Sorry, but I don't understand your question. What's translated and
what's not? And did you already check in the it.po files that the
strings have been translated at all?

I did a little bit of photo retouching as a test to see if I could some of
the more extreme photoshop work you see out there - I slimmed down this
young lady, amongst other things. This is not entirely safe for work:

If you're after standard retouching things, I have myriad examples, but
most of what I do with the Gimp is pretty boring. The only other
interesting thing I can recall is the following:

I just noted this strange behaviour: when I see the the
Image menu->View->Display filters->Color Deficient Vision options
(Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia) with the Italian locale, _all_ but
these three options are translated. Is it my svn copy fault or does it have this
behaviour in other languages too?

TIA

I will have to ask you to look at the work of some people from here.

They've been making an electronic fanzine over hte last year, and
there is some quite astonishing stuff inside. Ms to f it 100% GIMP.

Unfortunatelly, all the articles are in Portuguese only.

[Gimp-developer] LGM/2007

2007-02-05 Thread Joao S. O. Bueno Calligaris
LGM 2007 is approaching, and we have to deal which GOIMP people will
be attending.

There will be limited funding to sponsor the air fare costs, comming
from GIMP donations, and possibly a little from LGM funding.

In order to knwo which people can be sponsred, we need first to know
who wants sponsorship (and to a certain degree, how hard one wnats to
go/needs the sponsorship to go/is involved with the project).

People who is attending can add their names at
http://wiki.gimp.org/gimp/TellUsYoureComing .

Anyone who will need the sponsorship or simply wnat to query about the
possibility, should e-mail me as soons apossible, so it can be
deliberated among the GIMP developers.

That is the idea. The fact that this doesn't happen currently is just a
bug. We will try to fix it.

Shouldnt a (possibly slightly less) simple one-liner be possible
piping script-fu to gimp to call the screenshot plugin's APId
function(s)? IMHO, we need to keep in mind that things accessible on
the interface dont neccessarily define the capabilities of the back
end.

Personally I'd rather have the screenshooter be a separate application.
There is a good number of efficient workflows using existing tools
(`sleep 5 && import (-window root) ~/Desktop/foo.png` [1],
`gnome-panel-screenshot --delay 5 (--window)` , ksnaphot (don't know my
way around that one)).

I consider the GIMP's screenshooter served its historical purpose, but
isn't as needed even though some of us have grown familiar with it. You
have to look at it pragmatically. Too few resources, lots of more
important code to maintain.

cheers
