That's odd Darren. Once I completed storm tribe successfully an encounter showed up fairly quickly asking me to make a tribe, but I'm not absolutely sure on what triggers that encounter. Of course, you have to actually complete storm tribe successfully (something I didn't do the first time). Perhaps checking the King of dragon Pass Wiki would be helpful if your really stuck. I never was able to make a tribe because something always went wrong in the gift giving part, so it would just turn down prospect after prospect no matter what I did. Hi Ken. You need to get the gift giving amount exactly right, since you don't want to look like either a fool or a miser. If I remember rightly 10 cows is a fair gift and 20 is a generous one, (ie one for a clan who are really! pissed off at you), but check the manual section on relations for the exact numbers. I do agree though, some exact recommendations of amounts for gifting, trade and sacrifice would be helpful to have in the game. Beware the grue! Hi Decota. the manual is in a weerd place, it's in the law section with all the myths, glossery etc, just skip through and you should find the button to read it, I recommend reading and referring to it a lot. There's no other wayof saying it, hero quests are hard and take lots of preparation. Firstly you need to make sure you've got a worshipper of the right God on the ring, and one with good stats. Then you need to have a couple of magic points in quests just to make sure. Asking aide from anothe another tribe can help too. Finally you really! need to make sure you have read the tail of the hero quest quest you want to do and are certain of what actions to take, since it's possible to completely mess up hero quests if you choose the wrong choice. While I completed the short game and have thus done a few quests, (particularly the making of the storm tribe), they're certainlly not easy to do and even with all the best preparations your chances of success aren't ever %100. Hi dark, Thanks. The issue I now have lol is with questing. I try and do a specific quest when all the details in law are shown to me and sometimes the quest goes completely wrong and things happen that shouldn't happen at all. I'm guessing that this is some form of game macanic which comes into play when there is something that doesn't seem to have been met for some reason but as of yet I cannot work out what this is. do you have any ideas on this? While the manual says most clans will tolerate a raide or two for a bit of sport, it's usually a good idea to not raide your allies, and since you want as many allies as possible a couple of enemies are always good to keep your swords sharp :D. Regarding seasonal calendar, well the manual is about right. I tend to Do trading and exploring in sea season, rading in fire season, more trading or relations in earth season and then use dark season for building and sacrificing, though it isn't a problem if you have to use the season wheel a time or two to skip turns, since things will come up anyway. The best advice I can personally give however is not to ignore blessings. Temples to Venga the wanderer, Heumact or orlanth himself and to the earth mother goddess (who's name I can't recall the exact spelling of), are almost requirements, since you need a prosperous herd for giving gifts and the like, and tough enough strength to defend it, and a temple to the god of trade can be handy too. Generally if you've sorted out your defenses and your herd everything else will sort itself out too, but the early game can be brutal if you don't get in the gods good books as soon as possible. Thus my priorities are personally temples, fortifications, alliances and trade in that order. I tend to use cattle. The problem there is after a while you don't always have enough cattle to keep up your stock. Not even trading can always help there. raiding is ok but sometimes if you send out too few you get swatted and if you send out too many you get counterraided at the same time you do your raid so that almost nullifies any advantage raiding in the first place. So really here am asking for balancing help and what people tend to find are good stratagies for balancing. I try not to raid in seed or earth seasons. I try trading and relation building in fire seasons. Sacrificing in storm seasons. Dark season sometimes I try fourtifying etc. Any assistants
