Seems that for every user, 24online notes down the username , password, ethernet card MAC address etc. When you login using their client, this MAC address is sent along with your username and password to the server. Only if all of them match are you allowed to use the service. My operator has turned it off because he wants some of his subscribers to login from other machines, because every user has its own bandwidth usage data that they collect and charge for. - Sandip -- Sandip Bhattacharya Mindframe Software Work: sandip @ mindsw.com, http://www.mindsw.com Play: sandipb @ bigfoot.com, http://www.sandipb.net --- To subscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with subscribe in subject header To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header Archives are available at http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd%40wpaa.org =

Re: [ilugd]: Printer Sharing.
this shows how immature you are. instead of sending a polite mail for not using company's mail id, you are trying to show your authorities by making statements like banning all wipro originating mails. Perhaps you should have done this, but atleast not made a public statement like above for any particular company. Re: [ilugd]: About mails. (Its possible)
Thanks for pointing it out. I should have checked the docs more closely. I have implemented the suggestion made in the FAQ and also reduced the footer text. Hopefuly, it should be okay. And as far as banning all postings from a particular domain (to fix the problem of unwanted long disclaimers) is concerned, I would suggest revisiting the issue. I am sure there are better ways to handle it without having to resort to extreme measures. I feel it is a high price to pay if we end up losing subscribers for no fault of their own. Once the issue has been brought up, it is reasonable to expect that the concerned parties would take some steps to fix it. If the issue still remains, may be we can discuss it further. hey sapan you understood the question perfectly welll. Just tha i am a lil' igonrant on the issue... so could you send me the details on how you went about doing the NAT thingie, cos i am tryin to do the same, and havent reallly succeeded. lookin forward to you reply regards prateek Sapan Bhatia wrote: The way I used to 'get past this' was by making my authentic linux box (the one whose mac address my ISP had in his database) running as a NAT for a windows machine + a laptop which I'd plug in every now and then. Naturally, I had to run the 24online client only on the linux box. Of course, it means that the bandwidth allocated to the Linux box would then be divided between all the other machines going through it, and that it'd need to be switched on most of the time... Re: [ilugd]: XConfigurator and telnet.
about x config i can suggest the following. u should configure ur display in low resolution and in low bits and then try to increase step by step. sometimes i also have encountered that even if probing results in success, then also the linux is not able to start properly in x mode (when the resolution was very high).is ur monitor properly recognized ?? if not (there is very little of chance of that) then try to match the closest frequency and try to alter with the modes available. you can also change someother instead of enlightment (though i suspect it will solve the problem). all the best have a nice dayfrom, AMIT SAXENA E-Mail : [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: People,I am having a strange problem with RH 7.2 I justinstalled. 1) I configured X through XConfigurator and it worksfine - works fine, as long as system is up.
