This thread is taking on an unpleasant colour. I am surprised that the Bharat online site did not truthfully reveal that the dominant religion forced thousands of unfortunate women to unwillingly jump on to their husbands' funeral pyre, or that thousands of unfortunate untouchables could not draw drinking water from the village wells. But for the Portuguese, and later the British, women and the untouchables would still have been subjected to the same treatment. (Of course Hindu reformers, mostly from Bengal, did help too). One can find skeletons in every closet. That does not mean we should be squabbling about bones. On the other hand, one can find good things in every religion. We should appreciate them. It is one thing to say hindus form a majority in Goa, but an entirely to think of them as dominant. A democracy is not the same as tyranny of the majority. Is the President Pandurang on VCO? It looks like he is now very clever,by the content of his post. BC President Pandurang is retired. The new president is Urrak Mama who is a Muslim. He was born in Africa when that poor communist country was run by the Government.

Dear BC, At least two group are following your advice at Pandurangstan.. The priests should also impart the Goan way of life, how this can happen, as Priest itself are Ghatis like how to dress, ok sing mandos, ?? drink caju in sips this is interesting and how to use toilets. Hope where are they? Who will keep them cleanbetter use the water to drink. Shrikant I believe one way to save Goan identity is to convert the ghantis. Our priests in recent times have got into nokres (idle mind..), therefore under the Goa government programme they should be kept busy by converting every ghanti in Goa even those who write books on opium etc. The priests should also impart the Goan way of life like how to dress, sing mandos, drink caju in sips and how to use toilets. The conversion might also be a deterrent for the others to come to Goa who knows? I wonder if President Pandurang from Pandurangstan has implemented this programme. Let's start by converting Bernardo to Hinduism since a) his ancestors were Hindus, and b) the majority of Goans are Hindus which is the primary Goan identity:-)) I wonder if the Chinese in Macau converted Bernardo to whatever the heck their religion is in order to save their identity from Indian ghantis:-))
