Yes, appears close as per GBIF

specimen

from
Nepal.
Checklist of

Nepal

gives its elevation as 2000-2800 m.
However, for *Fragaria rubiginosa*

 Lacaita

elevation is given as 2800-3600 m (which has been given as a syn. of *Fragaria
daltoniana* as per POWO)

Re: [efloraofindia:431097] MS, Aug., 2021/06 Bulbophyllum sp. for id.

2022-08-23 Thread Pankaj Kumar
I am 100% it is not gamblei. I thought I already told you before.
This has two leaves so it should belong to section Lemniscata of
Bulbophyllum. As such it doesnt match with anything. But looks close to
Bulbophyllum auricomum but the bulbs do not match.
It could very well be a new species but without proper dissection and plant
in hand I cant make out.
With two leaves it doesnt belong to the other section Hirtula.
If possible please send me an email separately containing all dissection
pics.

Typical M. longifolia (M. longifolia var. longifolia) according to both Fl.
Pakistan and Fl. China is characterised by nearly sessile leaves. Here we
can see4 distinct petioles. M. royleana does not have distribution in Nepal
but M. asiatica now considered as synonym of M longifolia var. asiatica
does have wide distribution from Afghanistan to China, that may cover Nepal
although it may not be reported locally, because taxonomy ofr this complex
has been much misunderstood.

Re: [efloraofindia:431067] Names of Plants in India :: Dolichos trilobus L.

2022-08-23 Thread Dinesh Valke
Thanks very much dear Mahadeswara ji for pointing to valid spellings.

Actually I have put the correct spelling - ಕಾಡವರೆ kadavare in yesterday's
(Aug 22, 2022) compilation in this thread itself ...
https://groups.google.com/g/indiantreepix/c/OypyMA1YS98/m/BVHDRokLAgAJ
Perhaps you happened to look at the old first post dated 20 Dec 2016, where
it was wrongly spelled.
Thanks always to you for the vigilant eye and validations.

Regards.
Dinesh

Re: [efloraofindia:431059] Names of Plants in India :: Dolichos trilobus L.

2022-08-23 Thread Mahadeswara
Dear Dinesh ji,
May I suggest a few corrections to the Kannada name w.r.t. ಕಾಡಾವರೆ
kaadavare

It should be 'ಕಾಡವರೆ' or 'ಕಾಡು ಅವರೆ'. Corresponding English
transliteration are : 'Kadavare' 'Kaadu avare'.It means Wild
Avare or Forest Avare. Avare is a common name for many legumes.
If you agree you may change accordingly.
Thanks & Regards,
