g_b To sam, Exploit Culture, be happy.

2005-10-30 Thread Aditya Bondyopadhyay

Dear Sam,

Exploit the indian cultural reality to deal with your situation. You say
your parens are old. That means that they are set in their ways and they do
not really deserve at their age to have to deal with your sexuality and such
things which are culturally alien to them. You do not have to tell them
anything. Just live with your friend and introduce him as the bestest of
friends to your parents. What you do in the privacy of your bedroom, they
need not know. You do not have to wave the gay flag. Just insist on
continuing with your friendship with your friend [this they can digest, its
got nothing to do with sex you see, and male to male friendship is the most
natural thing in Indian culture], and be steadfast in your refusal to marry
[if there is pressure on you to marry, that is. It will pain and hurt your
parents, they may even throw tantrums and create scenes, you be firm, and
ultimately they will still be OK with it. Its less painful than having to
deal with your sexuality]. Ultimately culture and its operation can work
both ways and we all can use it to our advantage if we do so wisely. There
are no TOTAL happy turns, bust one can create best case scenarios. Wish you
the best

:-))

hi aditya,

so nice to know about u partners. just to share with,
i am in an almost similar situation as far as my
choice of partner is concerned. but a major part need
to be resolved in our case. our parents' concern. I
dont know when we would really disclose. It is not a
matter of throwing it on their face one day and
quitting from home. but I am worried about, to what
extent I might have hurted them when I do that. If my
relatives come to know, i am sure they would subject
my parents to big insult. my parents are too old,
orthodox and i am the only son. worst case, what if
they commit.Im clear about all else in my life
except for this imbroglio. I wish, dream one day to
lead life like u two guys. time has to tell.

RE: g_b How ironic

2005-10-30 Thread Aditya Bondyopadhyay

Dear Play safe, let's get over the drama of the moment and play safe, I mean
think rationally. He has popped the word. This can only mean one of 2
things, either he's sincere, or he is not. Both ways the best thing is that
your being in Germany gives you all the time to find out. Get a mobile and
text him twice a day about romantic things. If he gets sick of it after some
time, you know he was playing around, and you have the time and space of
your choosing to dump him. If he sends back 3 replies in response to your 2,
then he is a propah bet. Keep up with internet and chats. Call up. Keep the
romance or the pretence of it going to see how serious he is. Send photos of
your outings with other guys in Germany and see how he reacts. If the fact
that he is not getting a bonk propels him the next female, you have done
wisely in being away. Let him know that you find him unworthy and dump him
before he dumps you. Get out smelling like the victor and find the next
right guy to fall for. Else let the distances increase the desire and when
you meet, bond and bonk, submissively or otherwise. The point is use the
circumstances at hand to your advantage, and yes, get out of the drama of
the moment. Its not ironic, its life.

Best,

Aditya Bondyopadhyay

Hi guys...

I was madly in love with my best friend. 2 years back , the day when I
realised I was in love with him coincided with the day when he told me he
loved this female and he proposed her and now they are going around
toghether... the follwing was horrible for me fighting my depressionFor
me he was the most good looking man and someone whose presence was just good

enough for the adrelinine to flow through my veins i would be squirming
in his presence and a natural feeling of submission even though i have
always been a top..I bolding confessed to him whatever i felt and he
accepted me the way i am however he stricly stuck to being straight as he
did not like the big picture of gays..Soon things began to change and also
the priorities. At the time when I was struggling to get a grip over my life

our friendship eventhough strong had a void between us.After a year when I
realised that so long as he stays in my life I will not be able to look upto

anyother person as he was always my first priority I decided to move out of
the country . I applied to a university and was selected for the masters
programme. 3 months ago I was busy putting things into place to go abroad
when he told me that he broke up with his girlfriend as their relationship
was going through a hard phase. He used to call me more often now and
usually around 2 in the night when he could not sleep and chat for more than

an hour. I was more than happy to be there for him. I tried my best to bring

them together but things did not work. The day finally arrived when I was at

the airport and had to say au revoir to all. As i sat in the plane I called
him for the last time totally choked. I told him I loved him andwill miss
him a lot. And for the first time he said those words that I craved to hear
from him all my life. Those three words that mean so much. I was half
determined to jump of the plane and run to him in his arms.

Life can be so unfair sometimes. all the while when I was in Mumbai I craved

to hear those words and when I hear them I cannot experience the physical
warmth of the person that I loved so much.

Here I am now in Germany trying to cope with my heart left behind in Mumbai.

I know those words did not mean that He loved me the way I wanted him to but

nevertheless I am happy to constantly hear those words ringing in my ears...

How Ironic!!!

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked theDirector what the criterion was which defined whether ornot a patient should be institutionalized."Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient andask him or her to empty the bathtub.""Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal personwould use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.""Actually," said the Director, "A normal person would justpull the plug.""So tell me, do you want a room an East view or a Westview?"

g_b PlanetOut.com: 'Star Trek' actor reveals he is gay

2005-10-30 Thread nitin.karani

Christopher Curtis,
PlanetOut NetworkFriday, October 28, 2005 / 09:59 AM
http://planetout.com/news/article.html?date=2005/10/28/1navpath=/news/comingout/

George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu in "Star Trek," has revealed he is gay in
Frontiers magazine, which covers the LGBT community of Los Angeles.
Takei, 68, told the Associated Press that his current stage role as the "very
contained but turbulently frustrated" psychologist Martin Dysart in "Equus" was
part of what motivated him to disclose his sexuality. The play opened Wednesday
in Los Angeles.
The other aspect Takei considered was the current political climate.
"The world has changed from when I was a young teen feeling ashamed for being
gay," he said. "The issue of gay marriage is now a political issue. That would
have been unthinkable when I was young."
The actor said he has been in a relationship with his partner, Brad Altman,
for 18 years.
Takei likened prejudice against the LGBT community to racial segregation,
saying he grew up feeling ashamed of both his ethnicity and sexuality.
When Takei was 4 years old, he, along with thousands of other
Japanese-Americans, was moved into internment camps while the United States
battled Japan in World War II.
"It's against basic decency and what American values stand for," he said.
In 1966, Takei joined the "Star Trek" cast as the starship's helmsman, Hikaru
Sulu, a character he played for three seasons on TV and in six films. In 1986,
he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Star Trek fans, such as Martha Fischer, have posted their feelings on the
Internet.
"I have to admit that when I read this story I actually experienced a sharp
intake of breath, accompanied by a hand raised to my mouth. Yes, it was a
horrifyingly stereotypical female reaction of shock," she wrote on
cinematical.com. "George Takei? Gay? Holy crap!"
"Mr. Sulu is, along with his shipmates, really sort of an icon; like it or
not, in our weird culture of fandom, what Takei does has a huge impact on 'Star
Trek' lovers around the world," she added.
"It took a lot of balls to do what Takei did," Fischer concluded. "More power
to him, and hearty congrats to the man. Warp speed and all that."

g_b Gay.com UK: Gay wedding vows released

2005-10-30 Thread nitin.karani

Gay wedding vows releasedGay.com UKFriday 28 October, 2005 15:01
http://uk.gay.com/headlines/9202
An example of the words that could form the core of the civil partnership
ceremonies has been released by the government. The vows and speeches
follow the same path as those for heterosexual civil marriage and have been
drawn up by the Association of Registration and Celebratory Services
(ARCS).The vows will see the couples “promise to cherish and tenderly
care for you, to honour and encourage you”.“I will respect you as an
individual and be true to you through good times and bad. To these things I give
my word,” same-sex couples will also be able to say.The ceremony also
includes the sharing of rings, the singing of the register and the presentation
of the formal certificate of registration. The registrar will also tell
couples “not to fear their love”.“Have an open heart and a sincere mind.
Be concerned with each other's happiness. Be constant and consistent in your
love,” the officer will also say. “From this will come security and
strength.”The example vows were released by the Government’s Women and
Equality unit as part of its ongoing attempt to inform lesbian and gay couples
about the incoming laws.Couples will be able to apply for a civil
partnership from the 5th December, with the first ceremonies in the mainland UK
taking place on the 21st.Ceremonies in Northern Ireland will take place
a day earlier.

g_b Laser hair removal

2005-10-30 Thread jimmy khan

Laser hair removal

What Is It?

Some consumers have experienced permanent hair reduction, but there is limited data on how long hair reduction usually lasts, how much hair reduction is typical, and how often permanent hair reduction occurs.

How It’s Works?

Light at a specified wavelength is delivered from a hand piece into the skin, where it targets dark material (usually the pigment in hair).
This is intended to cause thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues.

Advantages

Some consumers have experienced long-lasting hair removal or permanent hair reduction.
Considered safe if performed properly.
Useful for large areas such as backs or legs.
Re growth can come back lighter in color or finer in texture.
Light-skinned consumers with dark hair have the best results.

Disadvantages

Long-term data on safety and effectiveness have not been accurately established.
Response rates have not been established.
Re growth rates have not been accurately established and cannot be predicted due to numerous variables.
Generally not as effective on un pigmented (gray) hairs and red or blonde hair.
Must be used very cautiously (if at all) on darker skin tones or on consumers who tan themselves.
Improper treatment can cause burns, lesions, skin discoloration lasting several months, or patchy/patterned re growth.
Recent data suggest other skin structures are often affected by laser irradiation, and long-term effects of this constitute an unknown risk.
Requires eye protection.
Can be expensive.
Some find treatment painful.
Some consumers, even ideal candidates, do not respond to treatment.

Quack claims

"Painless" or "virtually painless"
While many clients tolerate laser without requiring pain relief, it's over promise that treatment will be painless for all consumers.
"Permanent hair removal" or "100% permanent" or "permanent"
Some consumers experience permanent reduction of treated hair over the course of treatment, but published studies have observed that many consumers are not good candidates, and even ideal candidates with light skin and dark hair do not always respond to treatment. See the page on permanent hair reduction below.
"Guaranteed 0% re growth"
There is no published clinical data to substantiate this sort of over promise.
"Laser electrolysis" or "lasertrolysis"
These quack marketing terms are used to blur important distinctions between laser and electrolysis effectiveness. Laser has several advantages over electrolysis, and vice versa. Terms like these only confuse consumers.
"Light years ahead of electrolysis"
This quack marketing term suggests that laser is better than electrolysis for consumers, but this is not always the case.

g_b Bollywood Actresses....... Nimmi Bina Roy

2005-10-30 Thread naughty confessions

Nimmi(1949) and Bina Roy(1950) both made entry into films about same time.Nimmi mostly played supporting roles in earleir movies, but Bina got some leading roles,But their success was same.Even after successful films they were not in the league of Top Actresses...may be coz of their own mistakeshere are their biographies...

Nimmi

Barsaat mein humse mile tum

Nimmicame to Mumbai to meet her uncle Mehbbob Khan and on the shoot of his film Andaz Raj Kapoor noticed her and offered her,his next film Barsaat(1949).She was fortunate and got her first break in RK Banner.Nargis was the leading lady and Nimmi played supporting role in the film oppocite Premnath.Mehboob Khan signed her for Aan (1952) oppocite Daleep Kumar.Even in this film sheplayed secondlead and Nadira played main lead. She again played second lead in Nargis,Dalip K starring Deedar. She was typecast in same role of village belle who is alwaysused for lustful desires. She got similer role in Madhubala,Dalip K starring Amar.Butshe got to play main leads oppocite Daleep Kumar in Udan Khatola and Daag.InBasantBahar and Bhai Bhai shewas gain leading lady.

Meri Kahani bhoolne wale tera jahan aabaad rahe
But in late 50s with entry of new actresses her career faced declain. She was again returned to supporting roles. She herself made some mistakes in the selection of films.Soon she cut down work. She started looking after her family.Today she is living in seafront home in Worli with writer husband Ali Raza.

May be you dont know-She was offered Sadhna by B.R Chopra but she refused the film becouse she was not willing to play prostitute later Vyajayntimala did the film and she lost the Filmfare Best Actress award. But After some years she played similer role in Mere Mehboob.K Asif was going to make Laila Majnu with her and she was signed with Gurudutt. But after his death film got film stopped.Later Sanjeev Kumar was signed for film, but at that time K Asif passed away. Finally film released after long gap in 1980 and flopped badly.J P Dutta's father signed her for Umrao Jaan, but this film too could not start. After two decades Rekha played same role in Mujjaffer Ali's Umrao Jaan and now Aishwarya will play same role in JP Dutta's
 Film.

Her Performances-Barsaat (with Raj Kapoor,Nargis,Premnath),Deedar(with Dalip K,Nargis),Daag,Udan Khatola(with Dalip K),Sazaa(with Dev Anand),Aan(with Dalip K,Nadira)Amar (withDalip K, Madhubala),Bhai Bhai (with Kishore K),Basant Bahar(with Bharat Bhushan)Aakashdeep(with Dharamendra,Nanda),Mere Mehboob (withAshok Kumar,Rajendra K,Sadhana)etc

Beena Roy
Ek to surat pyari upsar se yeh naaz

Bina Roy captured the imagination of millions when she first appeared on the screen in 1950. Kishore Sahu featured her in Kali ghata, along with two other heroines, Asha Mathur and Indira Panchal, but she was main attraction. With the release of this movie, Bina Rai was acclaimed as a beauty par excellence. After this film she got Film called Aurat oppocite Premnath(both got married later). When K A Abbas’s Mughle Aajam got delayed,a little known director Nandalal started working on Film Anarkali based on same storyline. He signed Bina in the role of Anarkali and Pradeep Kumar in the role Saleem,Mughle Aajam released in 1960 and Anarkali released in 1953.Anarkali was a hit(not as successful as Mughle Aajam). But Beena was still not as successful as Nargis,Meena or Madhubala. But she was always compared with Super Star Madhubala in looks,in acting,in films and even in personal life. There were some reasons behind it.Premnath proposed
Madhubala for marriage, when her relation become to an end with Daleep Kumar, she accepted but Soon Premnath went to Bina Rai.Her looks were little similer to Madhubala. Both played role of Anarkali etc.But she was far away from that kinda success.

Jo waada kiya woh nibhana padega
She got chance to work with big names, but those films were flop even B grade films with Premnath were not doing well. She was bigger name then Premnath but she kept her promice and both got married.Later she did films like Ghoonghat,Tajmahal(in which played Mumtaz) and Dadi Maa.These all films did well. But she stopped acting and started looking after her family. In 1993Premnath died and now she is normal life.

May be you don’t know-She was offered Chandramukhi’s role of Devdas, but she refused to play the role of harlot. She lost Nagin too. Both films went too Vyjayntimala. She had a son Premkishan(who later did some films like Dulhan wohi jo piya mann bhaye). Her granddaughter Akasnsha too joined films 2-3 years back
She got Filmfare Best Actress Award for Ghoonghat for which she was not deseving at all,it was Madhubala who was everyone's choice for this Award.

Her Performances-Kali Ghata(with Kishore Sahu),Anarkali,Tajmahal,Hill Staotion(with Pradeep Kumar),Meenar(with Bharat Bhushan),Aurat,Samunder(with Premnath),Ghonghat(with Rajendra Kumar,Rajkumar,Asha Parekh)Dadi Maa(with Ashok Kumar,Tanuja) etc
