[Gimp-user] Text-on-path not visible in .jpg or .png exports
Hi, Using GIMP 2.8.16 on openSuse Tumbleweed, I try to draw some text-on-path on a photo-image. In itself that is easy and successful, but when I want to export this to .png or .jpg, the photo is exported, but the text is not visible. In the preview of the export it is, but not in the final result. Funny thing - at least for me - is that the text doesn't seem to sit on a layer - if I make both layers (the one with the original text, not yet placed on a path, and the one with the photo-image) invisible, the text-on-path is still visible. Probably I do something wrong, but can anyone point me to what that might be? thanks and regards, Jogchum Reitsma ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

My apologies if I don't understand the real topic of this thread. But I think it's about having the option to not show the image tabs at the top in single window mode. I don't use single-window mode, and one reason why I don't use single window mode is because the tabs are really big and there's no way to hide them so the image can take up more space vertically. Those tabs result in wasted screen real estate. If there were a way to hide the tabs, then to switch images, the user would: 1. right-click to bring up the menu bar (assuming the menu bar is not already shown - I hide the menu bar even in multi-window mode to provide more vertical screen real estate) 2. click on the desired image. Or else use alt-# to switch between image windows. [Gimp-user] Please help, small problem.
I am pretty good with computers, in fact I built one and have used it till this day. That's beside the point, I enjoy having a few hobbies and art is one of them so I found the true potential of Gimp, plus it was free. I've drawn a couple of things but am having difficulties. I want to mirror my image vertically, you know like symmetry so that when I draw it happens on the other side as well. Well, I've seen videos on it but my only problem is that I can't find the option for symmetry because it's not where it should be. I did download the latest version of Gimp and run Windows 10, so I don't know what's happening but I could really use that option. If I'm being stupid, don't be afraid to tell me so, but I would enjoy some advice and help please. ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

But I have to bow to your greater knowledge. All I can say, after a number of years using GIMP under Windows and in single window mode, I've no idea what the default on a new install would be. I can say that now if I add any tabs that are not in my default set, they appear with "icon and text" and it's only those I know I have used before that appear icon only. [Gimp-user] getting x/y coordinates from simple lines
hi, i would like to get coordinates for pictures that look like EKG-Diagrams example: http://www.clker.com/cliparts/U/3/3/c/2/t/ekg-black-hi.png the resolution i need should be enough to recreate the image with mathplotlib and have it look almost identical...for the human eye. a x/y output in a csv format or something like that would be great. do you guys have any idea how to accomplish that? the pictures i read in will be "made by hand", but they will have a pure white / pure black so working with opencv should also be possible but i guess theres a easier solution in gimp, i wont work with that much image material. found this script that is supposed to work with gimp: http://gimp-path-tools.sourceforge.net/tools.shtml#path-csv installed it according to http://gimp-path-tools.sourceforge.net/ (on the right) copying, setting executable... now it should show up in the right click menu when creating a path... but when i create a path in my image and right click on it i dont even see the word "path" in the popup menu...where can i find it? ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

Re: [Gimp-user] getting x/y coordinates from simple lines
When properly installed it will show up there: http://imgur.com/1rsE1tW However, you have to create the path manually first with the path editor, with enough sampling points. The paths Gimp will create from the selection will likely not have enough points, it is however possible with a Bezier curves library to interpolate the exported values. PM me directly if you need more help. Bonus: the CSV for the images, paths created by Gimp: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lfsp57k82oc7ga1/ekg.csv On 16/12/15 10:22, peter wrote: hi, i would like to get coordinates for pictures that look like EKG-Diagrams example: http://www.clker.com/cliparts/U/3/3/c/2/t/ekg-black-hi.png the resolution i need should be enough to recreate the image with mathplotlib and have it look almost identical...for the human eye. a x/y output in a csv format or something like that would be great. do you guys have any idea how to accomplish that? the pictures i read in will be "made by hand", but they will have a pure white / pure black so working with opencv should also be possible but i guess theres a easier solution in gimp, i wont work with that much image material. found this script that is supposed to work with gimp: http://gimp-path-tools.sourceforge.net/tools.shtml#path-csv installed it according to http://gimp-path-tools.sourceforge.net/ (on the right) copying, setting executable... now it should show up in the right click menu when creating a path... but when i create a path in my image and right click on it i dont even see the word "path" in the popup menu...where can i find it? ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
