PDSE and DFDSS

2012-06-13 Thread Mark Steely
I would like to move a PDSE dataset using DFDSS - I have never been able to do
this.

I am using the following format:

COPY DATASET( -
 INCLUDE( -
 OS130508.SMPE.SMPPTS-
))-
OUTDYNAM((MVASM2)) -
 CANCELERROR  -
 CATALOG  -
 DELETE PURGE -
 ALLDATA(*)   -
 ALLEXCP  -
 PROCESS(SYS1,UNDEF)  -
 TGTALLOC(SRC)

When I try to execute the job - the job just sits there and then I start
receiving PDSE messages that there is a PDSE problem.

IGW031I PDSE ANALYSIS  Start of Report(SMSPDSE1) 658
-data set name-- -vsgt---
OS130508.SMPE.SMPPTS 01-MVASM2-000104
++ Unable to latch DIB_Global_Latch:7F3A7680
   Latch:7F3A7698 Holder(0088:00AF8748)
   Holding Job:SDALMFSM
++ Lock GLOBAL DIRECTORY EXCLUSIVE
   held for at least 47 seconds
   Hl1b:7FF769A0 HOLDER(0088:00AF8748)
   Holding Job:SDALMFSM

   Hl1b:7FF769A0 HOLDER(0088:00AF8748)
   Holding Job:SDALMFSM
PDSE ANALYSIS  End of Report(SMSPDSE1)

At that point I have to cancel the job.

I am z/OS v1r11 any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

That is the job that is trying to move the dataset. The dataset is not

During the serverpac for zos 1.13 I believe there is a step where you

Installing z/OS service in general requires that the target file

Is the command for this

MOUNT FILESYSTEM('ZOS13.OMVS.VAR.ROOT') +
  MOUNTPOINT('/service') +
  TYPE(ZFS) MODE(RDWR)

Yes, assuming that those are the names you are using. Ensure that the
mount point is an empty directory, that there isn't already something
else mounted there and that the file system isn't mounted on another
LPAR.

I believe we had done this originally and an IPL of the driving
system was performed since then.

Unless you set up an automount, you need to manually remount.

SFTP

2012-05-10 Thread Mark Steely
We have a Linux server which grabs files from the mainframe using FTP.

We need to use SFTP to get the files.

I have the IBM ported tools.

Do we need to have the SSHD daemon running to recognize the FTP's or am I going
down the wrong path.

Or could we use SCP? We are z/os V1r11.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any setup information would be helpful.

Thanks

SFTP

2010-11-11 Thread Mark Steely
I would like to be able to specify STDIN on my SFTP batch job. The man pages
has the following information:

-b batchfile Batch mode reads a series of commands from an input batchfile
  instead of stdin. Because it lacks user interaction, use it in
  conjunction with noninteractive authentication. A batchfile of
  '-' can be used to indicate standard input.

Here is what I tried:

//SFTP2EXEC PGM=BPXBATCH,
// PARM=('sh sftp -vvv -b --
// prod...@.corp.com')
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//STDOUT  DD SYSOUT=*
//STDERR  DD SYSOUT=*
//STDIN   DD *
pwd
ls
ascii
lpwd
lcd /tmp
lpwd
!cp //'XX.SSPS.CSSMTP.TEST' test2.txt
put test2.txt
!rm test2.txt
//

Sftp

That was the response in STDOUT.

I would like STDIN to point to a dataset. Any help would be appreciated.

VTS NL Tapes

2010-10-14 Thread Mark Steely
We have several tapes that are not initialized and when the job executes it
abends trying to use these tapes. I thought CA-1 was suppose to automatically
init the tapes but that is not happening. I am trying to init the tapes using
IEHINIT, the problem is these tapes are in a different library and the init job
wants the tapes in its own library. I have all the ca-1 tape processing options
set to yes (label change, density change, TRTCH change). When this was
installed 5+ years somehow the contractor we brought in was able to add a
nonexistence tape to the VOLCAT and we used that tape # as input to the INIT
job. I tried to add another nonexistence tape pointing to the other library but
the job doesn't allow that anymore. We are z/os v1r11.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

CICS Question

If you know the CICS listserv name I can post it there.

I am applying a couple of PTF's to CICS TS 3.1. One of the ptf's need the CMAC
dataset updated. In the update job for DD DFHCMACD do I specify the index name
or the cluster name. The documentations appears to specify the index name but I
would like some confirmation. Here is the JCL:

//CMACUPD  EXEC PGM=IDCAMS
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//AMSDUMP  DD SYSOUT=*
//SYS01DD DISP=SHR,
// DSN=CICSTS31.CICS.SDFHMSGS(DFH58234)

Post 22 is normally used for ssh (and sftp). It would be weird to use it for
ftp. But, whatever. My question is: are you asking how to set up an FTP server
to listen on port 22 instead of 21? (and what about port 20?). Or are you
asking how to use an ftp client to connect to an FTP server which is listening
on port 22?

under SMS control. How would I go about defining a extended format zfs file and
move this information over. I have had trouble defining ZFS files without using
the ISHELL dialogs. The OMVS.ROOT file is larger then 4gb and I really don't
see any definition difference. All these files were created during the SERVPAC

You may have some failed persistent connections.

If you see:
# D LOGGER,C,LSN=log-stream-name shows number of connectors on this system
equal to 0.
# D LOGGER,L,LSN=log-stream-name shows number of connectors to the log stream
greater than 0.

this might be the case.

You can try a SETLOGR FORCE,DISCONNECT,LSN=SYSPLEX.OPERLOG, on systems with
failed persistent connections if this is the case:

Message during logon

2010-03-23 Thread Mark Steely
When I log on to tso I receive the following messages after the ID has
been entered:

 IKJ56700A ENTER USERID -
X123456
 IKJ56712I INVALID KEYWORD, : : 0
 IKJ56703A REENTER THIS OPERAND -

If I just hit the enter key I get the normal TSO logon screen with the
ID entered above displayed.

Any ideas what is causing this ?

I only get this when logging into TSO.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Upper Lower case

2010-03-22 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/os V1R9. I was executing some RACF commands through the use of
TSO EXEC 'mydsn(member))' command. When I did this all lower case parms
were set to upper case and the commands were executed. If I take the
same dsn and execute through batch tso the lower case remains intact. Is
there a way for the TSO EXEC command to maintain the lower case
settings. Any help would be appreciated.

No.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the manuals for the CA stack. But

I'd almost be willing to bet that it has an option so that a TAB
character inserts 1 to 8 blanks so that the last blank is in a column
which evenly divisible by 8.

You might be able to use the expand command either before or after
transferring the file.

What type of file?

Does it help to know that x'05' is an EBCDIC TAB, the equivalent of
ASCII x'09'? This might appear as a delimiter in a .csv exported
spreadsheet.

Otherwise, in what sense and context do you mean is delimited by
x'05'?  We need more information.

I found the routine that is generating the error. It is the routine in
XMITIPCU that attempts to query the current host domain name.

Apparently you do not have your z/OS TCP/IP libraries in either
linklist, lpalist or steplib.

In our LPALIST we have SYS1.TCPIP.SEZALPA
and in our LINKLIST we have TCPIP.SEZALOAD and TCPIP.SEZALNK2

Try adding them to your steplib for the job and see if that helps.

The error is in this statement: str= Socket('Terminate')

which is used to test to see if the socket interface is active.

hope this helps

Run the TESTCU exec and see what it reports for ldap and ip

Thanks for the REXX routine to verify the setup - To make the REXX
routine and the XMITIP work was to add the TCPIP SEZALNK2, SEZATCP, and
SEZALOAD
 libraries as steplibs and add the SYSTCPD dd statement. I think I had
to do that because we have 2 different TCPIP stack executing (IBM CA).
The XMITIP does not abend anymore. Thanks for all your help and

Subject: RE: XMITIP Socket failure (was: Batch E-Mail)

From the ibm pub on rexx sockets:

The EZBRXSOC load module is defined with two load module |aliases:
RXSOCKET and SOCKET. When a program invokes the REXX socket function,
|either the load module or an alias is called. The load module and its
aliases |reside in the TCPIP.SEZALOAD data set. The examples in this
documentation |use the SOCKET alias.

Requirement:
The EZBRXSOC |load module and its aliases must be included in one of the
following items: | |

*   The system LNKLST
* The STEPLIB DD concatenation of the job that is running the
program that |uses REXX sockets

The code is failing on the test for the socket:

str= Socket('Terminate')

It isn't getting far enough to do the actual query.

if that works then it does this chunk of code:

str= Socket('initialize', _anyname_)
Parse Var str sockrc _response_
if sockrc = 0 ,
then do;
  Parse Var str sockrc ,
   subtaskid _socks_ tcp_name
  str= Socket('GetHostId')
  Parse Var str sockrc tcp_hostiddesc
  str= Socket('GetHostname')
  Parse Var str sockrc tcp_hostname desc
  /* strip low value in tcp_hostname   */
  parse var tcp_hostname tcp_hostname 00x .
  str= Socket('GetDomainName')
  Parse Var str sockrc tcp_domaindesc
  str= Socket('Terminate')
 end;

Here is a short exec to verify that you have the sockets and z/OS tcp/ip
installed and configured cleanly:

/* rexx */
res= Socket('Initialize','ANYNAME')
host=  Socket('GetHostId')
name=  Socket('GetHostname')
hostname = word(Socket('GetHostByAddr',word(host,2)),2)
domain_name= word(Socket('GetDomainName'),2)
res= Socket('Terminate')
say hostname
say domain_name

hope this helps

Batch E-Mail

2009-04-15 Thread Mark Steely
I am sending this again because I had trouble getting my mail option
turned back on and I did not see any responses.

We are z/os V1R9. I am having a problem when I send a e-mail with an
attachment through batch. When IBM receives the email the attachment is
showing up in the body of the email and not a separate attachment. We
have a proc which wraps the required stuff around the parms supplied for
an e-mail (from, to, attachment, body, CC, etc). This output is
pickup by SMTP and sent to our email server to be sent. This process
works as design internally and haven't heard any problems on externally

Mark - it sounds like perhaps the mime headers may not be setup properly
to be received by IBM. When I was developing XMITIP I ran into several
issues with file attachments arriving as inline until I discovered
something (long lost in the cobwebs).

A suggestion - get a copy of xmitip (http://www.lbdsoftware.com) and use
it in 'debug' mode (use keyword debug) and it will generate a report of
all the appropriate smtp statements. You can then use that to compare to
what you are generating and update your code if you detect a mismatch.

hope this helps

You are using UDSMTP rather than the z/OS SMTP daemon I gather. (I

Batch E-Mail

2009-04-14 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/os V1R9. I am having a problem when I send a e-mail with an
attachment through batch. When IBM receives the email the attachment is
showing up in the body of the email and not a separate attachment. We
have a proc which wraps the required stuff around the parms supplied for
an e-mail (from, to, attachment, body, CC, etc). This output is
pickup by SMTP and sent to our email server to be sent. This process
works as design internally and haven't heard any problems on externally

PDS/E and LNKLST concat

2008-09-18 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/OS V1R9. I was applying some maintenance to our test system
which was live. The fist set of PTF's applied successfully. During the
apply of the second set of PTF's the job went into a detected wait
state. During the detected wait several messages stating a problem with
PDSE were occurring.

IGW038A Possible PDSE Problem(s) (SMSPDSE1)
Recommend issuing V SMS,PDSE1,ANALYSIS

The command produced the following output:

IGW031I PDSE ANALYSIS  Start of Report(SMSPDSE1) 293
++ Unable to latch ASRBULCH:7F5D2180
   Latch:7F5D2198 Holder(0019:00AFF5E8)
   Holding Started Task:LLA
++ no exceptional data set conditions detected
PDSE ANALYSIS  End of Report(SMSPDSE1)

The ptf's that were being applied were going to update a PDSE dataset in
the LNKLST.

So I cancelled the job - created an alternate RES pack and applied the
maintenance to the alternate RES.

Are the new SMSPDSE and SMSPDSE1 address spaces preventing this type of
update or is there a command to allow this type of update to occur.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's rarely safe to apply maintenance to a live system.

So I cancelled the job - created an alternate RES pack and applied the
maintenance to the alternate RES.

Better (safer) choice (IMO).

Are the new SMSPDSE and SMSPDSE1 address spaces preventing this type of

These address spaces sometimes 'trip' over contention issues, rarely is
there a problem.
But, I think you were fortunate.
It made you convert to, what I think, is a better practice.

ISPF 3.4 (nor IEFBR14) won't work for an SMS controlled data set. I

had to dump the VVDS - find out what catalog the dataset pointed to.
Which was the old master catalog and execute an IDCAMS delete with the

You should be able to catalogue it -- the simplest being through ISPF
3.4.
Then you can do whatever you want with it.

There is, and it does. It starts a TCB for each file in the whole job

Beware though -- If your shop's maximum WAIT time is too low or HSM is

HSM Recalls

2008-07-24 Thread Mark Steely
I have this job that calls in all generations of a dataset. This job
executes once a month and most of the generation have been migrated.
When the job starts executing is sends the request to HSM to start the
recalls. It recalls the migrated datasets one at a time. Is there a way
to make more recalls happen.

This is not a HSM problem the max recalls we have set is 4.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

P.S. We are z/OS V1R7 going to z/OS V1R9 in August.

An abend.  :-)

As already suggested: Look at logrec. Set a slip. You can set it on
any 0C4
then run your test. Look at the dump. If you still can't tell or have
no idea
how to look at a dump or logrec, you can still eliminate or prove it is
your IEFUJV by loading a dummy IEFUJV dynamically (dynamic exit /
PROGxx) or changing your SMFPRMxx to eliminate its use.

IEE806A

2008-04-14 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/OS V1R7 and do not use MSYS.

Every 10 mins this command is executed '$TOJOBQ
1-*,/OUTD=W,/DEST=LOCAL,ALL,D=N5'. This transmits jobs from 1 system to
the other system output queue. JES2 issues a send command for every
output it transmits over: SE '16.23.46 JOB11404 $HASP546 001
(JOB17156 FROM XXX) SYSTEM
OUTPUT RECEIVED AT ',LOGON,USER=(BATCH)

Sometimes we have a large number of output being transmitted. Then we
receive this message: *IEE806A COMMANDS EXCEED LIMIT IN COMMAND CLASS M3

I have looked at the message and I understand why and what it is doing,
my question is there a way to prevent jes2 from issuing the SEND command
for these jobs and prevent this from happening.

We just IPL'd our sand box with z/OS 1.7 and are muddling thru. One
thing I've noticed though, is in SDSF from the:

HQX7720 -  SDSF PRIMARY OPTION MENU  --

At the bottom of the screen, we have:

COMMAND INPUT ===
SCROLL === CSR

instead of at the TOP of that screen, like on our old z/OS 1.4 system.

I've hunted and pecked my way around/thru the help and extended help
index, but still can't figure out what to set and/or reset to move the
CMD prompt to the TOP. I've tried from SDSF and just the *ISPF Primary
Option Menu* menu bar at the top. Nada.

Every once in a while, it goes to the bottom of my screen on my old z/OS
1.4 system, but I'm not sure why. I usually just delete the ISF
members in ISPPROF and it resets. Don't want to do that here.

Any ideas.

THANX,

SYSVIEW 11.5

2007-07-25 Thread Mark Steely
I know this is a long shot, but I need some help and not a lot of time.
We use SYSVIEW to cut CICS records. Sysview 11,5 was installed and we
noticed 3 month later that the reports that we generate to record
transaction count, response time, and number of transactions stopped
working. This is when I found out SYSVIEW went to using Easytrieve for
these reports. I having problems using this approach. I have an open
issue with CA for both product and they are not providing a quick

Has anyone written anything to process these records from SYSVIEW 11.5

OGET

2007-07-11 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/OS V1R7. While performing an OGET the file on the MVS system
is running out of space. The manual says:

If the MVS data set does not exist, OGET allocates a new data set, a

sequential data set of variable record format. However, OGET does not

allocate a new partitioned data set. The record length of the new data

set is either 255 or the size of the longest line in the HFS file,

whichever is larger. Dynamic allocation services determine the block

size and space, based on installation-defined defaults. If the

defaults are not sufficient, you should allocate a new MVS data set

and then specify it on OGET.

A simple method of allocating a sufficient size is to specify a

primary extent size and a secondary extent size equal to the number of

bytes in the file being copied.

Where are the installation defined defaults?

Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Re: VTS Questions

Mark,

Okay, a couple of things to explain what is happening and how to correct
them.

First, the version of the CA-1 supplied CBRUXENT is quite old. The
original version we shipped would allow a foreign tape (not defined to
CA-1) to be entered and accepted into PRIVATE status. Please remember,
this was back before virtual tapes when a robot had 3490/E drives, and
foreign tapes meant other 3490/3480 cartridges from vendors/clients that
you wanted to read as input. We have had a newer version published for
years now that leave foreign tapes in the insert pending status so
that in a shared environment the correct owning system could take
ownership of the cartridges. So, first you need to activate the current
CA-1 supplied version of CBRUXENT.

Second, using CTSSYNC you will need to change the status of the volumes
you want deleted from PRIVATE to SCRATCH and then immediately EJECT
them. If you EJECT a virtual-volume in SCRATCH status it is deleted.
However, once you put the virtual-volume in SCRATCH status it is
possible that the Library-Manager might select it for output processing.
It will not be accepted by CA-1 of course (since it is a foreign tape on
that system); but the eject will then fail and you will have to process
that volume again. So, you can setup CTSSYNC to perform the SCRATCH
followed by an EJECT for each of the volumes you want deleted.

Once the virtual-volumes have been deleted from the system they should
not be on; and the new CBRUXENT has been activated on all systems; then
you can go ahead and re-define the virtual volumes and they will have
ownership taken by the correct system.

Finally, feel free to open an issue with CA-1 support if you have any
questions on using CTSSYNC to update OAM or regarding how to determine
if the correct version of CBRUXENT is active or not.

I display the volumes the half that got processed on the wrong system
has that system category. How can I reprocess those volumes and get the
correct category?

I thought about deleting the volume, but the manual states that the
volumes can only be deleted by a host system command or eject the

VTS Questions

2007-06-25 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/OS V1R7. We have two systems..we are not sysplex. We have CA-1
TMS.

We have 2 VTS the VTS are connected to both systems. When I added
logical volumes to one of the boxes - half of the request got processed
on one system and the other half got processed on the other system. When
I display the volumes the half that got processed on the wrong system
has that system category. How can I reprocess those volumes and get the
correct category?

I thought about deleting the volume, but the manual states that the
volumes can only be deleted by a host system command or eject the
volume. The volume can not be ejected because it is a logical volume.
What command should I use?

How should I prevent future additions of logical volumes so they are
only processed on the correct machine?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thank You

3390-MOD's 9

2007-05-31 Thread Mark Steely
This is my first experience with these volumes and I have a little
problem. There was a requirement to use these mod 9 volumes so our
customers could dump very large files to these packs. These two volumes
are SMS managed. The first test failed with a E37. The JCL contained
space(cyl,(3000,1000)). It allocated only 4000 cylinders on the first
volume, switched to the second volume and allocated another 4000
cylinders and then abended. Is there something in the JCL that needs to
be coded to make the system understand these files are allowed to go
beyond the default size.

We are z/OS v1r7.

Any help would be appreciated.

Date Time in JCL

2007-05-17 Thread Mark Steely
I believe the answer is no and that's what I told the customer, but I
will ask any way. Is there a way to dynamically add the current date and
time to a dataset through JCL ? We are z/OS V1R7.

Couple Datasets

Is there a procedure to move these datasets while the system is active?
Any help would be appreciated. We are z/os V1R7.

SMS problem

2007-05-01 Thread Mark Steely
Thanks for all the info on switching the COUPLE datasets.

I have a problem with SMS and calling in a tape dataset that is received
from an outside vendor. The tape volser does match a in-house volser. I
am doing a gener and have the volser, dsn, expdt=98000, and dataclas
specified. When the job is submitted it allocates the VTS drives and
calls for the in-house tape. When I change the input volume (SYSUT1)
from disp=shr to disp=new it calls for the correct tape device and tape
volume. This seems to only happen when the outside tape matches an
in-house volser. We are z/OS V1R7.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: SMS problem

2007-05-01 Thread Mark Steely
Thanks for the information this worked as designed. Here is the
information I found for this STORCLASS:

Problem
Duplicate Tape Volser Bypass - [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Solution
SMS does not support duplicate tape volsers. In an SMS environment where
an IBM ATL or VTS exists, the mount will always be directed to the IBM
library that contains the duplicate volume regardless of any unit /
device parm specified. This is because SMS detects that they are in an
IBM Library environment early in the allocation process by calling OAM
to determine if the volser in question might be a library volser. If a
TCDB entry is found, or the Tape Mgmt. System (ie. RMM / CA / TLMS /
ZARA) indicates it is a library volser via CBRUXVNL, then the mount will
be directed to an associated library drive. This will result in either a
RC8 RSN51 failure indicating that 'you cannot do a specific mount of a
scratch volser within an ATL' (if the duplicate ATL volume is in SCRATCH
status), or worse, the mount of the wrong volume inside the ATL.
Library users that need the ability to mount foreign tapes with
duplicate volsers on NON-SMS Standalone drives now have a way to bypass
this restriction. With SMS's introduction of the reserved storclas
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (OW39564), customers can now request that the allocation be
forced to the NON-SMS standalone allocation path. As long as the
customer specifies DISP=OLD and [EMAIL PROTECTED], SMS will force the
allocation to NON-SMS.

Note: [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a reserved SC name. It must not be defined in the
SCDS.

The use of storageclass [EMAIL PROTECTED] is preferred to the use of a dummy
volser and BLP in the JCL.

Thanks for the assistance.

Thank You

From the DFSMSdfp Storage Adminitration Reference:

With [EMAIL PROTECTED] and DISP=OLD and VOL=SER=nn specified in the
JCL, you can access an imported tape outside an automated library for
input if you have another tape with the same volser in a system-managed
library.

Re: z/OS Health Check XCF exceptions

2007-05-01 Thread Mark Steely
For question 1 this is IBM recommendation:

CLASSDEF CLASS(LARGE) CLASSLEN(16316) GROUP(UNDESIG)
CLASSDEF CLASS(DEFAULT) CLASSLEN(956) GROUP(UNDESIG)

LOCALMSG MAXMSG(2000) CLASS(DEFAULT)

Subject: z/OS Health Check XCF exceptions

The z/OS 1.7 Health Checker is reporting two XCF settings to be
corrected:
1. The recommendation to have two TRANSPORT classes with different
message lengths defined. How can suitable mesage lengths be defined?

2. The recommendation for the XCF_FDI (INTERVAL) is based on the SPIN
settings, and the calculated default is 85. The actual setting is 180
which is there because of a common belief that at some stage IBM
recommended the value of 180 rather than letting the system default.
Does anyone remember this recommendation of 180 being made, and why,
and/or whether there is a more current recommendation, eg use the
defaults that come with the system.

Use of SYSPARM

2007-03-29 Thread Mark Steely
We are z/OS V1R7.  I am sharing SYS1.PARMLIB between two LPAR's. One
LPAR needs more OMVS parms then the other. I thought I would used the
SYSPARM parameter of the LOAD or IEASYMxx member. This would be where I
would specify the OMVS statement. When I did the IPL the SYSPARM was
ignored. It says the SYSPARM will be ignored if you specify A,P, S, or T
IMSI character, which I specify T. If I change to use another IMSI
character lets say M then the SYSPARM should be picked up. My only
question is that I have specified IMSI character T so I would have a
chance to specify CLPA is needed, but I would not have a chance to
specify this if I don't specify T. I could put CLPA in IEASYS00, but I
may not want to do a CLPA every time I IPL. I don't want to specify a
different parmlib concatentation. Any other suggestion?

L/E Message

2007-03-27 Thread Mark Steely
We just upgraded from z/OS V1R4 to V1R7 and some programs are now
getting these error messages:

CEE3611I The run-time option LIBRARY was an invalid run-time option or
is not su
 Environment.

CEE3611I The run-time option RTLS was an invalid run-time option or is
not suppo
 Environment.

CEE3611I The run-time option VERSION was an invalid run-time option or
is not su

The warning messages are displaying options that are not valid anymore.
The only parms I have defined is the CEEPRM00 in SYS1.PARMLIB. I have
only CEEDOPT defined in this member. Do the programs receiving these
messages need to be re-linked our do I have an old module somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mark.

Your going to have to update CEEWDO1 and CEEWCO1 macros to remove the
option.
Under Z/OS 1.7 LE options can now be specified as a member of
SYS1.PARMLIB(CEEPRRMxx) no longer requiring assembly.
This make them adjustable dynamically. You'll want to refer to the Z/OS
Init and Tuning Ref. as well as the LE docs.
Some parms have changed and some are no longer valid.

Jon L.
