back to this track as fast as you can. What makes this even more challenging, no item cars will pass by on this fourth track, only on the 3 other tracks so you have to go over to one of the other tracks to pick up an item car and then go back to this fourth track before a car can crash you ! Note: this is not a training mode, its simply a fourth track for those of you who battle to avoid cars on the 3 tracks; this means that this fourth track will be available to you as long as you can succeed in the game, until all your lives is over. The amount of levels in light cars is still unlimited, so this fourth track will never become unavailable after a certain level has passed, so that's what we mean by sayhing its not a training mode. End of excerpt from the fictitious lightcars manual Rob, please please please ask me should my suggestion be unclear to you in any wayh, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm one of the guys that really would like to have such a fourth track. Long ago I made the suggestion of ending the game at say level 100, but I agree with robjoy that this will not be practical for score posting purposes and it will also take away a lot of the challenge in the game. I now understand that by keeping the number of levels unlimited, the challenge will remain. So I really think this is a great suggestion. I would like light cars to keep me entertained for hours. Currently it only keeps me entertained for a few minutes after which I constantly crash and quickly loose all my lives and then having to start all over. From levels 1 to 20 I can still manage but from levels 21 onwards I really battle, then I loose all my lives quickly and I have to start the game all over. If you could have a fourth track where no car will crash you but with a lot of skit offs, , it will make the game more addictive. Use a randomizer so that skits offs will occur on the fourth track randomly, don't make the fourth track skitting of your car constantly. Say for instance you are racing on the fourth track and after a short distance your car skits off. Make it random so that you will be able to race on the fourth track for a short distance without been skit and then suddenly or randomly you are skit off. Then when you go back to the fourth track again, you again race on for a little while before another skit occurs. so I don't want the skitting on the fourth track to happen constantly, you should be able to race each time for a little distance and then randomly skit off. Lets create this scenario: You are currently on level 30 which is quite fast, ok? Now you are racing on the fourth track on which no cars can crash you, now your car quickly skits off to one of the 3 regular tracks. Now you realized: oops I have to go back to the fourth track before a car crashes me. The following then happened to you: you are skit off while on the fourth track but before you could go back, a car crashes you. In other words: the moment you were skit off to say the right side track, a car was passing by on it. Do you see what I mean? the game is still challenging but adding a fourth track with no coming cars but with a lot of skit offs makes it really adictive. Keep the rest of the game as it is, the levels going faster and you can keep the levels unlimited, but just add that fourth track, with no cars but with skit offs, it will really make it addictive! Ps: the fourth track can be to the left of the left side track. In other words, if you are on the fourth track and you press your right arrow you are then on the left side track, etc. kkIf you race on the fourth track,

I'm using my cellular network as internet service provider and they don't charge me on how long I stay on the net. They charge me on what data I download. That applies for web pages I open or files I download so if I can paste a link into the address bar that will take me directly to the file download dialogue I will not have to pay for the data when the webpage opens but only for the actual file I download. Re: [Audyssey] light cars
Hi. an option to pause the game or go in to a kind of pit to use an engine repari sounds good to me. I'm afraid I've never gone past level 21 so can't comment on the speed of the cars. All in all I enjoy the game lots though. Maria - Original Message - From: Nicol Oosthuizen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Tuesday, August 29, 2006 3:57 PM Subject: [Audyssey] light cars NB: This email and its contents are subject to our email legal notice which can be viewed at http://www.sars.gov.za/Email_Disclaimer.pdf Hi all I would just like to get your opinion on light cars. I think it's a real pity that Lighttechinteractive don't want to bring out a light cars which have a winning point. I wrote them a real kind mail; giving them all the credit and honour they deserve for making free games. I assured them that there is features in light cars that really gives me heavenly excitement, but that it is a pitty that the game goes already on level 21 extremely fast. If only they can bring out a light cars that either have a winning destination or they can keep the levels unlimited but they should keep the pace of the cars at least for the first 100 levels medium. Because from level I think level 9 onwards the cars is coming a bit faster than on levels 1 to 8. That speed I can still handle, but the speed the cars is coming from level 21 onwards is really too fast for me. If Lighttechinteractive can either make the game so that I can finish it, so that it have a winning destination or they can keep the levels unlimited but then they should at least kept the speed of cars from level 1 to 100 medium and then from level 100 upwards they can make the cars go faster. I would like your opinion on light cars. The stats I read that was posted to the list were only played in tetras mode. I only play it in arcade mode. I really like to pick up the item cars and I enjoy the skit offs and the holes in the road. But I can't actually enjoy the game if I only have 20 levels of fun. If the cars are coming at the tremendous speed from levels 21 onwards, it doesn't give me enough time to use an engine repair. If they only can enable me to pause the game and use an engine repair before I continue avoiding cars, because its really impossible to use an engine repair if the cars is coming at such a tremendous speed. If you guys feel ok with light cars and you don't think they should make the game more lenient for more levels, in other words keep the cars' speed medium until at least level 100, then I'll abide, but I just think that if you feel the same way as I do, more than one person can approach Lighttechinteractive to modify light cars. If there's a popular demand to modify light cars they will certainly do it. But they definitely will not do it only for one person. They replied on my mail advising me that light cars is a non-ending game and that each person should play it until he can't manage the cars anymore. They said they're not going to change the game, they are willing to fix one bug in the game: When the sound plays that indicate the start of the next level, they will make the sound a bit softer so that I can hear the cars coming, also when I use my lazar cannon. They released a new version of the horse racing game with bug fixes and new features, which I still have to download. I would appreciate your opinion on light cars, if you agree with me. If you disagree, I won't mind. Take care ___ Gamers mailing list ..
