RE: New radio PIDs, more than 8 characters - "solved"
Vangelis , Unlocker only reported "Unlock and Delete Failed" for each of the three files. But it didn't fail because the files were deleted. I have no other diagnostic data. One again many thanks. You're welcome! I'm glad you're back up and running :-) For the sake of completeness/closure, were you even able to determine (via Unlocker) the process(es) locking those .exe files even after a system reboot? Doesn't make much sense to me... Perhaps an overzealous antimalware suite? Using Unlocker is just a workaround; if you do not discover the root cause of your issue and rectify it, then there's a chance you'll revisit the issue in the next GiP update (?) - are you able now to, e.g., send ffmpeg.exe (temporarily) to the Recycle Bin? Just my 2p, I am not jinxing your future GiP upgrades! Back up your XP compatible ffmpeg.exe 2. Upgrade your GiP from 3.00 to 3.02; it's highly possible a bug in 3.00 is the cause of your issue... 3. Once the installer has finished (hopefully without issues), rename/delete the ffmpeg.exe (v3.2.4) put in place by the installer and then restore in that same folder your previous ffmpeg.exe (v3.0 ?). Re: Top of the Lake China Girl episode 5 download problems
Hi Dave I originally downloaded all episodes of S02 as soon as they were made available (I couldn't wait until all episodes were broadcast!) and I've just checked and redownloaded episode 5 without any problems using the PID/URL, which is the only route open to you until the programme is aired. Downloading is not possible using the programme name until then. I'm on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, originally downloaded the episode using v3.0.1 and redownloaded just now using v3.0.2 (following the upgrade at the weekend). As for your version of ffmpeg, that won't affect the download itself. I don't know just how slow your connection is but I do recall reading a thread on the support forum saying that if you have a very slow connection then get_iplayer may not work properly. It could be worth trying the download outside peak times when the load on the internet isn't as great. I can't think of any other suggestions right now, sorry. Somewhat older Support Forum post: https://squarepenguin.co.uk/forums/thread-1442-post-6434.html#pid6434 Involves downloading --tvmode=hlshd and a hvf* mode with 320kbps audio, which now, with GiP 3.02, could be any; to save on bandwidth, choose the smallest available hvf mode for your pid... To make it more transparent to you, "25fps.mp4" in the post means "720p25fps96k.mp4" and "50fps-audio.mp4" can just mean now, e.g., "320k.mp4" (does not have to be 50fps anymore... ). "out.mp4" would then be "720p25fps320k.mp4" There are other means to just download the 320kbps audio stream (without an accompanying video stream) and then multiplex it with hlshd, but this involves tools other than GiP and is left for the more adventurous... Sounds interesting. How would I do that? Yes the file size increase for 50fps is massive. The BBC always said that the 960x540 HVF stream was just as good quality-wise as the current 1280x720P HLS stream because of the doubled frame rate. ___ get_iplayer mailing list get_iplayer@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer
